Property Ratings at Juneau Village Towers
If you work 3rd shift don’t move here, I had just got off from a 14 hour shift and maintenance said they needed to do some work and it would take 30 minutes, took them 3 hours and they took cigarette breaks. A different time they were suppose to fix my washing machine and after i waited a month and they never showed up i went to the office to see what was up and maintenance had put it in their “done” pile. Another time maintenance to unclog my tub and they left gunk all in my sink and tub and used my shower scalp massager to get the gunk off of their tool…Neighbors are inconsiderate and loud.I couldn’t get in the garage bc the waiting list was “too long and we’re not adding anybody to it” so I had to park my car a 7 minute walk away from the building. The air conditioner sucks so when it’s summer time it’s hot in the apartment even with the windows open. I would only recommend this place if you just really for whatever reason wanna stay in inner city Milwaukee.
Growing THROUGH the walls in my bathroom, between the molding of my closet and carpet, and many other nooks and crannies. It's honestly disgusting and I'm sure they're well aware of the issue, they combat it by spraying bleach on the visible area and call it a day. It was only after weeks of complaints that management sent over maintenance to fix the issue, spending a week with my apartment in absolute shambles. I was fine with it, of course, since they were fixing the issue. Or so I thought. They tore down a completely unaffected wall, because the affected wall had a cabinet in front of it. "We're gonna point fans at it and hope it dries out." Right, what about the massive amounts of black mold? They have disregarded me at every step. Foul behavior and tenet treatment. Old raggedy building. Weird paintings. A new horrid smell in the elevators and hallways everyday. Save yourself the trouble.

Curiously, this is written anonymously, more than likely because he or she is not looking to allow management to confirm the apartment allegations, which leads one to presume that the comments are unsubstantiated or exaggerated. As always, feel free to contact Kim at the leasing office at 414.272-7660 to further discuss, and so that an apartment inspection may be performed. Thank you!
I love living in this location because of all of the great things nearby. I am close to so many wonderful places, like the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and Summerfest.

Juneau Village Towers is a great property in downtown Milwaukee. I love that the location is convenient to everything I need, including restaurants, a Metro Market and exciting attractions nearby. I also like that the property is reasonably priced and that the rooms are spacious.

I lived in Building B for 2 years on the 5th floor and never had any roach issues back in 2017-2019 time frame. I moved away for 2 years and came back and now live in the same building but the 3rd floor in 2021. And unfortunately, the roach situation is SO BAD! I usually find 3-4 roaches per day. The office has had the exterminator out several times but that doesn't fix the problem - I still have roaches, now they're usually just dead/dying in my apartment. I use the stairs all the time and I usually see dead ones in the stairwell too. It's too bad because I actually really love my apartment but I can't imagine ever staying here again.

Hi Lauren~ As we have previously discussed, it was a disappointment that you posted this review prior to speaking with management to allow us an opportunity to offer you a solution. We hope that you are enjoying the new apartment that you have chosen here. It is unfortunate that you have made the choice to maintain this post even after you stated repeatedly that you would remove it. JVT went above and beyond with offers to you, which you have accepted. We care very much about our property and our residents and appreciate the opportunity to remedy any issue within our control.
I Just finished my first year here at Juneau village towers and have already signed for my second. I've been treated with the upmost respect and kindness I will be resigning for my 3rd year. The property manager Kim does her best to meet my needs in a timely manner and each time I'm pleased with our interactions. All the staff that works in the office is warm and welcoming any time of day I go in. The property itself is clean and properly maintained at all times of the year. I've never had any issues with my apartment that haven't been taken care of in an orderly time frame. Extremely thankful I found such a calm welcoming apartment complex to live in. Thanks, Corrie

There has been minimal problems since I moved in. One minor thing they had the onsite maintenance fix within a day or two. I thought parking was going to be an issue before, because its downtown... There has only been one day that I haven't found a spot on the same block. Most excellent. All the appliances are brand new, top of the line, air fryer built into the oven. I'm excited for the pool to open this summer. The neighborhood feels safe at night & people in the building are friendly. Bonus that there's a grocery store literally across the street. I have zero complaints and lots of praise for this spot.

