Located 11 miles southeast of Downtown San Jose, the Santa Teresa neighborhood enjoys peaceful daily goings and spacious city planning with easy access to the restaurants, shopping, events, and culture of the city center. The distance from Downtown San Jose creates a welcome separation from the urban sprawl, and the area's thriving business sector creates independence for this primarily suburban district in the heart of Silicon Valley. Relatively affordable apartments and bungalows make Santa Teresa great for a variety of renters.

Property Ratings at La Moraga Apartments
I have been living here for almost a year now and I love my apartment. The apartment complex is very modern and new. Love the wood floors and the stainless steel appliances. The bathroom is huge! These apartments come with dual vanity sets which are super convenient, especially when living with a female. There are 4 large storage cabinets in the bathrooms, great for storing linens and beauty products. Not many apartment complexes offer that. The one downside about my apartment is master bedroom closet, it is quite small. If they would have had a walk-in closet, it would have been perfect. The apartment complex itself is very nice. The amenities are standard like every other place. The negative is the limited parking. They built this place thinking every apartment is going to have only one car. You only get 1 assign space or pay an extra $100 for a second space. There is about 10 slots for guest parking which are never freed up. You also have limited street parking since the city wont let you park in certain areas. Come night time/evening time, its a free-for-all to get a space close by and not end up near the dog park (several blocks away!) It only looks like parking will get worse with the 2 new apartments complexes opening up near by and the townhouse/homes being built behind the complex. Another negative is the dirty hallways. Being a luxury apartment complex, I would have expected clean hallways. Have them pressured cleaned once in a while but they haven't. Floors are dirty and stained. The good thing is that the apartment complex is close by to everything. You have a shopping plaza with multiple big stores like Target, Party City, Marshals and a 24-hr Safeway. You have a Safeway gas station that is conveniently close and easy on your wallet. We also have multiple restaurants and fast food locations such as: MOD pizza, Chipotle, Five Guys, Panera Bread, Starbucks, Yogurtland and Panda Express. You are close by parks to play tennis, basketball, jungle gym and even a dog park. Best thing is that everything is a walk away. You have easy access to the 85 freeway and down the street from the 101. The light rail is a short walk away too! Its super convenient when you want to go downtown for some day drinks. Overall, I love this place.
Anton La Moraga offered beautiful and spacious apartments. They are also brand new so no one has ever lived in it before. Beautiful hardwood floors, stone counters, stainless steel appliances all included. Sleek and modern look with plenty of storage. My favorite aspect is the bathroom with lots of built in storage and his and her sinks. AC and heat in all units as well. The complex even offers door pickup of your trash most days of the week, however that is not optional and is added on to the cost of the ridiculously high rent. Units are well insulated and surprisingly quiet, we never hear our neighbors. The complex amenities offer a small but very clean and well stocked fitness center. The pool area is beautiful with a large jacuzzi, fire pit, BBQ pits, and plenty of seating. However it closes early at 9. We love the fact that the complex is dog friendly and there a little park right at the edge of our building and a nice dog park just a short walk away. Also nearby, accross the street, is plenty of shopping (target, Safeway, Marshall's, Party City, Ulta) and many other good and service locations (chipotle, Starbucks, Panera, Wing Stop, Mod Pizza, Bank of America, nail salons, hair salons, European Wax Center, etc) it is a very very convenient and comfortable location right off the 85 freeway. A few negatives about the complex: there is a lot of construction going on around so it can get noisy if your windows are open, also, I am a female and sometimes get bothered by the workers while walking my dogs. Parking can be very slim, so I suggest you ensure you have a reserved parking spot with your lease and you can also rent a garage for $100 a month. When you go to sign a lease, try to bargain, while speaking to neighbors I realized we all have different rates and benefits. Some of us got very small security deposits or free months of rent, some got accent walls painted in their unit included. One annoying thing is how many "notices" are left on our door. The management is a little over the top with rules and regulations (though none have ever really been enforced) for example, no bikes or personal items on the patio, no food or drink in pool area, remove your trash receptacle by 9am... It's a little over the top and quite annoying. Given that we pay $2,350 a month plus utilities for a one bedroom, I feel I can put whatever I want on my patio!! To conclude, it is a beautiful complex, but can be pricey, that seems to be the trend in the Silicon Valley.
... not sure we're getting what we pay for. The complex itself is nicely built, has contemporary resort-like amenities and seems well maintained. Staff is friendly. Without trying to sound discriminatory, there seems to be a fairly sizeable percentage of low-income units, which provides an element that I'm not sure I would have chosen to live with had I known prior to moving in. Also, the parking is atrocious. Only one assigned spot even for a 2 bedroom unit, with no guest parking? Ridiculous. I understand that the city has been tougher with zoning and parking standards, but the developers and community needs to do more on our behalf, since it's ridiculous and will only get worse as the other surrounding complexes become occupied.
