Property Ratings at La Aloma Apartments
I write here as someone who lived at la Aloma for many years. Please avoid this place if you can. When I first looked at the apartments, they showed me a fully furnished and recently renovated space. Don't be fooled, this unit has no one living in it and it's been that way for 3 years, the unit you will get will look nothing like this. Jamie at the office was very pleasant and helpful with the whole process, the day I moved in, this all changed. Within the first few weeks of living here my AC broke down in the middle of July, which I came to learn is very common here, and it took just under a month to have it fixed. A few months later I had a roach infestation that completely took over my closet, there were hundreds of roaches. It was so bad that while I waited a week for them to get someone to take care of the problem, I had to pay for a hotel out of my own pocket. They refused to pay because my apartment was still "liveable", yeah right. I was broken into once and it took a week to replace the glass, which they then had the audacity to try and charge me for. It took them over a year to replace the only fence partially blocking all of the late night noise from the bar in the parking lot over, which still is only partially painted. A lot of the residents are rude and angry people, one of them assaulted a friend of mine who was visiting out of town, and Jamie said they can't evict them because it "wasn't a serious enough offense". The one thing I will say, is that despite all of the negative comments on here, the maintenance workers did do a fantastic job. You have to call at least 3 times to get an issue solved, ONLY because Jamie forgets everytime you bring something to her attention (even though she has enough time to do her make up at the office and make you wait). Any issue that I brought up directly to a maintenance worker was fixed either that day or the next. One of them even came in on a Saturday just to help me. So I urge you, avoid this place at all costs. It is one of the cheaper apartments in the area, but for a very good reason.
This place is a waste of time and over priced for the trash it is. They don’t want renovate our apartment and everything is constantly braking. I have lived here for 2yrs and wanted to move out the first month. The toilet seat broke, the toilet handle broke. The laminate floors are gross and tearing. They painted hair into the walls. The A/C never works and leaks and they never care to fix it. they don’t want to replace it. And they take forever to fix things like the pool and the fence that broke after the hurricane it took them a whole year just to put it back up. The maintenance don’t care and don’t knock. And they don’t listen when placing concerns to the office. Don’t waste your time and money. They also don’t give you a heads up when they do things. So when they finally decided to fix something such as the shingles on the roof. They didn’t let anyone know and for 3 days straight it was a constant loud banging above my room after I just had my baby every morning I’ll wake up to that and my toddler and newborn would wake up crying.
I have lived in plenty different apartment complex's and this is by far the worse. The people in the office don't follow posted hours and leave when they please. It takes multiple complaints about repairs for them to actually get completed. Also if a repair is needed due to flooding for example from your a/c unit they'll address the immediate problem allowing mold and the laminate to become destroyed and attempt to charge me for damages they never addressed. Another is I have lived in this complex for 3 years they also refuse upgrade or fully repair appliances such as refrigerator and stove. What they told me in the office said was "Get renters insurance"
Aloma Apartments are good quality compared to some of the other neighborhood apartments. Staff and Maintanace folks are NOT lazy they work hard. Could it be the owners who slow down the process when you need a major repair? Yet you get that repair done. Place is quiet. Great place to have your college student start out next to everything even employment access bus line and hospital. Lots of families live in this neighborhood with good kids who get along. Satisfied tenant from Connecticut **** If you know CT we are about our business.
maintenance is lazy, unprofessional, and inefficient. most of the office workers are very rude and unhelpful. the apartments and appliances are low quality. neighborhood has awful layout and awful, loud location. never enough parking. laundry rooms suck and are expensive. bugs and crime are common.
In my Opinion La Aloma Apartments is a good moderately priced place to live. The office Staff is always friendly and helpful, the apartments are quiet, the neighbors are good people.
Not a bad apartment complex to start out for your first big move out the parents house. Good service from wokers at the complex. A little on the high end for broke college students but an overall good complex.