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about JVT, but I’ve lived here for a year now and have had nothing short of a great experience. I live in a renovated, spacious one bedroom with an amazing city view and new appliances. I’ve never had any issues with bed bugs, roaches or bugs in general. The maintenance staff here are great and handle any requests almost always same day. The office staff are always friendly, helpful and attentive. I also feel super safe here since every door requires key access. I do plan on signing on for another year. I highly recommend the renovated units at this complex!!

Hi Alyssa, Thank you for sharing your first year experience online and we look forward to being able to maintain the level of service you have grown accustomed to as you renew your lease. We very much appreciate you taking the time to review JVT online! it is our pleasure to serve you :)
I've lived here for 3 years, and it's been great! The location is fantastic-- walking distance to deer district, lots of bars/restaurants, the lake, and Metro Market is right across the street which makes grocery shopping very convenient. The staff is helpful whenever I have issues, and maintenance is always quick. Whenever you receive a package, the office will hold onto it and notify you when it arrives which is great for security purposes. The windows were just replaced this past year, and provide tons of natural light-- especially great if you love plants! The pool, grills, and workout facility are all nice amenities and well-kept. I recommend living here! -Emily B.

You get a lot of value and service for your money here at JVT. The staff takes all your deliveries, so no worries about missing Amazon, Fedex packages. If you've got an issue inside your apartment, staff takes care of it within 24 hours. Then there's the outdoor pool, the largest in Milwaukee. The staff works hard to make sure it's open daily from Memorial through Labor Day. You can also grill all the burgers, franks and brats you want on the gas grills near the pool.

I'm coming up on my 5th year at JVT at the end of the summer and there are a few reasons specifically while I'll continue to rent here. 1. The Location! The Walkability is great. Granted, I'm a fairly quick walker...Cathedral Square and surrounding bars/restaurants is 5 minutes. Deer District is under 15. Third Ward is under 20. Brady Street around 20 as well depending on what part. Water Street is 5. It's incredible how much there is to do around here. You can walk, bike, run, uber, take the Hop. 2. Staff - the management has been steady for a few years now. Kim & her team does a great job managing all 3 buildings. Packages are delivered to the mail room and are in a locked office. Management hosts fun events throughout the year. Maintenance follows through in a timely fashion for requests. The grounds are kept in great condition - mowing, shoveling, etc. Only minor issue is the fault of *some* residents who are terrible people who don't pick up after their dogs...insanity. Can't wait for that karma :) This does not fall on maintenance or management though...not their job. 3. Apartment Units - A majority of the units have been remodeled. This was a non-negotiable for me...Washer/Dryer in unit (coin laundry - no thanks!!!) - can't believe people are still willing to do that :) - hardwood floor...much needed for my dog, and all new appliances as well. New windows, too, big upgrade from previous ones. 4. Amenities - Largest outdoor pool Downtown. Workout room with a fantastic view above 14th floor...I will say they need to upgrade the equipment...it's well overdue. But for free it's a great perk. Party room to reserve as well, also above 14th floor in different building. JVT has seen some great improvements since I've been here and happy to call it home!

Over the course of the past two years we have lived in both a 1BR (B Building) and now in a 2BR (A Building). Both units were in pretty nice shape overall, and the views of the city are really nice. We've only encountered a few minor maintenance issues, and they were all taken care of after we reported them. I've seen/heard of some negative reviews online, but we've only ever had positive experiences with the office staff and the complex as a whole. The pool area is always in really great shape, and it's a fantastic place to enjoy the summer months. The only two areas that could use a bit of attention are the sun roof on the C building, and the gym (nice overall but some equipment is breaking down). The location in my opinion is perfect for downtown living in MKE. You are close enough to walk to major attractions/necessities, but just far enough away that it's still fairly quiet here. There is a wide range in the general demographics living here, and neighbors are generally friendly. Overall, we've had a great experience living here and plan to stay for the foreseeable future. - Alex Hofstetter

