Property Ratings at La Crosse Apartments
I have had nothing but issues with Adriana since the day I moved in. She was sweet and kind to get you in the door, but now I don't even want to call the front office for anything because she's so mean. The rent is too high for the quality of apartment. I had better quality for literally half the price. I have brought up issues and it's been months since then, but no follow up. I will be moving once my lease is up because this place isn't worth it anymore.

We’re sorry that you feel this way about LaCrosse Apartments. As apartments.com does not show names, we are unable to confirm you are a resident at LaCrosse. Therefore, we would like to hear from you about your comments and potentially seek a resolution. We invite you to call or drop by the community office to talk to our onsite manager, Rosemary during office hours. Should you not wish to try to resolve any issues over the phone or in person, and if you are indeed a resident, we thank you for being a resident and wish you the best for the future.
I am hesitant to recommend this place due to management’s lack of professionalism and integrity. The complex was purchased by new management within the last couple of years, and they seem to have since stopped caring about the upkeep of both the buildings and the community’s reputation. Our apartment was very dirty when we received it: food crumbs all over drawers and counters, dirty carpet despite management’s claim that it had just been professionally cleaned, peeling vinyl on countertop, hair on bathroom walls and scum in showers, urine and hair in toilets, spider webs and wasp nests in balcony area, and a thick layer of dust on the ceiling. Upon moving out, we were not given a move out checklist or list of things that needed to be cleaned, so we thoroughly cleaned the apartment. We were not given the option to do a move-out inspection. Despite having thoroughly cleaned the apartment and leaving it in much better condition than we found it, we were charged an additional cleaning fee on top of the carpet cleaning and administrative fees. When I asked about the charges I was told that I should have done a move-out inspection (despite not having that option) and I would have known what to clean. Bottom line: expect to be disappointed with the apartment when moving in and then get blind-sided with fees when moving out.

We appreciate your review and your perspective, but we'd like to present a few facts, we, Key Management do not own LaCrosse Apartments, we simply manage the day-to-day running of the community, and only took over management in August of 2022, not a couple of years ago. All apartments are professionally cleaned prior to resident move-in. The resident in this case came to the office after their move-in with a couple of small issues, which we immediately took care of. None of the litany of complaints listed above were brought to our attention. In regard to not giving residents the option of doing a move-out inspection, this is untrue, in fact, we encourage departing residents to walk the unit with a member of staff, in this case, the reviewers' partner declined a move-out inspection. We did nothing to blindside you, all final charges and fees are clearly explained verbally by our leasing staff and presented in writing at the time of lease signing in the agreement you and your partner signed. We're sorry that LaCrosse Apartments did not suit your housing needs, and we wish you the best for the future.
Any reviews from before this year are no longer accurate, and any awards this complex has received were due to past management. Recently, the complex was sold to a large management company which seems to care more about profits than the people living here. I was convinced by the great reviews that La crosse would be amazing, but I was disappointed by the realities. The costs are going up, utilities that were previously covered are now paid for by the tenant, and several times I have had issues with getting the staff to actually follow through with what they said they would do. They always just blame "the new management" for issues, as if that makes it ok that there are issues. (For instance, I paid for a garage, but the code I was given would not open it. It took three weeks before they finally fixed it.) The apartments might look "luxury," but they are not actually built that way; the leaky windows and poor insulation have resulted in my electricity bill being twice that of anywhere else I've been in Wichita, despite keeping my thermostat at 60 degrees all winter. Anyway, these are just some things I wish someone had told me before I decided on what apartments to rent from. Overall, the apartments are fine, but seem overpriced for what you actually end up getting.

Thank you for your considered review. We do apologize for the issues you have experienced during your time residing at La Crosse. Since taking over the day-to-day running of La Crosse, Key Management, in conjunction with the new owner, has been working diligently to fix issues with the community including the problem you described, with codes for garages. We would like to hear more about your experience at LaCrosse. At your convenience, please call us at (316) 264-1866, our office hours are Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, or email feedback@keymgmt.us, thank you!
All buildings were INFESTED with brown recluse spiders, although the apartment complex denies being aware of any other units having them (even though I had discussed the issue with multiple tenants in other buildings who had the exact same issue). Management picks and chooses which residents they favor, this lead to issues in maintenance, move out, and comfort. The gym equipment was poorly maintained and the hot tub was “closed for maintenance” for months. Amenities listed in the contract (cable TV, security system, hot tub) were taken away while living there / didn’t ever work, yet the rent price was not adjusted to reflect. The apartment itself was nice enough, cheap finishings (like carpet and easily staining / chipping countertops) but if you take care of it, no major issues. Just hope you don’t have to deal with management or maintenance staff.

