Property Ratings at Kingston Pointe Apartments
They are always changing management and this newer management Calibrate is the greediest of them all... not only does rent and everything else constantly go up, the parking space cost does too... when I first moving here they charged $85 a month for parking (the free outside parking is used up by the people that live in the apartments across the street so you have to buy parking) My wife has a parking spot literally next to mine and her monthly parking cost is $100... together im paying $185 a month for 2 parking spaces that's literally side by side(at a place I LIVE thats $2220 a year for a garage space at my home)... these people had gotten so greedy they they took away the visitor parking for a couple months and was trying to charge people $100 to have that spot for 3 days so my mom and family could never find a spot and they would just go home.. I guess no one was buying and and they turned it back to free parking... they charge you for pest control monthly (its mouse traps in the garage i don't know why we are charged for that) we get charged MONTHLY for common area maintenance (when they are working on something for the BUILDING we pay for it... every month) if we lose our keys and need to be let into our apartment and the office is closed its now $150 (it used to be $50 when I moved in) we get charged extra for everything but they throw pointless community parties and outside workout sessions for the tenants and constantly offer donuts and pastries monthly.. (I see were all the extra money goes now) my personal opinion is that they could keep all of those extra parties, theater tickets and pastries. and stop going up on the rent... if you really want to treat us good as tenants just know we dont care about the cancerous snacks and parties.. we care about being charged for the things you're supposed to handle... other than that the apartment is very nice other than the random pops and clicks that I hear through the walls when I'm trying to meditate... This review is strictly on the company... I was even charged $10 to create a online online to look at my rent lol I love the view but its penny pinching at its finest. One more thing no matter how much they come fix my garbage disposal it stops working after a few weeks and the sink gets clogged.
Besides the ideal location, the apartments are wonderful! Large closets and bathrooms, floor to ceiling windows and stainless appliances. Incredibly quiet building as well as super convenient to the Metra and shopping. We love it here! Great management of the building! Joe, Morgan and Javier are an incredible team.

The management is amazing! Anytime, I have a question I reach out to the property manager, Joseph and he gets back to me right away. This building and property is by far the prettiest place I have ever lived. There is a package room that you can access 24/7, which is really nice knowing my items are safe and I can grab them when it is most convenient for me. They have a 24/7 gym and a bark park for your pets. The unit itself is beautiful and I love the laundry room inside our unit. Everything I need is here at Kingston Pointe. I am so happy that I moved here.

It is a joy that our staff experiences your happiness and comfort. The convenience of the package room and the 24-hour fitness center makes life for our residents easier. Thanks again for the shout out!!! We appreciate you!
Love these apartments and more importantly the Management here is top notch. Joe is alway willing to listen to issues, gets to know you on a friendly basis. All the other staff is really friendly, Javier in maintenance is very nice and respectful. The apartments themselves are great. It can be -15 degrees outside and will stay high 60's in the house. The floors are thick so you can hardly hear your neighbors. If you have a dog, there is a nice little dog park attached to the property, close to the Des Plaines trail for easy walks.

Kingston Pointe is a great place to call home. The property manager, Joe, is the friendliest person you'll meet and makes you feel at home. Very welcoming to pets, they love their dogs. Our dog loved being able to see and play with other dogs in the building, as well as playing in the small fenced in park they have. We can't say enough great things about Kingston Pointe, it's the best!

I love this apartment. I have been here for a year and a half. The staff (Especially the manager Joseph) are so attentive and always helping you with whatever you need and really get to know you. The units are super nice, and not ONCE in my time here have I heard any neighbors. I felt like I was in my own house. The units are very very nice, with high ceilings and large windows with a sliding door that makes it feel like your downtown living. If I didn't have to move to do location purposes for my family and work then I would honestly stay here for a long time. I've lived in 2 different apartment complex's and this by far has been the best experience.

Big shout out to Joe and the entire staff at Kingston Pointe. They are constantly updating the apartment complex with new and fun items, run social events, and are hands down the best for pets. I know there is a lot of competition in the area but so long as this staff is here there is no reason to look elsewhere. Kingston Pointe is willing to help however they can, no matter the issue! If I wasn't relocating for work I would still be here. Thank you Joe!

Great location, beautiful apartments and wonderful management. Joseph’s assistance with move-in process was exceptionally outstanding - very friendly and always ready to help. I also would like to say thank you to Javier and his maintenance team for a great job in the apartment - everything that needed to be fixed in the kitchen and in the bathroom was fixed the way it should be. Great place and wonderful people. Best regards, Alicja

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any issues, as we are always here to help! Thanks!
I have been here 6 years. Positives include the location to expressway and train. Negatives that will be considered in my choice to renew is the lack of visitor parking. Tenant garage parking used to be included and now that it is an additional fee, many residents tie up the free outside parking especially on nights and weekends. Floor to ceiling windows are great but they haven't been washed on the outside in years. Pictures were removed from the hallways but nail patches haven't been repainted in months. The garage hasn't been power washed in years. Every Saturday morning at 630am, the garbage truck shows up and bangs metal dumpster containers for 30 mins on the Northside of building (this used to be done during the week when everyone is generally at work). Also, one has to be prepared to move out annually as the rent has increased significantly each year.