Hi, Alex~ We want to thank you for your honest review of the overall property! There are plans in the works for upgrades to our exercise facility, common areas and so much more! I will look forward to sharing that information with you when I receive finalized details. We appreciate you and look forward to continuing to maintain Juneau Village Towers as a place you enjoy calling home~ thanks again!
Great place to live- walking distance of grocery, pharmacy, Lake Michigan, riverfront, Fiserv, Cathedral Square, & Hop stops. I've lived here since 2016 and remember being nervous based off previous reviews, so I've been meaning to leave one to help renters on the fence. No apt is perfect, but these last few years I've been SO pleasantly surprised with changes JVT has made (& importantly, MAINTAINED)! They listen to, and ask for, tenant input. They've fostered a community feel, with monthly newsletters, fun games with prizes, & tenant events (food truck, campfires, pool party, etc). Here are my honest takes on some issues from past negative reviews on this site & others: 1) My first couple years had huge turnover of managers (~6) & office staff (while not-so-great staff stayed). Since current manager, Kim, began a few years ago I've seen massive, sustained improvements living here! The current office staff are friendly, hard-working, and helpful (not-so-great staff are gone). I've appreciated their help navigating some stressful apt-living situations- always wishing I would've just talked to the office sooner! 2) Pests are difficult to avoid completely in any city apt, so it's important to know they have pest services set up & policies in place. A couple times during construction nearby with jackhammering (done now) or when fixing a wall, I found a few very small cockroaches. The office took it very seriously, quickly responding with someone to take care of it. They've even used preventative measures in the lower garages and in apts (all levels), and the service is very considerate of pets! It's been a couple years since I encountered any pests in my apt, and I believe its due to those changes. 3) I love the text service to notify about package deliveries & mass emails to communicate with tenants quickly. Recently they've updated toilets/smoke alarms/garbage disposals and fully installed brand new windows (built-in blinds)in both unrenovated & renovated apts! The shared laundry facility is actually pretty finished, well lit, and well kept! They service machines regularly and have a change machine. The last few years maintenance/the office is quick to respond and good at progress updates for longer fixes. Having 24 hour on call maintenance has saved me on multiple occasions! Changes made the last few years kept me at JVT and I would recommend living here to fully experience all downtown MKE has to offer! - Kelsey B.

I can't say enough about Juneau Village Towers!! It's been my home twice in the last 17 years!! You cannot ask for a better location, on the Hop line and walking distance to everything Downtown! Kim and her leasing staff are over the top!! Anything you need, they are there to assist you with a smile on their face always!! You can rest assured when your packages are delivered, they accept them and advise you via text that you have a package in the office. The outdoor pool is like a Resort Oasis! Heated pool, with huge Weber grills and great tables and plenty of chaise lounge chairs!! Very experience lifeguards on duty at all times! Have great neighbors and wouldn't want to live anywhere else!! Marcy

Hi Marcy- we so appreciate you and can't thank you enough for taking the time to write this review. You know we are here for you and consider you as part of our JVT family here! See you at the pool! Thanks again!
I’m going on my third year living at JVT & I would not want to live anywhere else!!! The apartments are beautiful, fully renovated, with an even better view- whether you’re overlooking the skylines beyond MSOE, or have a breathtaking capture of the lake, these views are stellar on a 360 degree angle. Not to mention the JVT staff goes above & beyond for every single one of their tenants. Everyone is always so kind, and if I have a maintenance request, the team works hard to promptly prioritize this. I’ve been living here as I finish school at UWMilwaukee, and there is a wide variety of ages who lives here- young people, families, and the older crowd. Not to mention the pool in the summer is the ultimate highlight! I would recommend this complex to EVERYONE I know who may be looking to move.

Junue Village Tower is a great apartment community for anyone looking to live in downtown Milwaukee. It is affordable, comfortable, and in a safe area. It is at walking distance to several amenities such as the MKE Hop Station, Metro Market grocery store as well as restaurants such as Bollywood Grill, Subway, Chipotle, Panera Bread, and others. Fun events in Milwaukee are close by such as Jazz in the Park. The apartments themselves are spacious and there is a fitness center, pool and a covered parking. The leasing office staffs are very attentive and the security staff is very good. Overall, one of the best places to live in Milwaukee, I have been a tenant for last 5 years and looking forward for more. ~Shailendra

We have had a great experience at JVT this past year! We are about to renew out lease for another year. Management is great, whenever an issue arises they are out to fix it within the next day or 2. The office staff is always super friendly and when we go pick up our packages they always give our dog a treat! We live in an updated unit and it's gorgeous. Awesome views of the city, and one of the most spacious apartments downtown, especially for the price. Super pet friendly and plenty of grass around the property for walks. Highly recommend!

