Property Ratings at KBL
Decent and relatively cheap place to live compared to other buildings in the Cambridge neighborhood. The buildings are very old and often run into frequent maintenance issues. If it doesn't happen in your unit, it's a great place to be at. But if you have to deal with maintenance issues, it can be a living nightmare.

KBL has large apartments for a reasonable price. The staff and maintenance of the facilities is good. While the apartments are older, they are well-managed and apartments are kept up to date.

Building is not insulated well at all. So it can be noisy. All the staff I?ve met so far and wonderful! Very helpful. I love the way they manage and take care of packages!

Good location, apartments are good size but lacking strong sound control between floors.

Very nice apartment, great location, fantastic service and people
Awesome building, friendly staff, great location
I have been very impressed by our KBL apartment. The people who we?ve worked with have been courteous, available, and reliable at all times. The location is superb, the price is fair, in the apartment is pretty nice. We really could not ask for much more.
I have lived at KBL for 3 years now and I love my apartment, the community events and the available amenities. It is a perfect place to raise my family
Coolest place I've ever lived
Current resident here. My experiences here have been far below par. Management and leasing are absolute wrecks. Laundry machines have been broken for over a year, repair requests are open for months. Floor renovations took almost a year. They also raised rent by 7% which is overpriced for this location imo. They don't treat KBL residents like they do at the other University Park locations. Also the color of the walls are nausea inducing. Only redeeming qualities are the folks at the front desk (shoutouts Katey and Richard!)
As a converted biscuit factory, KBL has character and charm. This residence is great for its proximity to the Central Square T stop, grocery store, and eclectic mix of restaurants on Massachusetts Avenue. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean, but carpet is everywhere and the kitchen/bathroom could use an upgrade. The laundry is also a bit expensive at $1.85/load and on the first floor, which is a bit disappointing when there is ample space in the rooms for a washer/dryer set. To those with little experience living in a city- beware of the many homeless and strange people lingering in Central Square. Nicer areas such as Davis Square and Back Bay are luckily only a short T ride away. I would rate KBL 2.5 stars if I could.
