Property Ratings at Jackson House
There is not one soul in this building not dealing with bed bugs and the staff here talks about the bugs like they are just another day at the Jackson House. I am up in age and live on a small monthly wage and cannot afford anything else in town. When you first move in the staff are very friendly and you do a walk-through of the apartment which looks very nice and clean because of the remodel but once you move in things change very quickly. Two months after moving in I started itching very badly and noticed small red dots on my body. At first I just assumed they were flea bites because people living here have pets and the carpets in this place are very old. I put down some flea spray and dusted my bedroom because I have carpet in there and thought I was fine. Once I laid back in bed that night I woke up to go to the bathroom and felt something crawling on my skin and when I turned on the light I was shocked to see welts on my skin and several bed bugs crawling on my night gown. I went into my bed room and turned on the light and sure enough there was bugs crawling all over the place. I went down to the office the next morning and talked to the staff but they was very rude to me and was making comments that I was the one who brought them in my apartment. A lady checking her mail box which is next to the office looked over at me and said, "Oh you got those too?" The lady went on to tell me that her apartment is covered in them and that her friends that stay here also has them. The staff here treated me like I was trash and told me I had to bring proof that I had bugs and that they can't go off the red dot bites on my body. Well here is the proof that I have bed bugs Jackson House for all the world to see! Next time you want to treat and elderly lady like she is lower than you are you might want to step back and check yourself. I have called the Health and Safety people and reported you all and I hope they make you spray every single room in this building including all the basement rooms and the main room with the snack machine in it. People should not have to live like this even if we are poor we have rights!
Do not move in here! There is not one apartment in this building that is not dealing with bed bugs or have already dealt with them and praying they will not come back. The bugs are everywhere is this building so no matter what you do to try and get rid of them they will eventually return. Jackson House will spray your apartment one time for free and then will charge you to spray again when they come back although it is not your fault for getting them. I have found them crawling around inside my shower, my kitchen floor, my closet, and coming out of the electrical sockets. It does not matter if you go down the checklist they give you to get rid of them since the apartment building is covered in them and they are nesting in every nook and corner of this place it is just a matter of time before they come back. It is beyond nasty! If I could afford to move I would be out tomorrow!
I have only been living here for roughly 7 months and everything I brought into my apartment was all new stuff from high-end places. Now, after only 7 months of being here, I am looking to get out as quickly as possible. This entire building is infested with bed bugs! Never in my life of living in apartments have I ever experienced this. To make this situation even worse the staff and management blow it off like it is no big deal and then make you catch a bug to prove that you have them. Is the millions of bite marks on my body not proof enough and now your making me play bug catcher! I had to come out of my own pocket which was 300.00 to spray my own apartment because I refused to touch a bug and capture it for proof. I ended up having to throw away all of my new furniture and everyday live in fear that I am going to get them again. No one should have to live like this! This place is cheap for a reason! You are way better off taking your money elsewhere and spend a little more to live in a safe environment. The staff and management act like it is your fault that you got them and seeing they don't spray the entire building at the same time it is just a matter of time before these bugs come back!
