Newark’s dominant landmark and cultural hub is undeniably the University of Delaware campus, where the student body nearly matches the city’s population of permanent residents. Accordingly, many of the community’s resources are tailor-made for the collegiate crowd: an eclectic mix of restaurants and nightlife venues lines Main Street on the north side of campus, and affordable apartments are easy to find anywhere in town.
Despite the fact that it is primarily a college town, Newark maintains a diverse population with rental options available to suit any lifestyle. The sprawling nature preserves that border the northern end of the city provide gorgeous settings for hiking, camping, canoeing, and simply enjoying the great outdoors. Just thirty minutes from Wilmington, Newark also makes an excellent home base for commuters.

When I saw my lease back in two thousand eighteen the complex was at a 2.5 in my book. It then drastically went down even lower, There were things in my apartment that weren't fixed since the day that I moved in and I was there almost over two and a half years. Call the office several times never had a chance to speak to anybody.Nobody was ever at the office for at least I swear well over a year. Then by the grace of God, I go to the Lisa's office and I meet Bailey, which is the new leasing manager.Maybe a little bit over a year ago and from where the place was.She made it a complete 100%.Turnaround to where it is a great place to live. You know there's always going to be changes. That needs to be made but with her and the people she works with they're awesome. The maintenance staff are very polite and are willing to help you even if They're doing a job they're very tentative. Believe me, I've recommend this complex to anybody now 1000 percent you will enjoy your time here.

The Staff there is very friendly & patient with our questions. The site/building are very clean & well maintained. Management is very down to earth & helpful with all of our questions. We’ll be applying this coming week. Definitely recommend Iron Hill Apartments. Many renovated units & washers/dryers in them as well. Onsite 24/7 maintenance & a well kept pool. Looking forward to our next step/home.

I've had the worst time at Iron Hill Apartments, and I want to share all the awful things that have happened. Brace yourself for a rollercoaster of disappointments and frustrations. Let's start with the air conditioning. It's been broken since July 1st, and despite reporting it on July 3rd, I've had zero luck getting it fixed. The office? Well, it's always closed and they never pick up the phone, so I had to submit another maintenance request. On July 6th, I took matters into my own hands and banged on the office door until the property manager finally showed up with someone else. But instead of addressing the unbearable heat in my apartment, she scolded me for knocking too hard. Seriously? The issue here isn't my knocking technique—it's the scorching temperature inside my place and the fact that the office is never open or reachable. Oh, and her excuse? She's the only one working there and needs to close the office for her own safety. If that's how they prioritize safety, I shudder to think about the overall security in this community. It's been 12 days without any communication or updates, and my AC is still broken. Can you believe it? And don't even get me started on the rent increase. They decided to hike it up by a whopping $300! You'd expect something decent for that kind of money, but nope. The buildings here are outdated in every possible way. The only reason people were willing to put up with this place was because it used to be cheap. Well, not anymore. Let's talk about the heating system. It runs on electricity and guess what? The bills in winter are through the roof—hundreds of dollars! On top of that, the electrical system is a complete mess. Half of the outlets don't work, and the ones that do are probably ancient relics. Now, here's a real stinker. The smell of smoke seeps into my bathroom through the vent from another apartment. It's not only unpleasant but also makes me wonder how well these places are ventilated and insulated. Oh, and the window frames? They're covered in mold because of some seal failures. It's disgusting and definitely not healthy. I've been living here for a year and a half, and guess what? I've never seen a pest control technician in my apartment. So if you're planning to move here, be ready to take care of any creepy crawlies yourself.
Honest review: 4 1/2 stars. I moved into the apartment complex in 2018. It was great and has been always been great. The new maintenance was amazing and responsive! They were very nice and good at remembering me and my dog. The convenience of the location is also what sold me and kept me there for so long. Also, people will be people and the complex literally can not control everyone. Yes residents needs stickers for 2 registered cars, but there are a lot of visitors spots and I was grateful because there was never a spot in front of my building so its more convenient for residents (who are the main priority because they literally pay rent). Until I moved out I never had a problem. The only issue was that at the end, there was not really any communication on what I needed to do regarding keys or deposit. I still can't get a hold of anyone 2 months later, but blame that on the every revolving and lack of office staff. Still , I recommend this place to people I know because outside of the lack of office staff, it really is a good apartment with amazing maintenance staff. Again, people will literally always be people and they can not control all people!

