San Antonio blends a rich heritage with modern innovation, resulting in a metropolis teeming with true Texan heart. San Antonio’s distinctive environment reflects centuries of style and a diverse array of culture, which is best exemplified in the La Villita Historic Arts Village. The Alamo may be the most renowned structure in the city, but there are plenty of magnificent historical buildings to see—from the Emily Morgan Hotel to the Meyer Halff House.
Stretched along the San Antonio River is the famous River Walk, where residents and visitors alike can walk or bike from the San Antonio Zoo to the Witte Museum, the historic Majestic Theatre, the Shops at Rivercenter, the Missions of San Antonio and back again.
The city and the surrounding region offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Property Ratings at Iron Horse Valley Apartments
Nothing is ever fixed correctly and staff is always changing plus get ruder. AC is always broken down and water is always shut off. Dont let the show apartment fool you. Everything like cabinets and countertops are extremely old. Too many cracks in the walls that roaches come in. And if you notice after every review on the website has an automatic reply. Certainly not paying attention to what the residents are saying. You would think the owner at some point would come out and speak to the tenants or look at the apartments. Im surprised no one has called Code Compliance. This is too much and I'm not renewing.
My car has been stolen twice from this complex, it's supposed to be a gated community but the gate hasn't worked since I moved in August of 2022, I was told they were working on it, but no one has touched it. On the weekends there are all kinds of people that park their cars here to go to the sketchy after hours strip club two buildings over, they have parties in the parking lot at 4am. When I spoke to the office about what's happening I was told they would set up a meeting, that was 3 weeks ago and no one has gotten a hold of me. There's also been problems with water being turned off the entire time Ive lived here and 95% of the time the office has no idea what is happening, water gets turned off all the time due to "emergencies" in an apartment below me that no one lives in. I can not wait to get out of here
i've been living at this apartment about 3 years and at first it was ok but lately, Water at this apartment is constantly being shut off almost monthly because of something, they tell you its going to be an hour and it ends up being more then that. I would not recommend this apartment. sure it's cheap but if you are wanting a place that offers covered parking, a gym, etc, don't bother wasting your money here, you will not get that. I cannot wait for my lease to end to hopefully move to a new apartment in the near future.

You call in emergency to maintenance and it is never an emergency for them so you don't have a refrigerator or electricity or water they don't fix it until they want and you don't even check well they just go very fast and according to they fix it they leave and after 10 minutes it breaks down again Then they no longer want to hurt again because according to them they have already fixed it and the tenants are the gorillas, the security door never closes any people go to the apartments, there are many robberies in parking cars if you are 1 day late in the rent They charge you 50 and apart they send you a paper that you already have to vacate in 24 hours if you are one more day late even if you pay extra they answer you reluctantly at the office they almost yell at you it is full of cockroaches every so often the air is destroyed electrical things etc. not recommended

I tried to buy out my lease because I had to move. Instead they wanted to make me pay double if not triple what I did by leaving my apartment pretty close to empty and paying monthly rent until the end of the lease. When I went back to clean my apartment prior to the official end of my lease, my keys didn’t even work. They changed my lock on me and I had to go through the office to get a copy of the key so I could clean my own apartment. I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming to live at this complex.

I have lived in these apartments for 6 months and there was a shooting outside my apartment and people breaking into cars. I moved out because it wasn't safe for my daughter and I. I have been trying to terminate my lease and no one will help me. I keep getting told to email the property manager and no response it has been 1 and half months and no response. I talked to Maxine in the office and she stated my safety is not there problem. If you would like be feel safe at home don't move here because they don't care about your safety.

With all honesty, I have lived in an 2 bedroom with my roommate for almost 7 months now. When we first moved in we had an German Roach problem that lasted a week. After two rounds of pesticides it finally ended. But our problems didn't stop there. We had countless problems with the shower from there being leaks in the ceiling to the shower fixture shooting off the wall. Which flooded my bathroom. And the police have been called 3 times(that I know of) in the complex for noise complaints and domestic disputes. The units are a little dated, But are okay if everything works. Maintenance has been good to us though. They do their job when you send them maintenance requests online.

