Separated from Minneapolis by the Mississippi River, the eastern half of the Twin Cities is known for being a bit more laid back and subdued. The landscape is dominated by grand government buildings, stately Victorian homes, and tranquil green spaces.
Saint Paul residents love to spend time outdoors. The city has earned international acclaim as one of the most bicycle-friendly communities in America, and many choose to get around by bike on a day-to-day basis. The Mississippi River is bordered by massive parks as it snakes around the city, providing lush greenery and scenic views. Although the winter months in Minnesota are infamous, locals laugh in the face of sub-freezing temperatures with the Saint Paul Winter Carnival, an immensely popular celebration that draws thousands every year. There’s a plethora of shopping and dining options downtown, including a number of breweries.

Property Ratings at LaBlanche Apartments
First off, the apartments themselves are excellent quality with modern build. Everything here is what you would expect, but for a reasonable rate. The buildings, grounds and units are maintained well and everything works with no problems. The people who live here are quiet and pleasant in my experience so far, as most of the people who live here and in the area seem to be families. Parking is no hassle and setting up and managing utilities are streamlined and easy. Dealing with the management has been pleasant and straightforward which is a bonus! Second, the location is great for everything you would need. It stays quiet and has little foot and street traffic due to its location on a dead-end street in a residential neighborhood. Everything you would need (Downtown St. Paul, Roseville, Minneapolis) is a 15 minute drive or less and there are plenty of public transit options and walkable stores in the area as well!
These apartments are very poorly maintained. The common areas were always dirty and there were always drama. The management did not care about our safety and lied about the security cameras. When I had an home intrusion we asked to see the camera and they said they don’t work. I would not recommend anyone live here.
The price goes up and the amenities decline annually. The property managers do not enforce anything in their community rules, so don't expect quiet evenings (or mornings). Pet waste is common in outdoor areas and parking lots are poorly maintained.
My toddler and I have lived here for the last 2 years, management is great and really friendly. Theres always a maintenance crew tending to the outside and inside of the buildings. The units themselves are beautiful ontop of every issue I've reported has been fixed the same day! Great place to live
This meets the standard in affordable apartment home living. We have 700 square feet of paradise here, in an apartment home, a four room suite, including lights, heating, beige walls, carpet, and tile, spacious interior, closet space, bath and shower, hot and cold running water, flush toilet facility, stove, oven, ice box, windows with a view, smoke, drink, and pets allowed, locked personal rooms, just waiting to be decorated with our furniture and belongings, heater and air conditioning, secure entry, and access to common areas with hallways, mail room, foyer, and trash removal, on a quiet road, near metro line, shopping, dining, parking. I will live here for the rest of my years. Thank God, and only the Lord can bless a home. Blessed be.

Thank you for the great review! We are pleased that you are enjoying your home. If there is anything we can do to make your stay with us more enjoyable, please contact the Rental Office.
Small community of apartment buildings owned by the same company with nice staff. Great space for a 1 bedroom apartment, freshly painted, and air conditioning for a reasonable price. We are in a building that is slowly moving over to smoke free, but most of the other buildings owned by this company are smoke free. I like this area for the fact it's a cul-de-sac and dead end streets, so no fast traffic and kids can freely run around. The only big draw backs would be the laundry room and the train tracks. The laundry machines are on site but sometimes people use all the machines at once for their laundry, not letting others use them, and it can take the whole day just to wash/dry your clothes since they leave them in the machine sometimes for an hour or more. The trains can be noisy sometimes, so make sure you're ok with living near train tracks.
As my fiance and i frantically looked high and low for an apartment that suited both of our needs (it had to e equidistant between both of our jobs, on the bus line, close to shopping centers and downtown life) we stumbled up the La Blanche Apartments. I immediately called and began shooting question after question "Whats included in utilities, what are the amenities, how safe is it, is it on a bus line?", The building manager was more than pleasant and courteous and could tell I was nervous, as I had never done this before, and informed me of everything the apartment had to offer she assured me that the neighborhood was in a nice and quiet place in town, all utilities were included except for electricity and cable/internet, there was on site laundry, the apartments were down the street from the 61 bus line, there was even a park across the street for the kids, and a garage and storage units. After taking a tour of the apartment I completely fell in love, it was spacious, it was well lit, the kitchen was just the right size for those nights when I'm feeling adventurous with y cooking, AND it had a double closet in the bedroom! (every girls dream) We applied and put the deposit down immediately! A couple weeks later we signed our lease and began the next phase of our lives! This apartment is perfect for those who are looking for a nice quiet home to build on their own or with their significant other!
LaBlanche Apartments are OK apartments to live in. They are located close to downtown St. Paul (10 minute drive) and within a very decent neighborhood. You are just a few blocks from all your daily needs like restaurants, grocery stores, bus stop, bank, etc. The actual apartments are pretty old but are kept in good repair. Some units are in better shape than others. In my situation I moved across the street into another unit (about $100 more) and the difference was night and day, so make sure you see ALL available units before making your choice. There are in building laundry machines at a very good price. There is package receiving at the main office. As far as appearance the apartments are fair at best. The one thing that keeps me here is the staff. From the maids and repairmen to the secretary and manager, the staff makes my stay here a very pleasant one; they are always extremely polite and professional.