I moved here 4 months ago. The office staff has been friendly and went out of their way to help make my move easy. There are a few people living here who seem to love drama. They post ‘problems’ that aren’t really anything but stories. I like it here, I feel safe and the office responds when I call. Definitely recommend.

I love my apartment! The new management has a strict policy for parking which makes parking in front of your building that much more convenient. Maintenance here is taken care of in a timely manner and the tech is very polite. Office staff is very nice and always go above and beyond to assist me at anytime. Don’t believe negative reviews. I have lived here 3 years and never had any issues or any bugs. I love where I live!

Worst experience ever. My washer dryer and dishwasher are unusable floods my apartment they will not fix it been waiting 4 months. Window pane is broke so I have a draft my bdrm so it is usually 50-60f if it’s 70 in my living room light only dims will not shut off. During my walkthrough there were open beers throughout my apartment. Please don’t come here.

Please reach out to us directly at your earliest convenience. Thank you and we look forward to giving you the 5-star experience you deserve!
This property is not worth the monthly payment they are requesting. It’s drug infested. It’s roach infested. Parking is unmanageable. If you have no sticker for your vehicle, it will get towed. Maintenance takes awhile to come do repairs. They are renovating a property that was built in 1975! Enough said.

I was told that my application was approved on the phone and in text messages and that I should go ahead and arrange my move. But then I got another message saying that the application is denied 7 days before my move when my movers were coming the same day. This is so unfair and unprofessional to switch your decision like that last minute. I am very frustrated that you guys left me so little time to find another place, when I could have applied for another one way before my move if you have just denied the application in the first place. And the payment I have made to the moving company is also non-refundable cause I only found out 1 hour before they arrive. This is just not right. I will be sharing my experience with others cause no one should have to go through this frustration.

I’ve moved here August 2019. I’m very happy. The mgr Gabby was very straight up, open and honest, and I really appreciated that. My apt is on the third floor, my choice. My apt is sooo comfortable. It’s very spacious. Lot of closet’s !! (no shelves though) My bedroom.. huge..queen size bed dresser armour vanity w/chair shelves to hold my 123 pair of shoes and flat screen tv on top.. my living room enough space for my sectional with chaise.. My kitchen has the open wall so I have an island that I put 2 barstools on the outside..Very cute for me!!
I have a 2br 2ba and it is pretty spacious. There is plenty of closets so you can put things away. They have Verizon Fios ^_^. I got my apartment at a good deal, but their full price is crazy considering there is no in unit w/d. I DECLARED BANKRUPTCY UNDER A YEAR AGO and was approved, so don't be afraid to try. Things to consider: No in-unit w/d Old cabinets Small kitchen High pet deposit Need maintenance on speed dial Despite all that, the staff is great and will help you with whatever you need. I got a great deal and they have a lot of move in specials.
For my first apartment, this apartment is ok. I've had a rough time and I want to move somewhere that is more safe. About a few weeks after I first moved in there were two murders. I just don't feel safe knowing that happened just behind me. I would love to move somewhere that is a lot more safe.
I been living in this apartment for 3 years and I been some what happy with the apartment but any time I need maintenance to fix anything it takes a long time specially if they have to order a part. There is no follow up with the office, if you call to ask whats going on with your repairs no one knows anything they just send another person to check what's need fixing and they tell you the same thing the first maintenance guy told you. I went more than a month with no AC in the middle of a hot summer before they fixed it, currently I been without an oven for more then a month and every time I call to ask no one knows anything. I called to ask a question about my lease and no one at the office knows anything, they say they call you back and they never do. The building was made in the 70's so they are old. Little by little they are renovating the apartments but I know you can get a better place for the amount of money they ask for. They do have new management and they say things are going to change but I been here for 3 years and they had 6 different managers and nothing has changed.
