Property Ratings at Ivy Green at the Shoals
I lived at Ivy Green for over 11 years, from 2011 through April 2023. During all that time, I got very familiar with the place. Really, I'm surprised to find that other people have left very negative reviews. In my experience, Ivy Green is considerably better than other reviewers said, though it does have some flaws. It's affordably priced housing (especially if sharing costs with a roommate) that can be a decent place to live for a couple years before moving on. There are pros and there are cons. Pros: Probably the best thing about Ivy Green is the location in Central Florence. It's close to two grocery stores, a Dollar General, gas stations, and some fast food restaurants. It's close to UNA and the downtown area. It's right on the road that crosses the bridge if you need to go south across the Tennessee River. And it's not too far from the Florence Mall and chain restaurants. You can get to either end of Florence fairly quickly. Management is on-site in an office, full-time. I found management to be pretty good to work with. They are quick to handle repairs; they get done within one business day, often within a few hours of the request. Jerry, the maintenance guy, was competent, polite, and did an excellent job. Generally, I felt like the complex was a safe place to live. Cons: Ivy Green doesn't have enough land to have a good place for exercise, so I wound up walking on the road around the complex. This was DANGEROUS sometimes at night because cars that could not see me would come around the curves in the drive too fast. I finally resorted to buying a reflective construction vest at Dollar General and wearing it when I walked at night, while also being careful to walk close to the side of the road so I could get out of the road quickly if needed. It's worth noting that there are two gyms (Planet Fitness and Crunch) located nearby, so that is an option for exercise. Despite the posted speed limit signs, people tend to drive too fast both day and night at this complex. Summary: It's decent if you can cope with a few small problems, and relatively inexpensive. Would I live here again? Maybe. It would depend on my budget and I'd do some comparison shopping, of course. It seemed well-suited for college students to me, though there were also some small families and single people who lived there. I'd probably give it 3.5 Stars. Tip: Try to get a ground floor unit. It's much easier to move in and out.
I have lived at ivygreen for a little over a year now and my older brother lived here 2 years before I moved into one. He never had any problems and told me it was a really good apartment for how cheap it is. I moved in and have had excellent service from the office they communicate well with what is going on and any time I ever had a problem they sent someone to fix it almost immediately. I would highly recommend ivygreen to all the other broke college students.
Management was great before 2019, then new management took over the front office, and she is very unprofessional. On top of that no lights in bedrooms are living room. If you work night shift you will never be able to sleep well. There is a active project constantly going on every day, from cutting grass, blower blowing around parking lot, side walks for no reason. Constantly spraying side walk between apartment's with high pressure hose. Also these wall's are paper thin, for the amount you pay it's a rip off.
Hands down the best apartment complex in Florence! We have the best Manager EVER and an unbeatable top notch office staff and maintenance. Ivy Green is a safe and quiet community, near shopping and UNA with pristine landscaping and amenities. The apartments are very nicely designed and perfect for professionals, families, and students. My little dog Madeline and I wouldn't live anywhere else! Just simply THE BEST!
I lived here for my first two years of college in a two bedroom. The leasing office was easy to work with every time I needed help. The only reason I had to move was because I moved in with someone else, and my lease was up before hers. Otherwise, I would still be living there. I would recommend it to anyone!
By far the worst place to live in Florence. No ceiling lights or cable hook ups in a lot of the rooms. The land lord is also very rude.
When we moved to the area we found that Ivy Green of the Shoals was the cleanest property we could find. We lived there for five years with our two small children and were very pleased. Any time there was a problem, the apartment manager and maintenance crew were prompt to address and fix it. The grounds were kept up professionally, and our kids enjoyed the pool and grassy areas to play on. We got to know our neighbors through spending time at the community grilling and picnicking areas. We always felt safe, and the location in town is amazing. Five years later, its still the nicest property in the area.
After a long search! I decided on these apartments. It felt the safest and most ideal for what I was looking for. Staff is friendly and location is awesome! They have been there for any questions or concerns I have had about moving to a new town and state!
If you are looking for a nice apartment community, with a friendly staff and affordable rates. Look no further
