Also known as Crystal Park, University Park is a community within the Main South neighborhood, which is about two miles away from Downtown Worcester. As its name implies, University Park neighbors Clark University, which gives the area a college-town feel. The area’s namesake park is a popular spot for concerts, frequent farmers markets, and summer movie screenings. University Park is one of Worcester’s most affordable locales and has a variety of lofts, apartments, condos, and townhomes available for rent. Along with its affordability, University Park is known for its incredible dining scene. Living here will place you within walking distance of a wide range of international eats including poke, tacos, jerk chicken, and more. Although many renters work or go to school at Clark University, University Park is also convenient to College of the Holy Cross, Becker College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, so it’s a great option for anyone looking to be near campus.

Property Ratings at Junction Shop Lofts
I lived at JSL for+ 2 years. Worcester Board of Health had to intervene in 2 issues I was having: excessive second-hand smoke and pet damage. My apartment was so soaked in pet urine that it took 4 professional cleanings to make it habitable. JSL management dragged their feet; corporate management in RI finally had to intervene and they did so only under the threat of legal action. It was anything but luxury. P.S. You can hear your neighbors enunciate through the walls. WBC confirmed that they are largely drywall with no insulation between apartments. The apartments were beautiful, but, for me, living here was a nightmare.

Hello. We are disappointed to see your 1-star review. Our team assisted multiple times and tried their absolute best to resolve all your concerns however, some concerns even professionals couldn’t confirm. According to our records, an animal never lived in your unit prior to you, so your claims of pet urine confused us. We brought in a professional cleaner multiple times to address the issue, but they couldn’t locate any pet urine or damage in the unit. We also did everything we could to remedy to smell of smoke in your unit. In our investigation, we learned the downstairs neighbor you claimed “smoked excessively” didn’t smoke at all. Even knowing this we continued to appease you and remedy the “issue” by blocking any potential locations in which smoke could seep into your unit. This still did not satisfy you. We are sorry our countless attempts to make your time in our community weren’t enough. ~Junction Shop Lofts Management Team
just now NEW Walls are thin, insulation is terrible and you will be paying a lot for heating and cooling. Also do not trust the elevator to be working, when we moved it we were concerned about living on the second floor and moving furniture. The person assured us they had an elevator and moving in and out would be easy.I am now moving out, the elevator will be down for 3-6weeks with no communication from the office that it was going to be our for this long, just kept being told we are working on it. I physically went and asked and was told the 3-6weeks. I told them I need to move out and they told me I would need to carry everything down the stairs. I asked if they would be willing to help with a moving company since I can no longer use hand-trucks and carts to move out and they told me no. Horrible experience and waste of money. Stay away!
Property Manager at Junction Shop Lofts, Responded To This Review
Hello, we are sorry to learn of your review and disappointment. Generally speaking the elevators are accessible and working – at times, maintenance needs to be completed for the equipment to remain operational and safe. Due to this, we cannot have the elevator in use while it is being worked on. We did communicate that the elevator would be out of order, and we apologize that this happens to coincide with your departure. ~Junction Shop Lofts Team
If you want to risk potentially losing all your possessions in a fire, then you should check this place out…they allow smoking in the apartments so not only is it a fire hazard, but you could get migraines from all the smell. Used condoms and other trash can readily be found in the parking lots, so that’s always lovely to see. They have one trash bin and compactor for the entire complex, so it routinely breaks down, overflows, and people leave trash everywhere but IN it. Avoid like the plague unless you have no other options.
Looks can be deceiving. Many of the units are not as nice as the ones they advertise. There is trash/needles/broken glass from all the frequent break-ins lining the building sidewalks. Noise levels are obtrusive and insane, well outside of quiet hours, and management does nothing. They do something to remove bad google reviews. Mine and my roommates reviews don't show up there...and I don't know any of the people who left the 5 star reviews. It might seem normal not to know the neighbors, but we had fire alarm issues complex-wide that pushed us out into the streets at all odd hours of the day and night for large chunks of time, so actually many of us are now aquatinted. That was another big issues that took months and months and greatly disrupted our lives.
Looks are very deceiving. I was lied to about the noise level when I moved in two weeks ago. It is so noisy and there’s “nothing that can be done.” I have never been so disappointed in a place I pay a fortune to live at.

This place is awful. Heating in insane. Trash everywhere.

We apologize for any issues you may have had. When you are able, please reach out to a team member to discuss your concerns, and what we may be able to do for you going forward.
This place looks nice but the reality of living there is pretty terrible. The walls are thin. You will hear your neighbors much more than is reasonable. I could tell the channel my neighbor was watching and not because the volume was especially loud. If the apartment is exposed to the street, or the strip club, you will hear a lot of noise as well. This includes car stereos bumping, and the occasional 3am gunshot. The freight train slowly screeches by loudly as well at all hours of the night (4-5 hours at a time). I was on the top floor and it wasn’t unusual to have debri fall from the ceiling. It looked to me like asphalt. Apartments are drafty so prepare for expensive heating bills. On sub 20 degree days my apartment would top out in the mid 50s. My all time observed record low was 47. Obviously this place wasn’t working out for me. I was exhausted from being routinely woken up by the club, a nocturnal neighbor, or the freight train. If you ask to break your lease they will ask for 3 months rent and try to damage your credit. I paid for each of the 17 months I lived there. I refused to pay the lease break fee of 3 months (offered 1 month though) and they put a collection on my credit file.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy living with us! The lease-break policy is detailed at length in the lease you signed, and we would be happy to review that with you at any time. We take your feedback very seriously, and we wish you the best of luck in your search for a home that is right for you.
