New York City’s Upper West Side is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. While landmarks like the Metropolitan Opera, the Lincoln Center, and the American Museum of Natural History lend a distinctly highbrow air to the landscape, the overall community environment favors down-to-earth personalities and accessible neighborhood amenities.
So what’s it like to live in the Upper West Side, and what exactly is this neighborhood known for? The local dining scene is superb, featuring a vast landscape of restaurants representing every style and flavor imaginable, most of which are affordable enough to become regular stops. Grocers and retail stores are close at hand, and everywhere in the Upper West Side is within walking distance of Central Park— those living near the eastern edge of the neighborhood can enjoy gorgeous views of the sun rising over the park every morning.

Property Ratings at James Marquis
A very well run building. Always kept clean , responsive to maintenance needs.
The building felt like home the moment I stepped in the front door of the building.
Drafty windows mean hefty heating bills and a cold apt. So cold, we dread showering in the winter. Brrrrr.
After living for 40 years on the UES within a radius of 10 blocks and being very happy there, moving to the James Marquis building on West 90th Street, has been an extremely gratifying experience. The level of all staff services is highly superior, with politeness and promptness in responding to any type of request. From dealing with the leasing office to the various services within the building, there is nothing but efficiency and a high level of caring in all interactions with the staff. Moreover, the apartment I rented, a big, bright one bedroom apartment, accomodated all of the furnishings of my previous beautiful 2 bedroom apartment, with the additional amenity of a washer and dryer within the apartment and large closet spaces. In addition, the neighborhood is beautiful and all necessary shopping amenities for food or any other supplies, is within very close proximity. It is a pleasure to be living here.
Management and staff seem to be doing above and beyond to make our lives here comfortable and safe!
If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable and impeccably cared for building - the James Marquis is your place!
This is the best management company Ive ever dealt with in 15 years of living in NYC. Love my apartment and the staff, neighbors and the place is kept up very well.
I would have never come to live here had I known how cold the apartment was. The electricity bills are so high because of this Management has not replaced old windows, and seems to have no intention to do so in the near future.
