Property Ratings at Johnathan's Ridge Apartments
This is the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. Do you wants bugs, buglary, drunken hit and runs, or an inattentive management. You got it here. The stink bugs can be tolerated but not cockroaches that even their pest control can't get rid off.... would you like your possessions stolen out of your car? How about clean dishes? Forget about that here. The maintenance man even said a new dishwasher wouldn't help. The water is to dense to clean the dishes. The manager is hardly ever in office to help or address concerns. They only want the rent check. But don't wanna make your living experience pleasant. I can't wait for the lease to expire.
We haven't received our deposit back on this apt and it has been 3 weeks......we help an apt for the lower level and paid the deposit and application fee and it stayed on her desk so I went the next day to get the deposit back and she said I have to wait till the company sends me a check through the mail...... instead of her giving me the check back and rewriting her another for the application fee it took a week to deposit that check and its been now 2 week still waiting on it I cant even have my lights or anything else turned on for waiting to receive that deposit........not a good way to so business
Worst place ever!!! You pay for the extra amenities with your rent (dog park, playground, and pool) The playground is disgusting! They don't mow the grass as they should and there's always all kinds of bugs on the equipment due to lack of care. The pool is great the 2 weeks out of the summer that it's open because they do not care for it either. They do not put the correct chemicals in it and hardly empty the trash cans down there. They wait til it gets nasty and green and shut it down so no one can use it. It's currently the last two weeks of summer before Labor Day and the pool is closed again! And don't even think about calling to get those or anything else fixed because you will never get a hold of the landlord/ office manager. Our refrigerator has been leaking for over a year now and the dishwasher has standing water in it and MOLD! She said they had a new one for us on back order over 4 MONTHS AGO! This is ridiculous. You can't even call to pay rent because there's never paper in the credit card machine when you actually can get an answer after calling over 40 times from Monday to Friday, not to mention our very first months rent we paid by money order she shredded accidentally! I had to go down to the gas station and stand for over an hour with her to see if they could issue a new one... Which they could not. This place would be nice if they actually took care of it and its residents. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
The apartments are managed poorly, and ineffectively. The apartment manager often walks a very thin line between doing her job and harassing tenants. Written notice is never given for apartment inspections, which by Tennessee state law management must give 48 hours written notice to inspect an apartment; unless it is an emergency situation. Emergency situations are to include maintenance emergencies such as leaks, or situations where someone's life may be at risk. Additionally, a written statement should be left in the unit by management or those contracted by management who enter without the resident being home; which is never done. Management also hands her apartment entry keys to contracted agents so as they can enter the units without the manager's presence which I completely disagree with. Finally, beware if one holds a carry-conceal permit issued by the state, management has made it very clear that she does not like firearms, and would prefer them not to be in the apartments which infringe on the rights of private, law abiding citizens.
When we moved in the management was better but it's currently rather unsatisfactory. Office hours are rarely kept. Problems go unaddressed. Little to no care is given to the condition of the property. Rent is raised exorbitantly. Non-residents overrun the pool. Overall we're looking forward to leaving when we can. We haven't had too many problems with bugs or safety or anything like that but I know that if we did, if wouldn't be addressed. The buildings are decent but there are better complexes nearby.
