Apartments for Rent in Kelsey City, West Palm Beach, FL
In 1919, Harry Seymour Kelsey arrived in Palm Beach County for the first time. He eventually purchased more than 100,000 acres, making him the county's largest land owner. He named his new town Kelsey City and he hired the Olmsted Brothers to lay out the town -- making it Florida's first planned community. In 1939, Kelsey City was renamed Lake Park. But to honor the town founder, a waterfront park was named for Kelsey. Lake Park Town Hall, built in 1927, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, Lake Park is a beautiful community located seven miles north of West Palm Beach. If you choose an apartment in Lake Park, you'll enjoy spending the afternoon at Kelsey Park, which overlooks the inlet and includes a large playground, a pavilion, and a walking path. With South Florida's white-sand beaches about two miles east, spend time surfing, beachcombing, and swimming at popular locations like Ocean Reef Park, an oceanfront park complete with bath houses and picnic areas.
