Nestled along Highway 1 near the Potomac River, Potomac West is a bustling neighborhood with unbeatable access to historic Downtown Alexandria. Potomac West’s residential streets are lined with upscale, longstanding homes and luxury apartments available for rent. Because of the neighborhood’s central location, rent tends to be at a higher price point, but there are affordable housing options in the area as well. Potomac Yard Center sits across Highway 1 and features several department stores, retailers, and grocers, with more dining and shopping options available throughout the area. Along Mount Vernon Avenue you’ll find charming, locally owned restaurants, cafés, specialty shops, and a farmers market. Several subway stations help commuters get to and from their destinations, with the most popular locale being Washington, DC, located just seven miles north of Potomac West.

Property Ratings at Jackson Crossing
This place is infested with mice and management sent pest control 3 times to my apartment and still mice . I’m breaking my lease and taking this company to court
I knew this place would eventually become infested with mice as they are already infested with bed bugs. The trash rooms are a feeding ground for pest. Some tenants throw trash EVERYWHERE!! It’s a shame, because Jackson Crossing had the potential to be one of the nicest properties in Potomac Yards. Management needs to be held accountable for the downfall of the building. Some tenants don’t complain because they’re to busy getting high and dirtying up the place. Poor Management! Poor Tenants!
Mice are in my apartments and others also . Trash rooms are so nasty and the people here do not take care of the place . Do not move here , if you read any of the other reviews they are true . Projects in a nice area
I moved to Jackson Crossing when the building first opened in 2016. The building was super clean and very peaceful...for about 3 months. Tenants started moving in and all hell broke loose! The walls are very thin, I can’t enjoy Netflix or chill in my own living room as the lady next door intercourse sessions spill over into my unit. The family above me makes so much noise, it sounds like a freaking construction site in their unit everyday. The building is noisy altogether! Inside and outside of the units! There is no escaping noisy neighbors! This is suppose to be a “Smoke-free” building, but the marijuana smell is so strong, you can smell it in the garage, hallways, and elevator. Management is a joke! They allow tenants and their guest to smoke right in front of the building. The garage door has been broken for some time now and non-residents have easy access to the building. Recently, there was a guy roaming the halls while yelling and banging/kicking on random doors. He almost kicked the hinges off my door! The building definitely needs a courtesy officer on site during the evenings and weekends! Dirty laundry rooms, trash rooms look like a land field. Bed bugs were brought onto the property from Day 1. When there is a bed bug issue, management don’t inform tenants, but you will hear about it from your neighbors. Roaches! No mice or rats, but they will be here soon! Cheap garage parking, but the spaces are tight! Parking is not enforced. In fact, none of the rules are enforced here. You pay for rent, electric, garage parking ($35), and water ($50-$60) One star is for the affordable rent and location.
This apartment complex used to be really nice when I first moved here however it has gone downhill and fast! There are tenants who don’t respect the building they smoke weed drink beer and leave bottles everywhere tenants have brought in bedbugs and roaches, tenants renting their units as air bnb and there are a few boarding units in the building with multiple men, women, and children living in a 2 bedroom apartments. The rental owners know about it but don’t do nothing. Tenants yell and cuss at kids, fight, make lotta noise, kids play ball in hallways, sit in lobby to horse around on weekends. No security here. The rental owners are a joke they don’t care about the property. I’m moving out soon.
I agree completely with the previous comment. It used to be good but not so much these days. There is always a bad smell at the first floor, there is a smell of marijuana on the hallways and although management say they're doing their best (I've seen the first floor free from bad odor) but, it seems temporary. There is also unscheduled visit sometimes from the office, specifically, the leasing office. You can imagine anybody's feeling when someone enters their house without any notice. Imagine that! I don't really feel safe with my family here. Although it's a good area with affordable rooms, unfortunately, i'm planning to move out.
I was one of the first people to move here when it first opened. It was nice and quiet. Sad to say ,I will NOT be renewing my lease for a 2nd year. Affordable rent , perfect location , you would think I would want to stay. I wish I could. This place used to be nice when I first moved in. But after staying here for some time , this place has gone down. The walls are extremely thin. I can hear the man snoring who lives in the apt next to me. I can hear the alarm go off on his cell phone. I can hear he and his wife having a conversation. I can hear the lady yelling at her child in the morning who lives on the other side of me. I can hear everyone outside in the hallways. It's no privacy. There is a huge safety concern. There are no cameras, there are no staff here on the weekends, there are NO security guards. The hallways smell like weed/marijuana a lot of the times and I can even smell it in my apt. The apartment complex suggest I call non emergency services , but what they can do. The issue can only be corrected if there is a security guard roaming the building regularly. The first floor always smells like a mildew moldy smell. A lot of the residents who live here have no respect for where they live. Trash, is left in the stairwells and hallways. I am not even exaggerating. I truly believe in honesty and people should know what they are getting in to moving here. Don't get caught up in the location , cost and how new the place is, it comes with a price. Unfortunately this was once a beautiful place but now it's gone down and the staff and those who oversee the building seem to not care or even try to listen to the concerns the residents have living here.
