Bordering Washington Park to the East, Hyde Park is a popular and culturally diverse South Side community. Lush, spacious parks and the University of Chicago campus dominate the neighborhood. Although there is a wide selection of luxury communities, there are many apartments and rental houses that are surprisingly affordable, attracting students, faculty, staff, and any renters looking for a good deal.
This small park-like neighborhood is rich with history. Hyde Park is home to one of Chicago’s most famous landmarks: The Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere. Hyde Park was also home to the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, several Nobel Prize winners, and former President Barack Obama. The neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful green spaces, lush foliage, and lakefront parks with small beaches. Midway Plaisance Park is a long stretch of parkland with sports facilities and an outdoor skating rink.

Property Ratings at Ivy Dickens
This was the worst apartment and management I have ever lived in. 1. PEST! HUGE COCKROACHES!!!! There are huge cockroaches, centipedes and other pest that I don't know the name. I called for exterminations 14 times in my time living here. I have screenshots to prove it. 2. Faulty Heat! The hear rarely comes on! My apartment was in the back on the building and they said it's harder for the heat to reach my apartment. 3. Dirty Water! There has been many times I turned my water on and it was brown. It was brown with dirt particles in it. 4. MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE SAD. I was pregnant living in this situation and they were 0% accomidating. I reported them to the city of Chicago because of their lack of sustainability for the property! Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live.
