Detroit Lakes is a small and secluded city in northwestern Minnesota, about 45 miles due east of Fargo. Built on the north shore of its namesake lake with numerous other lakes and nature preserves all around, the city is a popular resort destination, with the summer months seeing the population nearly double thanks to seasonal residents and tourists.
Locals enjoy terrific access to outdoor recreation opportunities year-round, from biking, boating, and swimming in the summer to skiing and snowboarding at Maplelag Resort in the winter. The Downtown district around the intersection of Holmes Street and Washington Avenue hosts a thriving collective of specialty shops and restaurants, including the popular Washington Square Mall and the local favorite Lake Country Bakery.

Property Ratings at Jackson Apartments
Do NOT rent from this company!! All the care about is money instead of the healthy, safety, and care of their residents. MANY ISSUES!! Jackson Ave in Detroit lakes. Issues such as black mold all throughout the apartment, cracks in the walls, bathroom tile falling off showing rotten wood behind, rotten trim, now this morning leaking ceiling (hasn’t rained in 2 weeks) that is leaking reddish-brown liquid that stained my living room furniture and wrecked it, a crack all across the ceiling showing it’s starting to leak liquid like it did this morning, outside deck falling apart with rotting wood that was “temporarily fixed” and railing that isn’t secured properly on deck. I have contacted the apartment management continuously (no help), contacted management at head office in Fargo of Rose Management (no help), waiting for a call back from owners of Rose Management, contacted Valley News Live Whistleblower Hotline, contacted Nathan & Priscilla at City of Detroit Lakes regarding building code and health and safety concerns of the apartment building, and will also be contacting attorney and MN health department in the morning. Will NOT stop till something is done. On top of all of this I am diagnosed with asthma and allergies (have been diagnosed and had my whole life) and affecting my breathing and allergies making it WORSE living here. As well as other tentants in the apartment building have had and are having the same issues. Again do NOT rent from Rose Management!!
