Since the end of the 20th century, Akron has largely reinvented itself and retained its status as one of the prime cities of the Midwest. Known for years as the “Rubber Capital of the World,” Akron was once a center for technological innovation. Today, this cultural center offers all the urban conveniences of a big city like Cleveland, but in a more intimate setting.
The nearly 20,000 students at the University of Akron heavily influence the city’s culture. Between the Zips sporting events and arts community on campus, there’s a vibrant feel to the city center, not to mention the bars and restaurants that cater to such a crowd. Grades K-12 have plenty of highly-rated schooling options as well. The Plaza at Chapel Hill houses a variety of stores and shops that will delight any shopper, and the Akron Zoo is a must-see for visitors and residents alike.

Property Ratings at King Apartments LTD
Their particular move in special they had when I got my place is the reason I was able to move sooner than I thought I could. They held the apartment I wanted for longer than I could have hoped for (I think some of this went hand in hand with the move in special that was available to me). Its a gorgeous apartment in a nice little area. As a single person I just didn't think Id get a place as wonderful as I have. Very affordable. The staff phone system was a little confusing for a bit as it would ring and not let me leave messages sometimes but they have since resolved that phone issue. They have been kind and helpful. I did have maintenance issues when I moved in...quite a few. However, their maintenance man Nate has been here multiple times and gave my issues his full attention! I am now living comfortably and am so thankful for this new home.
I was hesitant moving from a house to an apartment. Kylie was wonderful showing me available spaces and guiding me through the process. Bill from maintenance is friendly and quickly addressed my concerns. Now that I’m settled, it feels like home!
Only been here a short time but it’s so much better than my last place and cheaper I love that and o love sitting by the water !
I like the apartment and the location, it’s safe and peaceful. Emergencey Maintance was so helpful
The apartments are full of mice, bugs, and are slowly rotting. Good luck getting maintenance to actually fix anything properly. Maintenance will just patch over leaks and gaslight you. It’s also becoming apparent that a few, luckily low cost/ importance items are missing from my apartment…(granted at least a few of the items might have been genuine mistakes such as some personal tools) Management is largely unresponsive and disorganized. They don’t update their tenant information, sending me letters with the wrong address/name/email/ phone number. They talk down to you when they are clearly at fault. Rules are also inconsistently enforced solely to squeeze more money out of you. The area surrounding the apartments is constantly filthy, and there is consistent gunfire. The gunfire is likely target practice but it’s very close to residential areas and at all hours of the night. There is also a car number of drunk people walking around at night making it somewhat dangerous coming home from work at night. Even though the rent is cheap and there nearby highway access, this complex is not worth even a $100 a month. Spend the extra couple hundred a month on a nicer place with competent management, your safety and sanity is worth it!
I just moved here and the leasing staff was helpful and friendly. The new residence is quiet and feels like a safe neighborhood.
The leasing process was super easy and Vanessa was great to work with. Always a special for move in! Loving my new apartment and the location.
I have only lived here a month but the neighbors are quiet and the apartment is cozy.

Thank You Michael!! Welcome and we are glad to have good tenants like you!!
My stay here was horrible i stayed for 2 years the first year was cool then the 2nd year my apartment flooded i lived next to the laundry room so they closed down the laundry rooms. They had meth heads staying here always messing up the laundry rooms i ended up getting roaches bad and their bug guy does nothing i wouldn’t recommend staying here just because the rent was cheap doesn’t mean anything they do the bare minimum there isn’t enough parking spaces you have to pay extra to get a parking spot reserved being a new mom and having to walk far from your apartment with a baby carrier isn’t the best option
I have to start off saying Tiffany my leasing agent is wonderful. She went above and beyond for me having such patience and being so kind. Working with me while I was in New York to get me here. When I met her to move in she was so sweet and helpful taking her time to read everything of the lease and showing me where everything is. The apartment is beautiful my stove is new and the floors are gorgeous. Even the bathroom has the same Floors. It’s a roomy one bed apartment. I love that every month they include a free of charge pest treatment. And so far I haven’t had one issue. I called maintenance twice and both times the response time was so quick and the man they sent Sasquatch (which he called himself) is exceptional. So knowledgeable and got everything fixed for me right away. I see him sometimes when I was just outside and always waving and smiling he is definitely an asset to the complex. I truly can’t say anything bad or negative. From what I see and my experience they care about the tenants and are trying to keep this a safe clean place to live. And I appreciate every minute of it. They have all made me and my kids feel at home here in Ohio. Thank you so much.
