Enjoying the fruits of an exhilarating economic development effort, Asheville is arguably one of the most exciting communities in the southeast today—imagine Austin in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In recent years, Asheville has consistently been named one of the smartest, happiest, and overall best places to live in America by magazines such as Forbes and Travel & Leisure.
So what makes Asheville so special? The eclectic local culture combines the best elements of a resort town, an entrepreneurial hub, and a bohemian artists’ community. Gorgeous mountain views are everywhere, and outdoor enthusiasts have no shortage of nearby trails to explore, whether they’re hiking, biking, or skiing. The city itself offers a huge variety of restaurants, as well as an impressive array of breweries. The music scene has something for every taste as well, with the most popular musical attractions including the Asheville Symphony Orchestra and the weekly downtown drum circle.

Property Ratings at Kensington Place
As our time at Kensington Place Apartments drew to a close, it was evident that this place has succumbed to a pattern of mismanagement and neglect. This experience has imparted a cautionary lesson about the importance of diligent property oversight and the impact of staff turnover on resident satisfaction. I urge BCS Holdings to reevaluate their practices, retrain their staff, and renew their commitment to their tenants.

LOVE Kensington Place! It is such a convenient location and close to everything in South Asheville. I've lived at Kensington since 2018 and do see us moving anytime soon! They are very pet friendly and the apartments are spacious. The Community Manager, Susie, is great to work with and maintenance is so helpful.

Thank you for your excellent review! We are glad you have been impressed by our convenient location, pet-friendly community, and helpful team, especially Susie. Your kind comments have made our day.
These people are not trustworthy. They are charging me a totally nonsense fee four months after I moved out for alleged pet odor, when my cat definitely never had any kind of accident on that carpet. It's a straight up lie, they're just terrible, money grabbing landlords and are not to be trusted under any circumstances. 0/10, would not recommend.
Kensington Place is a great apartment complex. Very convenient location in South Asheville. Beautiful trees and flowers. Love my apartment and the grounds. Really awesome neighbors and staff.

I have lived here for a few years now and just love it! Probably my favorite apartment I have had. Beautiful landscaping, pet friendly, great staff, and really convenient location.

Thank you for sharing your great experience. Please let us know if you need anything! Thanks KP office
I've lived here since 42017 and don't plan on moving ever again. I love my home. I live on the second floor right close to Sweeten Creek and I would never know it. I never hear my neighbors and I think these are the most soundproof apartments I've ever lived in. I retired here from Atlanta and I wish I would of found these first. The staff are great and go out of their way to do what they can for you. You can tell they love and care about the property, residents and enjoy working here. I've never seen any turnover in staff. Maintenance is knowledgeable and get to your requests very quickly. I feel safe and happy here as do my cats. If you want a home then look no further.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are so lucky to have such a great community! Please let us know if you need anything. Thanks KP office
The on site staff here is very knowledgeable, warm, friendly, & truly invested in the success of this apartment community. Im beyond impressed although i'm not technically even a resident yet. After touring over 25 local apartment communities in the past 2 weeks the warmth of this community was the final determining factor in choosing what apartment was the best fit for my family. Thank You to the staff at Kensington Place! I look forward to a long & happy rental experience here at this apartment community!!!
Moving into Kensington was a great experience. The ladies in the office were very patient with all my questions and inquiries. The apartment is well appointed and I love the big closets. The location is perfect in reference to my job and everything else I like to do. The biggest thing is I am able to keep my dog there, an 85 lb chocolate lab. Maintenance is prompt to respond to any issues around the apartment and in the complex, keeping the grounds really nice. Thanks for a smooth first apartment move in!

Thank you for your review! We are very happy to hear that we have made your first apartment experience an enjoyable one. You pointed out some key points that we really take pride in here at Kensington. Hopefully you will make this your home for years to come.
Ive been here a year in August. I've had a couple of issues but they were fixed accordingly. Had lost my debit card and it was right around for rent and they worked with me. I recently needed my locks changed like ASAP and it took maintenance 15 to come and change them. I have little issues but who doesn't.....All in all I have no regrets moving here. Communication is the key along with a great attitude and you can't go wrong
My Family and I have been living here for over a year, We thought since we have children it would be wise for us to live on the bottom floor to be considerate to our neighbors but boy were we mistaken. You can hear your neighbors going up and down the stairs as if they were in your bedroom, Not only that but my headboard is on the wall where the staircase is and my bed shakes when people stomp their way down/up the stairs. You can hear their conversations clearly and loudly. I don't know how many times the Washing machines ate my money and I had to call the company to get it back, Let's not talk about the half job they do to "Repair" whatever needs fixing. If were going to pay this much for rent they should at least do a decent repair job. I hope you like an expensive heating bill in the winter because there's NO insulation in these apartments so whatever you're pumping out in the heat you're letting out altogether. The Tennis Courts are horrible you can barely play there due to all the cracks and uneven floor. Parking is outrageous, People park in 2 parking spots... I don't know how many times kids almost got hit in the morning by a car due to careless drivers. We cannot wait for our Lease to be up to Move out.

I had recently retired in another state and was looking forward to moving back to NC, for a third time. I found Kensington Place Apartments online and, was impressed with its location and proximity to downtown Asheville and easy access to the highways/interstates, and the price...the affordability. I can actually afford a 2-bed/2-bath myself. I have an extra room for: guests, man cave, hobby room, etc... From the first time I contacted the office of Kensington Place I was greeted with professionalism and eager pro-activeness to help my smooth transition into my apartment. The office staff, the property manager and assistant manager, helped me to choose an available apartment unit to best suit my needs and wishes. I believe the great environment of this property and the community's residents has actually lowered my blood pressure. The maintenance staff have been prompt with my issues and the grounds crew keep the place looking charming. To every one of the Kensington staff, I say, "Thanks."
I'm not sure how since Apartments.com is supposed to be in charge of these reviews but my last review was changed. I gave them a bad review for very legitimate reasons and the very end of my review was deleted and a bunch of random things that make no sense were added to it (I'm guessing so people reading the review wouldn't take it seriously). I've lived here for less than a year and numerous things have broken, maintenance is a joke, the ladies in the office are either rude or incompetent. The "city" is constantly working on the water so that it is turned off for residents for hours with no advance warning. So you wake up to get ready for class or work and the joke is on you, you can't shower or brush your teeth. This has happened probably 4-5 times in less than a year. It's funny I've never lived at any other place where the city did so much work on the pipelines without ever warning the office that water would be off for hours. Let's see how long this review is up before someone alters it!

We understand your frustrations. Our community does rely on the City of Asheville for water and sewer services. The City of Asheville provides online and telephone services that notifies citizens and estimates water outages when they occur. Although these things can not typically be predicted, we are confident that the City of Asheville and our maintenance staff take care of the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible. I wish we could notify our residents in advance but unfortunately it is out of hands. We do apologize for any inconvenience.
I had such a good experience with the people here. I didn't hear any of my neighbors except for the next door ones. The electric bill was cheap and it was awesome living here. I wish I could move back in. I was from out of state and they were very accommodating to me.
