Famous for its ties to American history, Alexandria today remains a popular city — not just for tourists but also for those who work for the government. Located southwest of Washington, D.C., the west end Alexandria neighborhood of Landmark/Van Dorn has become a culturally diverse place for commuters to live.
Landmark/Van Dorn sits 5 miles due west of the downtown Alexandria waterfront, making a walk along the Potomac River only 15 minutes away. With the neighborhood outside of Old Towne, the close Metro line makes going downtown simple, yet residents can enjoy their local parks and restaurants without the influx of tourists.
Known for its luxury car dealerships, high-end rentals in Cameron Station, parks and diverse grocery stores, Van Dorn benefits from being a part of a community that, with over 900 acres of protected open space and a commitment to be biker and pedestrian friendly, makes Alexandria well worth the investment to live in.

Property Ratings at Key Towers
The place is infested with roaches. The hallways smell of trash. The all but one member of the leasing office team is useless. A neighbor on my floor took all of their family arguments into the hallway. I could go on and on….

Sierra, we're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your experience at our community. Please stop by our office to discuss your concerns.
Do not live here. When I first moved in to my apartment I saw mice. I asked managed to fix it and they never did. Then after months and months of begging they let me change apartments and now there are roaches everywhere. In my dishwasher of all places. I have to take the trash out daily and swifter and sweep and wipe things down to keep it semi normal. None of the apartments are sealed up so no matter what you do bugs show up. Don’t live here at all!!!!

Joe, we're sorry to hear that you've encountered ongoing pest concerns. Please contact our team to schedule a treatment.
I loved the way it looked online, and when shown a great apartment, however, I was given an apartment that was not updated, didn't have a microwave and had issues from the beginning. The apartment had a strange cleaner smell, and sure enough someone left a rag behind that was "used for cleaning". Mouse droppings were everywhere. Once cleaned the apartment was nice, however a few months in I saw one mouse, a big pregnant one. During the winter the heaters didn't work and they brought space heaters because they couldn't fix the issue. Spring came around and the A/C didn't work, it took until about 6 weeks before I moved for it to be fixed. I caught at least 17 mice in 10 months. The management are horrible at this place. No one is helpful. I was told by management (never know who is the manager, because no one stays more than a month) that I was the first person to talk about a mice issue, which is an outright lie. Parking is abysmal and there are lots of shady looking people always walking in the area, that are not residents. There is no where to park for visitors. I had been actually towed while living here. The only good person was the sweet lady who cleaned the front are of the apartment.

We're sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations. Our team strives to resolve any maintenance or environmental issue in a timely manner, and we regret that we missed the mark with you. If you'd like to discuss your lingering concerns, please give us a call.
Horrible place. I loved it online and fell in love seeing it in person. Lots of light, parking. But it's gone to absolute garbage since. Maintenance issues are rarely resolved or just acknowledged and ignored, mostly because "some part will take months and months to deliver." Constant leaking, maintenance will either not fix or randomly enter the house, fix, and leave a huge mess. They used my towels and my kitchen stuff to clean and fix the last time and I had no choice but to throw it all away because of how terrible they left it all. They suddenly added new rules about no doormats and threw away everyone's mats. They suddenly removed all laundry machines except from the basement, and their prices are constantly going up. The manager has so much attitude and threw "the rules" in my face over and over to overcharge me at move out. Office folks are rarely in the office, always out doing a "walk through or using the bathroom." Always a line outside the office of people waiting for 30 mins minimum. Some floors frequently smell like garbage (literally). There was a list of things wrong when I moved in (bedroom ac didn't work, oven broken, etc) that they didn't fix, even by the time I moved out, despite me reminding them monthly. Constantly people in my parking spot and no parking reinforcement. When I visited the first time to see a unit, they showed a very well done apt and at move in, pushed me into a apt that hadn't been maintained or cleaned for a year. Even the carpet was covered in stains and took them a very long to replace. I hate to list so many complaints but I've had a very bad experience with this building and as I moved out, spoke to the other tenants and many of them plan to move out soon for similar reasons. Move in at your risk.

We're sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations. While we recognize that there's always room for improvement, our team works hard to provide residents with a superb living environment. We wish you the best.
Evacuated for a week in mid-July, no reimbursement as of September 23rd. Every window leaks, management says they can't be fixed. Mold under carpet. Bedroom AC was broken for ALL OF AUGUST. Mailboxes broken for the first 4 months I lived here, sometimes post office wouldn't leave mail because it could not be secured. They turn off the water for several hours at least every other week. Cockroaches, noisy, smells bad, it's disgusting. Elevator frequently smells like urine. No where for visitors to park.
The WORST living experience, since the day we moved in we've had countless issues with our A.C and management simply does not care. We've given them enough time to find a solution to this problem now it's close to end of our lease and thought we should share our honest experience, Maintinace team will show thier face and leave with temporary solution and before you know it your facing the same issue OVER and over becuse they don't bother to provide permanent fix. Even tho the outside temperature is above 90 they don't bother to come check/fix your AC problems wright away but are obligated to do so by law and the lease agreement. This issue is not only during summer but in winter as well, your money is much better spent else where than at key towers. Old building, cheap appliances and no permanent solution to the problems they have in their units. We can go on and on about the issues in this building but over all total disappointment.
Frankly, worst place I've ever lived. Insulation and windows might as well not be there because the outside air, wind and bugs easily enter the apartment. The heating/AC units are energy guzzlers that do not properly heat or cool a 2BR apartment. The smells from others' apartments is atrocious, unless you like the smell of weed being smoked. Management didn't do much to stop those violating the no smoking facility, which Key Towers is not. The laundry room is a joke, and the washer and dryers are always broken. Parking is absolutely stupid. It's like living in a dorm with their tow policies. Also, paying for parking you would expect cameras to help deter crimes. No cameras, and I saw another tenant's car broken into and on blocks one morning. Noise from the 395 is never-ending, with constant road noise and sirens. Elevators are small; so if moving with big furniture, you will have problems. Also, don't move on the weekends as you never know what excrement you might find on the elevator floor. The maintenance and janitor staff are great, and do what they can with a really crappy building. The location is near lots of shopping and other points of interest. However, the negative far outweighs the positives. Spend the extra money on better apartments, and save yourself the hassle.
