About five miles south of Downtown Chicago, Bronzeville is a historic district containing six structures on the National Register of Historic Places. Prominent figures such as Gwendolyn Brooks, Sam Cooke, Ida B. Wells, and Louis Armstrong helped shape Bronzeville into the cultural and progressive community it is today.
Public art fills the streets of Bronzeville, from vibrant murals to elaborate sculptures, most of which line Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Lakefront recreation abounds at Burnham Park. The Illinois Institute of Technology lends unique architecture and intellectual pursuits to the neighborhood. Lake Meadows Shopping Center provides an outdoor haven for all kinds of retail delights.
Bronzeville is also notable for its proximity to major amenities such as Guaranteed Rate Field, Washington Park, the University of Chicago, Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, McCormick Place, and Arie Crown Theatre.

Property Ratings at Lake Grove Village
I moved in 6 months ago and I’ve been loving my apartment so far. I got brand new appliances and it has that new carpet smell. I have vinyl flooring in the hallway and the apartment is beautiful. Every time I call the office Ms Fox and Ms jones always answer. They are very respectful and a joy to talk with. The issues that I have had have been answered within a days time frame. You’re not able to make everyone happy but I’m very happen with my stay here.
Since the new management took over in 2020 the property has declined. They do not exterminate so after 10 years of living there with no problems I developed a pest problem. Complained to management and was told they were working on it. They also had mice in the management office( same building I lived in). Request paint and carpet after 11 years and never got an answer. Elevators constantly down. No true security. Tried to increase the rent with no notice. No maintenance staff and couldn’t determine who worked for the property as maintenance/ janitors in street close. Closed the office on Saturdays so working tenants were out of luck to add money to laundry card and or lease renewals. Office staff is horrible. Person responsible for lease renewals is very unprofessional. They need another management company quickly.
The maintenance team has been able to complete my work orders within a 24 hour time period and they have been great helping me out in the smallest problem. The people in the office always have a smile and ask me how my day is going. This property pays attention to the small details and it really shows.
Great location near shopping centers and grocery stores. The lake is just over the bridge which is steps away. Great view at night of the city and skyline.
Roach infested building. I called the office so many times to let them know and they act as if it wasn't a problem. The roaches are in the hallways, elevator, downstairs entrance and every where in the apartment. I literally opened my door and the roaches walked in with me. I lost count of the Raid bottles I bought. This is ridiculous. You can't even have company because they are climbing up the walls and couches. I did not have roaches before I moved in here. Please don't let these people lie you and say this building is clean. I honestly kill about 5-10 a day! As of 9-8-2017 3500 is infested!!!!! Can not wait till the 30 day notice is up!!
My apartment has very small rooms cannot wash the windows on the outside the management does not believe in keeping the outside presentable. The building has 10 floors I live on the ninth floor with a spectacular view..
I like my apartment alot and the area I'm close to a shopping center my apartment comes with parking so that's another plus. We have security and my gated building complex. It's just a very nice place to stay for now till I think about growing my family size.
the building has bed bugs very bad in the moving process now cannot take it anymore