My name is Valerie and I currently assist in overseeing Kingston Pointe Apartments. I am so sorry to hear that you have not had great experience at the community. We took over management in October 2017 and are actively trying to better the community. In regards to parking, we are working on rolling out a Parking Permit program, in which all residents will be required to display a vehicle sticker. This will help the management to know which vehicles are resident’s vehicles and which are truly visitors. Since we took over management in the Fall, we unfortunately have not had the opportunity just yet to address items such as the power washing or window cleaning, but it is absolutely something we have looked into. As for the hallways, the will be undergoing a change, just as the main area recently has. In regards to the hours the Trash Removal Occurs, we are working with the vendor to see if we are able to get on a different schedule. We are always looking to improve and appreciate your feedback. We are here in the office 7 days a week and invite you to come in so we can address any questions or concerns you may have.
Since, there have been a couple negative reviews recently, I wanted to provide a positive one. Although the management has changed a few times recently, it has not negatively affected my experience here. I’ve had to contact the office a few times for minor maintenance issues and maintenance has responded in a lightning fast way and tended to my requests. They are wonderful. The apartments are spacious with great windows and balconies. I love having my own laundry room and the heated garage is awesome. The area is quiet, walkable to restaurants, the grocery store, and public transportation. It has easy access to the city or other suburbs. I would recommend.

Thank you so much for the kind review! We are so happy to hear that you love it here at Kingston Pointe, just as much as we do! If there is ever anything that you need, please do not hesitate to let us know.
This place is going down hill fast. You have to request to get your hallway vacuumed because there is no regularly scheduled cleaning service. You also have to request to get light bulbs changed in the hallway as well as the inside garage (quite a safety concern) The garage hasn't been power washed or swept in 18 months. We are on our third management company and every time a new management company has arrived that have done nothing but said blah blah blah. I would strongly recommend you look at other options when it comes to renting in Des Plaines!!!!!

My name is Valerie and I currently assist in overseeing Kingston Pointe Apartments. I am so sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience at the community. We have recently had a 3rd party professional cleaning company out to ensure that the hallways are cleaned up to expectations. The maintenance team has also addressed the hallway lights as well as the garage lighting as well. We are also working on trying to schedule the Power Washing as well. Our goal is always to make the tenants feel as little impact from the management takeover as possible, but always hope residents feel a positive change. One of my top priorities is Customer Service and if you feel for any reason you have not received the best service, I would love to sit down so we can ensure we fix this for you. We are always looking to improve and appreciate your feedback. We are here in the office 7 days a week and invite you to come in so we can address any questions or concerns you may have.
Moved here 5 years ago and enjoyed it very much. However management changes hands every 6 months. The building needs repairs from water leaks, broken door locks but management ignores. You get a surprise gas bill every month that ranges from $10 to $90. My parking garage neighbor parks over the line in my space and management refuses to address. Will not be renewing since rent prices have skyrocketed. This building clearly has financial issues and they can’t keep good management or afford repairs and cleaning services. Don’t be fooled!

My name is Valerie and I currently assist in overseeing Kingston Pointe Apartments. I am so sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience at the community. I have been assisting in overseeing the community since the takeover in October 2017, when the new management started. It is our policy to ensure work orders are being addressed within 24-hours of being reported and if this has not been the case, I truly would appreciate you coming to the management office so I can personally address this for you. In regards to the gas bill, it is set 2 months in arrears and is based off of true invoices, so residents will typically begin to see an increase in January bills. However, these then tend to go decrease significantly as we enter into late spring and through the fall. If you are still having your garage parking issue, please notify me directly and I will be sure to address it with the neighbor or provide you with a different space, whichever you prefer. We are always looking to improve and appreciate your feedback. We are here in the office 7 days a week and invite you to come in so we can address any questions or concerns you may have.
This apartment is perfect for me. It's right in the heart of downtown Des Plaines and is close to everything...shops, banks, theaters. The building is well maintained and the staff is excellent. They are knowledgeable and helpful. There have been very few problems with my apartment but when I have had a problem it is fixed immediately and the right way. I love the "extras" such as carpet cleaning, window washing or a paint touch up. I love everything about this place.
My husband and I have been living in the Kingston Pointe for more than two years. Our unit is very specious, remodeled and has all the great futures of luxury living such as high ceilings, hardwood floors, granite countertops and laundry. The heated garage is also a very nice addition. The price is quite high for an apartment in a suburb, but overall I would recommend this place.
I do not like Des Plaines as a suburb all that much. The only reason we have been living here for about 3 years now is this apartment complex. It is located in about 3 minutes walking from the Metra Station plus about 30-40 minutes ride to Downtown (OTC). We enjoy panoramic windows, modern design, washer/dryer in a separate room in the unit, heated parking garage, large balcony and a great view. The small gym downstairs is perfect for a quick everyday run. On the down side the rent prices go up every year and in general are high.
Good location to downtown Chicaogo close but not too close. Metro mins away. Building is newer and very dog friendly. Good location if or those who like a little of everything across the street is shipping center and a few restaurants no need to go far. Good neighbors in building great layouts it's perfect just about everyone. Best thing not too many kids in the building so nice and quiet.