Living in Juneau Village Towers was a pleasant experience. It was an impressive apartment to host friends and family with a view that allows you to truly see downtown Milwaukee. Any sort of minor problem I had in my unit management quickly resolved the issue that day. There’s a courtyard that is very well landscaped with a pavilion in the center. I woke up every morning to sip my coffee looking out at the lake with a nice breeze, the air just seems a bit crisper this high up. Theres new efficient appliances, a large island and a very open living space that makes gives the area a bigger feel. Overall my experience living there as been more than great.

Spent a long time touring to try and find the right spot. Spent some time with Janine looking today and she made the experience so pleasant, made me feel heard and I fell in love with the property. Pool, grills, all the beautiful space, the studio is essentially a one bed which is so unbelievably nice, amazing natural light and not to mention crazy wonderful kitchen. I really hope to make this my home the next few years!
Property Manager at Juneau Village Towers, Responded To This Review
Hi Victoria~ THANK YOU for taking the time to review your experience so far! We look forward to serving you here. I shared this with Janine and it put a huge smile on her face!
I lived in a newly remodeled studio in 2020 only to find my studio was infested with bed bugs in the walls! Even worse the management staff denied the big infestation, and even after The “bug guy” who has to come by every week sprayed treatment they kept coming back. Do yourself a favor and rent from somewhere not owned by Katz properties! Just look up when walking in the building to find the ceiling is about to cave in from water damage, you can see this from even the outside of property. Notice how they have something to say about every negative comment?
I have toured all the apartments in Milwaukee with comparable prices and the staff here, specifically Janine, have been absolutely wonderful. I toured twice and was not disappointed with the customer service or the quality in their property. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an openminded, clean, and caring community.

Hi Taylor, I'd like to extend a great big THANK YOU for taking the time to write this review! We are very much looking forward to servicing your future housing needs. Thank you for mentioning Janine, as she is vested in finding you the perfect apartment home. Thanks again!
Two words: Bed bugs! Run!! They are ridiculously priced and absolutely disgusting and clearly in need of a whole lot of repairs. I don't understand how they pass various state regulations with all those bed bug infestations, trash of a laundry room, years old cabinets and closets which are either broken or on the verge of falling out. Unsafe and unlivable conditions! Absolutely horrible apartments ever.
Of course location, location, location. Walk to Summerfest, Fiserv, Brady, 3rd Ward .... everywhere. The apartments have a lofty, large feel as opposed to similar spots near that just feel small and so apartment-like. Not here. Oh, all new windows being installed now! Yeah, views are incredible. I took city and sunset views and love it. Some prefer the Lake. As for the crew - best ever. Getting creative with stuff to do - today we have a popular Mexican food truck coming.

Kyle, THANK YOU for taking the time to write this review and for your loyal residency at Juneau Village Towers! We will continue to do our best for you and for all of our residents- see you at the next resident event!
Lived here between 2019- 2020 and wasn't particularly impressed with the building. You really are mostly paying for a location, which it's to be expected as it's in a pretty desirable spot only the poor management of this place is enough to drive anyone insane by the end of the lease. poor maintenance, lazy front desk staff and worst of all roaches. Any of the so-called amenities offered per apartment would break down constantly, my living room air conditioner was basically just a hole that went straight outside and it never got fixed because the property didn't want to replace it. when you would call for maintenance it was always a fight just trying to communicate the problem to the front desk, the staff would either put the wrong information in or wouldn't even open a ticket for whatever reason. when maintenance did actually show up you could always tell, not because of the notice of entry summary they left on your counter, because of the footprints they would leave all over the white carpet and the mess left behind in the apartment. I once found screws (Yes multiple) in my laundry when I was done running it. all this to say nothing of the roach problem which I had to call multiple times about. they would put me on the list to be sprayed but it wouldn't last very long, the problem is likely too deep in the building to do anything about at this point. not taking the proper time and expense to maintain a building is unfortunately what you should expect from a Katz property, you'll be better off paying a few hundred extra if you can afford it for another place not owned by this company. seriously, do your research before moving in. Katz is an extremely lazy company, I even cross research the five-star reviews on this site with Google and found within the same months they were posted not only matching reviews, but matching manager responses. The company that's too incompetent to be shady is just bad.