I am loving the woods and water. Neighbors I have met are very nice and friendly. Just moved in and the office staff was very helpful and friendly. I think I’m really going to like it here.
We have a beautiful view of lake and wildlife. Families appear to keep to themselves, but that is fine. Maintenance is in need of much help, service is very slacking. But we have been here nearly 5 years. Office personnel are very cordial and follows up. Parking has since improved since we purchased parking spot.
Its a calm & peaceful community. Has a few convenient locations on the grounds. A convenient store ran by nice people, a Laundromat with great hours, and a cool Bar for evening entertainment. The workers in the Management office are nice and understanding. Its a Great Place to Stay if you want peace of mind.
I've been living here for almost 3yrs. I love it very quiet everyone is nice and most of all the lake is right there and a walking trail.
very quiet if u pay rent ahead of time they give u ten dollars off staff is nice maintenance are nice nice big lake
Have enjoyed living here for 10 years. I appreciate the view of the lake, the opportunity to fish and see the wildlife. It's convenient to stores or just to take a walk on the towpath. The staff is always helpful whenever needed. I think living here for 10 years truly reflects what a great place this is to live.
I have a great apartment and a wonderful view of the lake and no problems. I enjoy living here.
Very nice place to quiet and cozy next to the lake where i can fish everyday
Office Staff is always friendly, helpful, and respond quickly. Never have any issues
Very nice location and peaceful! The price is wonderful and the staff from office to maintenance are very nice and helpful!
The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. They help with issues that may arise in a timely manner. I have noticed updating with the units being accomplished around the complex. There has been positive changes around the Shoreline Beach club community!
They have mice, they have cockroaches in all apartments. Wasn’t late on my rent and they forgot to notate I paid and came by with an eviction notice. Thank god I had my receipt. I have had nothing but a disgusting and miserable living experience since I’ve lived here within the past 12 months. I was warned about this place but didn’t listen. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
I love living at shoreline beach apartments! They are very well managed, and clean!
I’ve been living here for almost two years in February and I like the fact that the people are good around here to others, management is great and they help out when and if you ask for it, but it is a great place
I have lived at King Apartments for almost a year now, and I love it! The people at the front office are always very helpful and kind, maintenance always comes in a timely manner if needed, and living by the water is beautiful! I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone I know! :)
The first time I ever even looked at the apartments Karima was such a big help. I have never had a rude encounter with anyone in the leasing office. Its actually a great place to stay, nice view by the lake and great people
The leasing agents are pure AWESOME! They are really helpful and straight forward. Karima is really nice and Kaitlyn is JUST the best. Really helpful and nice. Nice apartments of course but when the people are nice, sometimes you just wanna go where everybody knows your name. ??
we went to see see the apartments and when we got there they where rude and seems like they did not want us there
I’ve lived at Shoreline Beach Club for a year in July and it has been a wonderful stay! The calm water of Lake Nesmith and the State Park walking trail are two great features of living at Shoreline! The laundry mat is very close, so you don’t have to go far! It’s super affordable, very spacious, and if you like quiet, it’s very quiet as well!
I've visited this apartment complex many times and I'm very impressed with what I see. My younger sister lives here, so as an older brother I'm very protective but the area is super convenient. There's shopping and dining just down the road, the expressway not even 2 minutes away, it's certainly made her commute to work easier. And seeing her apartment, I was surprised to learn how affordable their prices were. I often hear how happy she is with her experience, how friendly the Leasing and Main Office staff are, and how efficient Maintenance is if she has an issue. I will say that this is a great place to serve as someone's first apartment! Definitely worth giving them a call!