Had a rat stuck in wall for 4 months. Kept reporting it and it was never addressed. Moved out!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns. We understand that pests are frustrating, but we work closely with our pest control team to ensure that these issues are avoided or taken care of immediately. We apologize if our efforts have fallen short of your expectations. We appreciate your feedback. Iron Horse Valley Management Team
Upon first entry into the apartment, my girlfriend & I were met by an ensemble of bugs throughout the apartment. It took weeks to clear the apartment out by ourselves with products we purchased as the pest control makes rare rounds. The apartment itself is not bad as far as the cracks in the tile in the bathroom or the subpar kitchen space, but our biggest grievance is the neighbors. I have never seen horrible people like the ones I have to live next to until my lease is up next year in August. They fight, curse, are too loud & choose to bring their hostility outside where everyone can see & hear their issues rather than stay inside & act civilized. I'd like to see a change to apartments where residents need to be screened to see if they are a fit for the apartment community because the ones that we live next to make me want to consider leaving in the middle of my lease & paying the high fines of doing so. This issue needs to be addressed & soon for future residents, because I would not want someone else to be in this community if they have a horrible experience like we have had here. The clock is ticking & I'm waiting for August to come so I can live somewhere that doesn't have impudence like this.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR APPROVAL IN WRITING!!!!! I applied on August 23, 2019 in the office with David and was told by phone during the first week of September that I was approved and given a move in date of October 19, 2019. I was also given my address to set up CPS. I received a phone call on October 11, 2019 from Abby telling me my application was denied and to come in and pick up my deposit. Come to find out, conveniently, David is no longer with the company. They claimed the denial was due to negative rental history, which they equated to me being late twice in one year with rent on my current apartment. This is something that was never relayed before or during the application process. It is not on any paperwork. The only thing they have is they will deny for broken leases or evictions, which I have none. I know I fell on hard times and was late more than twice and would have not wasted their time nor mine, neither wasted $100 for the application fee. Even though I was late, I was never more than 15 days late and I paid all applicable fees. Honestly, I am not even upset that I was denied. I feel like I dodged a bullet after doing further research about the complex. I was upset they waited six weeks to change the decision and told me a week before I was to move in. I am writing this review so this will not happen to other prospective tenants. If they tell you that you are approved, please get it in writing. Also if you were late more than twice on your rent at your current place of residence, don’t waste your money on an application fee since you will be denied.
I've been to these apartments they look nice inside and out the only requirement they require you to work a job for 6 months in order to determine if you will be able to pay rent as well as utilities that they don't cover they have restaurants in the area so lots of available work no ROACHES no RATS very clean place as well as quiet been here early this month still the same
Do NOT rent here! We had nothing but problems at this complex ranging from Domestic Disturbance calls, Poor Management, Poor Maintenance Staff, Poor Living conditions. The reason we left was b/c of mold in the apartment rented to us. I took pictures and sent them to the property management, but all they did was blow air into the air duct and paint over the walls. We had no other choice but to break our lease and move out. Keep looking! There are plenty of other affordable and better managed places to live.
1. Bad location - strip club(crime alert), perrin beitel a few minutes away(crime alert and bad traffic) 2. No Fitness Center 3. Lots and Lots of Roaches...big ones and little ones 4. Lots of stray animals...cats, possums, squirrels, snakes, and yes - rats. However, no lie, they stay outside( to scare you when you get in your car or go for a walk). 5. Pool is dirty, filthy. 6. Maintenance changes very often...I think they have underlying, undisclosed issues. 7. Problems with car vandalism, theft, and apartment break-in's (Heh...a serious problem). 8. Walls extremely thin - noisy - can hear neighbors talking and laughing, walking across floors. BTW, you have a curfew while your in your apartment due to thin walls. 9. Laundry facilities sux 10. Leasing office staff changes ...okay
Needs. Washer and dryer hookup. Raising my rent by $300 in December
well its been good living here soo far, and for the most part, maintenance and the associates are very helpful. Only thing is I have had a problem with the central air unit since I've moved in, and no really getting the help I need. Electric bill is going up, and they come and check it, but its not getting the problem corrected. The apartments are fairly old, but well kept. The place is great, the equipment might be aged.
Quiet, peaceful setting...I love the floor plans. No loud neighbors... The staff respects an takes in all your request. I feel most certainly safe here. My boys an I love it here. Pools are clean laundry area clean. Stores are closed by...Go Iron Horse Valley Go! Come check them out.IHV!!!!
The maintenance seems to repair things in a timely manner, but a lot of times, they are backed up because the plumbing there is soooo bad. My toilets have overflowed multiple times. And the water has run into the hallway, front bedroom, living room, even the master bedroom closet. I'm sure there is mold growing inside my walls and the closets stinks really bad like mildew. My clothes have been ruined due to the bad plumbing. Other than the plumbing, the appliances are up to date and we've only had to have our a/c motor replaced twice.
Decent apartments. Bad News: Maintenance takes a while to get things done. The pipes connected to the toilets are apparently really small, as I have to unclog my toilet with a plunger every couple of weeks. The staff is friendly enough, but don't really make an effort to get to know you once you sign the contract. My oven is too close to my pantry door in my kitchen, so much so that it blocks my oven door from opening all the way....which should have been something they should have seen before I moved in. When I moved in, it was apparent that they didn't make much of an effort to clean, because it still smelled like cigarette smoke I guess from the last tenant, I found 4 dead cockroaches throughout the apartment, the space between the counter and the oven was filthy and had a french fry down there and I had to dust several of the shelves and window sills myself. My apartment size does not have washer and dryer hookups, although smaller sizes do (doesn't make sense to me). Although the complex has 3 laundry facilities, it's $1.50 per load per machine and it's a lottery as to which machine isn't broken that day. Not much counter space in the kitchen, and it doesn't come with a microwave. Appliances are pretty outdated. Good news: It's pretty cheap, since I pay just under $700 for a 700 Sq ft 1 br/1bath apartment. It's close to an HEB and walmart and plenty of restaurants. It's about 10-20 minutes from Ft. Sam/SAMMC, depending on traffic. 20 minutes from Randolph. Neighbors are nice and quiet most of the time. My apartment is a good size and quite comfortable. If you're looking for somewhere decent to live and save some money, this is the place because that's exactly what I'm doing.
