Property Ratings at Koslo Park
Moved here to Koslo Park Apartments in 2017 and is now 2020. Was my first apartment. Nice neighbors. Heat, water included in rent and also one car garage included with rent which is super nice! Anytime I had something break inside the apartment (which was only like 3 things ever) the property manager was great about getting it fixed. I have great storage space/closet space. It's not the most updated, fancy apartment, but it's pretty nice for how much I pay per month and what I get included. Plus I get to have my cat live with me too which was hard to find when searching for an apartment! I'm sure we'll be living here for a while longer until we are ready to purchase a home.
Agree with below comment. I had tried calling and leaving multiple voicemails for the manager to call me back. Had tried emailing him including my number. Heard nothing back from him. Read reviews about how quick he is at picking up tenants calls. Would be nice if he was quick to pick up client calls as well. Its disappointing. This apartment seem like it would be a great stay. Wonder how unit get rented out if it's so hard to get in touch with the office.
Reading some of the reviews below it is understandable that whoever runs this place seems to be doing it alone but it doesn't mean that customer service should be poor as a result of it. If so, hire someone! I've called 10-15 times and the manager only picked up twice. The 2 times the call was answered, was told to just come to the apartments and the units would be shown there and then. The 10-15 times i've come to the apartments, the office door is locked and no one answers the door bell. The manager says just give him a call when you arrive, but like before no answer. Terrible terrible service and professionalism. I'm sure the units and the care is good but I can't imagine how maintenance and other issues are handled if even seeing a unit is this hard. Good luck to anyone else.
I lived at Mr. Watermolen's apartments (Kosol Park) for 3 years 2015 to 2018 so here's my pro and con list. PRO: Mr. Watermolen is loyal to the tenants that stay for a long time by not raising the rent.(his way of rewarding long term tenants). The apartment I had was very quiet and the common areas (entry, halls, laundry) were kept clean. The buildings all have a central located coin laundry on the 1st floor and the machines are a very fair price per load. A garage with power opener is not attached but very close to the apartment. Snow plowing and salting (when over 2 inch) was done the same day. The heating system does a good job even when its below zero outside(the cost is included in the rent, nothing is free in life). The in-the-wall A/C unit works good however I just put it on low and let it run all summer, (most of my electric bills were $60 to $70 per month). When I moved out my security deposit was returned in full and on time( I did vacuum, clean and scrub for a full day) thank-you Mr. Watermolen. CON: The biggest negative thing for me was flooring, if the place needs new carpet or laminate flooring make sure its done BEFORE you move in. Don't expect high quality carpet to be installed they will put in the thin lightweight cheap stuff.(good carpet is expensive). Built in the late 1990's the units are dated builder grade so don't expect any high end appliances cabinets or counter tops. My opinion: Over all a good place to live if you are a senior on a fixed budget(many seniors live here) or if you are just starting out in life a good place to start. As I moved up the employment ladder and I could afford better and it was time for me to move.
Apartments are clean and quiet ... manager is helpful and usually quick to fix things. So far I really enjoy living here.