We have responded to this review elsewhere but will repeat our statement here. We can see that your experience at LaCrosse had several issues and we can understand that these were a frustration. We agree with you on your points as we are aware of all of the items you mentioned. You see, LaCrosse was recently purchased by new ownership and the new owners have many big plans for the property. We are working with several contractors on solving and correcting many of the issues you mentioned along with new plans to better improve the property. In addition, with the new ownership and management; we also changed to a new pest control company that has a highly favorable rating in Wichita. The issues we are resolving and improving are already evident to several residents. It's just been a few months since the new ownership took over and improvement is already happening. Again, we thank you for your comments and apologize for your experience. However, that was with old ownership and now with new owners and new management; our goal is to continue to uphold the outstanding reputation that LaCrosse has had, and won awards for over the past decade.
I have lived here for 3 years and am sad to leave. I am relocating for work and in starting a new home-hunt I am truly appreciating just how amazing it has been living here. Here are my honest thoughts to anyone considering living here: PROS - The leasing staff is always friendly and respectful. - Maintenance responds quickly to maintenance requests. - I've never had any issues with any of my neighbors. (Occasionally a tenant will park in my covered parking spot but I leave a note and have never had the same person do it twice). - The exterior is fantastic. The pool is gorgeous to spend sometime in with friends or family and the walking trail out back is pretty and pleasant to walk along. CONS - My only real issue is that the gate is not always closed. I think when COVID started they began leaving it open so FedEx and UPS could make package deliveries straight to apartments and it just never got switched back. This is the only thing that really bothers me since it is marketed as a "gated community". I would prefer the gate to be closed at least at some point in the evening like perhaps 9/10pm-6am. That being said, I have never had my car or apartment broken into or any safety issues. I would just appreciate the added security. Perhaps this will be resolved with the pandemic moving behind us. I hope this was helpful to anyone looking for a new home. I'm really gonna miss this place. ...and my neighbor's dog, Buddy, who always runs out to greet me and say hi from the patio near my parking spot. :)
I lived here for about a year. Easily the best apartment in the area. The staff was amazing and quick to help out the residents. The complex was quiet and clean and within a few minute drive to everything that you need.
I've been living here 18 months now , I've been treated very well here. The staff works well with the tenants. Your treated like family hear. My wife and i enjoy all the social events held by the staff. The property is well kept by maintenance. Our neighbors are very friendly and social. I plan on renewing my lease next year. If your looking for a great place to live pop by and check out this place. I.R.
This apartment community is like one big family away from my real family. Every resident looks out for one another like you would in an actual neighborhood. The office staff is outstanding and tries to help me in any way they can. They walk my dog when I can’t make it home on lunch breaks, take and pick me up from the airport when I travel for work, pick up my medications at Walgreens.. they even went grocery shopping for me when I was too sick to leave my apartment. I can tell they truly care about the people that live here and I can count on them. Aside from that, their amenities are 24-7 which is great for my work schedule. I love getting in the hottub late at night after a long day. I don’t plan on moving away from here until I buy my first home. Thank you for everything you guys do!
This property has really deteriorated over the last few years. The windows leak water and air, and it makes it hard to manage the high utility bills. They don’t enforce picking up after dogs. There are large dogs here and it smells aweful especially after a rain or thaw. Cigarette butts are everywhere. There was a broken wine bottle on a sidewalk last week and beer cans are thrown around in the grass. Rules aren’t enforced. If you don’t mind a loud neighborhood and looking for a place to party.... Lacrosse is your kind of place!
My mother lives here and the staff are the best ever. There isn’t anything they won’t do for her if asked even though they’re not required to and my mom is pretty needy! The grounds are kept up and maintenance responds very quickly. Wonderful place.
The people at LaCrosse are awesome! My mom moved there after she was widowed. Lisa and crew took such good care of her, and if mom was still able to be on her own, she would still be there. They took such good care of her - now that she's living with me, I'm having a hard time living up to her expectations! Thank you LaCrosse and crew for taking such good care of her when she lived there!

We were happy to take care of her! She became part of our family. We miss her so much! Feel free to send her back anytime!!!! Thank you for the wonderful review and please stay in touch!
I just moved out of LaCrosse and I must say I am going to miss it terribly. My wife and I used the 24 hour fitness facility daily. We jogged around the beautiful pond when weather permitted! All of their parties have been the best we have ever attended, from serving us a Thanksgiving Dinner, to a real Hawaiian Luau! The staff is all amazing! We have never had any issues whatsoever. The only reason we moved from LaCrosse was to buy a home to grow our family. We highly recommend this place, stellar!
I've had friends that have lived there and have attended a number of parties there. It is a great social atmosphere where you get to know the others in your community. The staff is very attentive and the community itself is small enough that you don't get lost. The apartment is close to everything! We can walk across the street to shop Dillon's, or jump over to Rock and have access to a bunch of other stores and restaurants. Above all my favorite part is how the tenants are treated. It is a fun place to live and if we ever have problems the staff is always good at getting things fixed in a timely manner.
I viewed this apartment. Complex. A few days ago and fell. In love. It's. In a great location. The staff is so friendly. All the neighbors. I talked to seemed so loving and happy, The atmosphere here is so positive. I just had to write. A review. If you are looking. For a safe place look no further.. Not to mention. This place has it all. Good location. Friendly. Staff state of the art work out centers, basketball. Courts, swimming. Pools, you name it they have. It here. Seriously doubt waste. Your time anywhere. Else this is the. Place you should. Be at.