Come June, I'll have lived here for a year! I absolutely love walking out the door in the morning to the calm waters of Lake Nesmith! It's such a convenient location, my apartment is extremely affordable and my neighbors are super friendly! If I had any issue, Maintenance was always on top of it and communicating with me in a timely fashion. The staff here are very respectable, detail oriented, and they always ask me how my day is! I've also noticed a few changes during my time here and I'm looking forward to the possibility of updates within our little community here at Shoreline Beach Club Apartments. It's a double thumbs up for me!
Stay away from these apartments. Apartments are old, everything is falling apart. Maintenance takes forever to come, and they try just patch it, not trully fix or replace what is bad. Have to call them multiple times for same thing. Management is just lying. There are bugs, ants, bees everywhere. This is not just 1 building, it is same thing for whole complex. Every year they raise price. Every year they say this is final price, no more increases, but they always lie. For few dolars more, go to nicer place. These apartments are not worth it.
it is a calm place with green area.also it is affordable.i am living in 1 bedroom apartment.you can go fishing in the lake nearby and enjoy the environment.
I moved to my current place to save money and it is not so bad but I no longer have some of the good things I used to have such as swimming pool , gym , play ground , party room ,etc . I do not like the quality of the carpet and also the appliance in the kitchen . but since I am saving money I have been here now 2 years but thinking to get a better lace again .
Riding off Manchester rd.in Akron Ohio, you will find a large group of apartments known as the shoreline Apartments. The apartments are rented out by an array of different people from many different lifestyles and backgrounds, you'll never know what or who you will run into. The people and staff that live here are usually very nice and it remains surprisingly quiet all day and night. There is a lake on the outskirts of the apartments where people like to socialize and relax.I personally don't utilize the lake but it, sure is nice to look at. Most of the apartments are single room or double room apartments. My apartment is a double room, that comes with a small kitchen and restroom. My apartment also has a small patio that i use to grill many of my dinners during the summer. There is a laundry room and there are no pets allowed in the apartments. If your looking for a small place to live outside of the city that is quiet, I would recommend these apartments.
It is a nice quite area where.I am located in the back part very peaceful and pleasant. Everyone is friendly if you need a hand . Nice Place to Live.
I moved to Shoreline Beach Club last July. I was a bit hesitant because of the negative reviews that I had seen on here. However, I actually ended up having a really good experience here. I moved out here because I was finishing up my Masters degree and needed a place that was quiet and near the University of Akron. I just have to say - I loved the surrounding area. My apartment overlooked the Ohio Canal and had the Towpath running right behind it. It was amazing to be able to go out on my balcony and just enjoy nature without having to actually leave. Also, my apartment (1 BR) was spacious and I felt very comfortable. In addition, the office staff and maintenance crew did a fantastic job working with me, as well as the other tenants in my building. Overall, I have had absolutely no regrets with living at the Shoreline Beach Club for the past year and I will actually miss it when I move out at the end of this month.
This isn't really a bad place to live, the atmosphere is nice and your right by the lake, but my only issue is the roaches. I hate roaches and if I would have known about this before I moved in I wouldn't have moved in. So if your ok with roaches my apartment should be free in a few months.
Too much miscommunication. They tell you one thing and then someone else tells you something completely different. Maintenance issues also do not get taken care of when an order is put in for something needed. They also require you to paint and clean upon moving out or be charged. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Property Manager at King Apartments LTD, Responded To This Review
I'm very angered by the paint this, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my walls except that they have mold everywhere.. which obviously the maintenance didn't fix for the ten months i complained about it. Very upset. normal cleaning and maintenance should not be the renters responsibility.. they make enough off of us month to month.. stop taking advantage.
looking for place for my 88 yr old mother, area seemed to be well taken care of and clean (no trash etc.) more of a place for younger folks, not suitable for mom.
