Property Ratings at Lacota Apartments
I have lived here less than a month and I’m already about to break the lease. The leasing office folks are super nice but nothing is getting done in a timely fashion and the community as a whole is just nasty. The people are nasty and litter everywhere. They leave leaky trash bags in the hallways until they get ready to commute to the dumpster and never clean up the messes they left behind. This would probably explain the roaches that I’ve literally seen crawling out of spaces in the walls/ near the sinks that aren’t sealed properly. I have had a leak in my bedroom closet and one in the bathroom that I wrote on my move in form. Considering the closet is carpeted and mold is a high probability, you’d think this would be resolved quickly. They came out, took the carpet up after a few days and said it’s probably just another unit leaking and we’ll look into it. Days later they came and brought a fan to dry out the floor and replaced the carpet. Never even put the wall cover for the furnace back on. But them changing out the carpet made me think it was resolved. Nope! I walk in my closet last night when I got back in town and the floor is soaked. Who changes the carpet but doesn’t address the leak? I haven’t even unpacked all of my clothes yet and had them in cloth totes on the ground. EVERYTHING IS NOW MILDEWED and smells. I’ve been gone for days. Who knows how long my stuff has been swimming and who knows where this water is even coming from! So not only is this issue seriously inconvenient, it’s also potentially hazardous (because mold) and now my personal property is damaged. I know I won’t make it a year here and wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. The appliances are old and raggedy (it takes 30 min for water to boil on the stove top) and there’s not even enough power running through here to use a standard washer. This place is TRASH. They don’t have a phone number that they give to residents and they don’t respond to emails. You literally have to walk in the leasing office to get a response OR dig through other terrible reviews to find the number to their property manager named Sabina who won’t call you back either. The online portal sucks and they e been charging me $11 for renters insurance since November when I have sent them my renters thru my insurance multiple times. If I did my job as poorly as these people, I wouldn’t have one.
the apartments have a mold problem and paints over the mold! There is a mass roach investation, cant even have company without a roach running up the wall.
Don’t let them fool you! They’ll show you their model and when you move in, there are bugs everywhere, the thermostat that they say is “digital” will be an old model that you can barely switch temperatures, there’s is no renovation at all, if they call panting the walls a renovation they are so wrong. Do NOT live here. The bugs are disgusting and they are everywhere coming from every single hole in the walls, in the kitchen is so disgusting. Save your money and your mental health, avoid this place at all costs. I wish I could’ve read a review like this before signing 12months lease. I can’t even sleep because I’m afraid I’ll have roaches crawling on me.

So far my experience has not been a good one. The first day i move in my A/C did not work and i moved in during the summer months. The community itself is quite, however when someone is walking up the stairs or leaving the building you can hear them through the walls. I live in building 6660 and it has a roach infestation. The complex had a company come by and spray but it did not do any good. I have had multiple issues with maintenance requests. I have a broken ice maker and a broken oven light and maintenance will not come and fix it. I would not recommend any one moving here. Find a better place because this won't be for you, trust me. Also I do not understand why I have to pay. $24 dollar fee to pay my rent online. That's ridiculous. -update. Today is 9/26 and my A/C is not working. I first realized this last night around nine when the A/C wasn't blowing out cold air. It has been running all night (pretty sure my light bill will be high). Will be putting in a service request asap. Will update review after they fix it.
I have lived here since May 2016. So far I have had an issue with roaches and I'm a very clean person. I don't leave food out or dishes in the sink and I still had a issue with them. The pest control just came to spray on 8/09/16. Hopefully I won't have any issues. The management just changed and it's been subpar. The complex itself is quite and I haven't had a problem with break-ins or anything like that. They are starting to upgrade the insides of their apartments with new cabinets and appliances. Hopefully they have made this change for the better.
I am new to Georgia state. I search for numerous apts with no avail but applied at Lacota Apts and they were the only people to set up an interview, filled out application and paid my fee to reserve a possible apt and low and behold after all the necessary checks I was approved and moved in! Lacota staff was fast, professional and courteous!
I recently moved from Alaska and was placed in a hotel but for nearly 2.5 weeks I searched for appts and Lacota Apartments were the only place to give an apt, application and couple days later I got an apartment! Not only this accommodation the staff like Danny was very professional, polite and courteous. Thank you and God bless!
We have lived here for about 8 months now. The 2 bedroom we have is a nice size. We have had difficulty when it comes to maintenance requests. When we first moved in the apartment was said to be move in ready. We had no heat or hot water because the gas company said our water heater and heater unit was unsafe to use. It took almost a week to get our things fixed so we could have heat. we moved in the middle of December so it was pretty chilly out and we have a child. Since summer has been here we have had problem after problem with our air conditioner, and every time we put in a request no one comes to fix the problem. We have to call many times and sometimes go to the office. We are hoping to move in the next few months to a different apartment community. we do not plan to renew our lease and stay another year.
