Property Ratings at Kunzelmann-Esser Lofts
The apartments are nice and the building looks inviting but it's a trap!! Once you move in you will discover that there's a massive BED BUG infestation. I've lived there and had to deal with a RAT. This building doesn't offer to pay for extermination. Good luck with the nightly neighborhood gunfire. Neighbors are loud and fight so much that you'll think they'll pop through your walls. Once you sign your lease they'll raise your rent even if they've assured you that they wouldn't.
I'm a current resident and am going on my third year of living here: Pros: The cost of the apartment and the apartment itself! When we initially moved in we were able to income qualify. However we don't qualify anymore as we make too much money. BUT, because there are no market rate apartments we're able to continually renew our lease at the low rate! We have 2 FULL bathrooms, hardwood floors, washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher, garbage disposal, storage locker included, central air/heat and HUGH windows/high ceilings. There's a workshop in the basement where I love creating art/doing DIY projects. There's also off street parking available. Cons: The location is the biggest con. You aren't able to walk anywhere except for Family Dollar and a liquor store. But it is just a 10 minute drive to downtown. Alberto is the only maintenance guy and doesn't work full time. Sometimes it'll be a few days before he can complete work orders for us. But when he does come by he's fantastic! While it's nice to have such large windows, they're VERY old and extremely drafty. Surprisingly our WE bill isn't bad...during extreme cold months it gets between $100 - $120. The common areas and hallways usually smell musty. All things considered...we have no plans to move anytime soon! I hope you found this helpful!
I recently moved into the Kunzlemann Esser Lofts on Historic Mitchell St, and i couldn't be happier. The building is very clean, and maintenance requests has been followed up within hours! Management listens to your concerns and address them immediately. I have a very unique floor plan in my loft, and most importantly it is per friendly! In fact, the building Manager Nicole spoils my dog Dooney! There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance as well.
