Property Ratings at Kensington Club
Like any huge development, there are some issues, but any issues I’ve had are taken care of basically immediately. It’s nice to live somewhere where the office staff realizes you’re a human just trying to make your home there. The location literally cannot be beat and the rent is a great price for the location! I would recommend Kensington to anyone moving to the area.
I should not move here, don't even look. We moved here thinking it's a safe and quiet environment to raise a child in, but it's not! There is a lot of police activity. A lot of drug dealers that live over here and a lot of car theft! The walls are SUPER THIN. Kensington Club is over priced! The lease terms SUCK. There's a lot of unnecessary fees you have to pay when you sign the lease. Once you move in, the customer service is HORRIBLE! My packages and mail have gotten stolen multiple times. The floors are so cheap, you can't mop them w out the floor coming up. First and last year here. I had two floods in my townhouse due to the water heater breaking and the second time, the washing machine.
This place is horrible. Completely unsafe. Maintenance never actually comes and if they do it’s days to weeks late and they fix it with duct tape no matter what it is. They over charge just to put money in their pockets because idk where else all the money would go. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. Only live here if you want you’re car broken into or your apartment want to listen to neighbors. It’s a full on scam and nothing is updated. They charge you with anything any chance they get!
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Police don't even recommend living here. NOT SAFE. First off, all the viewings are during the day and the demo unit you get to see is literally their best. I was fooled as were many others. The apartments are disgusting, maintenance takes forever to fix anything and your mail gets stolen. BUT HERE IS THE REAL REASON WHY NOT TO LIVE HERE. My car was vandalized here (they managed to jack up my car and steal the parts from underneath it with a battery powered saw) ,,, IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. Best part, when making a police report, the officer said it happens here alot, along with domestic violence cases, drug busts, and general thievery. People have broken into my friend's car numerous times and a huge drug raid happened here last November. Look it up, it's on Lancaster Online. There are NO cameras to protect you, lamp posts don't actually turn on at night, your front door does NOT actually lock and worst of all, when you tell them, they don't care. Your safety isn't of their concern apparently. Please, just save yourself from the terrible time that is being a resident here. P.S. "Free heat" because the cold air leaks right through your windows. :) OH and their pool? you can only use 2 months out of the year and is an additional cost when you sign. They don't tell you that. OH did i mention it's mandatory to pay the pool fee and clubhouse fee even if you don't use the amenities?
I moved from NY and I can say this community is fantastic. Its clean and quiet. The staff here is great and they are always there when I call. Anytime there are any issues maintenance is always on point. My kids can go play in the park with no worries. They love it here. The clubhouse is amazing. I plan to rent it soon. Its classy and clean. I know I made the right decision about moving here.
I have been living at Kensington club for 3 years now! The staff and matienance is top of the line. Not to mention their amazing ammenities. My family loves the pool, movie theatre, and dog park for our 3 dogs!! Every month the staff at Kensington club has a resident event. We have enjoyed the pool party's, ice cream nights, and the Easter egg hunt every year. Our apartment has tons of closet space and amazing natural light! I would highly recommend Kensington club to anyone moving to Lancaster.
I moved across the country to Lancaster in February 2015 so I chose this place sight unseen. Bad decision on my part. The maintenance staff takes weeks to fix basic necessities like lighting in the stairwells. Security was concerning, with locks not working properly and dark parking lots. And the walls are very thin so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. Police officers looking for people became a common theme on the weekends. They do pay for the heat, which is nice, but the rental costs differ from apartment to apartment so that my neighbor paid $200 more than me for the exact same floor plan and upgrades.
They just care about your money, after signing the lease you get ignored, This place is overpriced and maintenance refuses to do their jobs you have to put in several request in order to be heard. For example, my window had a crack and I notified maintenance, they came and measured my window and never came back to fix the problem. The walls are paper thin I can hear my neighbors passing gas in the other apartment. Oh and when it comes time to moving out don't even bother looking for you security deposit because 9/10 you're not going to get it back, they'll hit you with all types of fees because they expect you to return the apartment in an even better condition than they rented it to you.
This was possibly the worst decision of my entire life. I moved here in October of 2014, just as the owner was switched out to Kensington Club. This is my first apartment and it is stressful living here. All they do is lie to you to get you to sign the contract. Don't buy into the extravagance they sell, Kensington Club is anything but.
Everything you could possibly want.Large living spaces, lots of natural light.Very private and scenic. The additional outdoor spaces, very large pool, playground, tennis court and basketball court. A lovely community building with a large room, for parties,a billiards room, theater room and Kitchen. You also can use the "gym" and workout on several machines. If you are a pet lover, they can live here.I use public transportation and they come here, several times a day.If you have any problems, they are very quick to respond.
I have lived at two places in Kensington Club: a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse, and a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. Both are very nice inside, spacious, and well lit. The few problems I have are maintenance issues: the washer/dryer, both machines tend to stop working for random reasons, no matter how many times maintenance fixes them, and the bathrooms--the showers/baths are a little outdated, and a bit cramped. Great kitchens on the other hand! While the buildings are not the most picturesque, the facilities make up for it: a beautiful, large pool (that never seems to get crowded!), tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, a small gym and a clubhouse make for a great community location. Its in a quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes from downtown, and the perfect place for anyone from college students to families. I would definitely recommend!
The people in the leasing office are so rude. They are nice at first but as soon as you sign they are mean. They are always changing office people. So don't expect the same people ever. When we moved in our washer was broken, all the closet doors were put on backwards and upside down so you could barely open them and all the outlets were put in upside down. The 3rd bedroom is not a bedroom it's a closet so don't pay the extra. They also take the entire security deposit no matter what they place looks like. They'd are you get the carpets cleaned but they replace them anyway and the comes out of your security deposit. Out garage disposal broke and they came and fixed it but then left black stuff all over the wall and was suppose to come back and paint it and never did. They steal your money. Just don't do it. Cars get broken into and they is a lot of shady things going on there. I say keep looking.