Akazea M..... I do not see that you were ever on a lease at our property... specifically what apartment do you state you lived in and how long ago did you leave? I would love to be able to dig into your comments by locating your tenant file as none of this sounds remotely familiar. Feel free to contact me any time at 414-272-7660. Your review and generalized comments are simply not a true representation of our property by any means~we have caring staff here who work diligently every day for our residents, our property DOES NOT have an infestation of any type, and we look forward to showing all of our prospective residents how lovely this property is. Please email or call us today for a tour, we are happy to help!
STAY AWAY!!!!! 1 star is being generous. This property is the furthest thing from "premier" as they state in their "premier katz property". Motel 6 is a 5 star in comparison to this place. In the summer, the hallways smell like garbage left out in the sun. Ants in the summer, ants in the winter, ants all year round. Ohh and cockroaches, big ones, small ones, you name it. They incapable of accurately billing you for rent hit you with fees and blame you for their mistakes. The commercial dryer has been "out of service" for 4 months. The elevators are bound to end a life. The doors don't close properly, they don't stop correctly at the floor, sometimes you free fall a short distance.

Daniel, I am surely surprised by your review. When you chose to set up multiple auto rent payment methods instead of choosing one, the bank deducted exactly what you authorized. Event then, your subsequent NSF fee was removed as a courtesy. Thank you for correcting that issue, as moving forward this will obviously not reoccur. Additionally, I do not see that you have ever reported a bug issue of any kind, and your elevator comments are not only untrue, but absurd. The one machine in the laundry room that you mention is purposefully not being replaced, as we are converting to machines that do not require quarters. I am available at any time to discuss the above, or anything else at the JVT office at 414-272-7660. Thank you. ~ Kim, JVT Property Manager
As far as downtown apartments go the place is pretty average. The living areas are spacious if abit bare bones, you get great views of the downtown area and you are walking distance from all the best bars and restaurants. I was living here from summer 2018 to summer 2020 and had a myriad of smaller issues with staff and maintenance but I probably would have stayed longer if it wasn't for how bad the roach problem had gotten. for the first year and a half I had probably only noticed about three or four roaches, usually dead, in the bathroom. not a deal but I figured if I kept the place relatively clean it wouldn't become an issue. At the start of 2020, go figure, I was cleaning up the bathroom when I noticed one wedged so far down the sink drain it was stuck. maintenance refused to clean it so I asked them to cover up an open vent in the bathroom that I figured it came in from. problem solved, for about a week, but by the end of the month I was getting three or four roaches a week in my kitchen now! call the front desk and they were able to get the place sprayed that week, but it didn't solve the problem it just killed the ones that got in so I didn't have to. I've seen some reviewers say that they didn't have any bug problems, I can guarantee there are roaches in buildings a and b (the tallest buildings) and all buildings are connected via the parking structure so I imagine c has them as well.
The staff at JVT are great at creating events for their residents even through COVID times. The location is amazing for the price, we are walking distance to every major area of Milwaukee. Overall my experience living at the JVT has been great and the heated pool is just an extra incentive!

Awesome apartment in downtown.Best part of this apartment is the living area which is having big windows and no issue of sunlight. Office people are very cooperative and proactive too. They always organize events that i love to participate. Maintain cleanliness. Have separate party hall and gym facilities.Pets are too allowed here. Have nice and well maintained swimming pool. Very nice view of downtown from the window.

Thank you for taking the time to review Juneau Village Towers! I will be sure to let everyone in the front office (especially "the artist") know that their efforts to make people feel welcomed here are not unnoticed!
I lived in this building in 2018 and my unit didn't only have cockroaches every day, but there was a mouse living under my fridge-- and I'm a clean person. It was gross. Plus the air conditioners do not cool it down very much, especially in the bedrooms. The pool is nice, but they open it late in the season and close it early.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property, although a review posted 2 years after your stay makes it difficult to speak of, as the entire staff here has changed from top to bottom as of about a year ago. For the record, JVT does boast the largest outdoor pool in the City of Milwaukee and our residents just love it! It is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day annually (longer if weather permits). Thank you again for your past residency.
