Located about midway between Orlando and Lakeland, Davenport is a tranquil yet growing city in Polk County. Being largely residential, Davenport exudes a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of apartments and houses available for rent along lush tree-lined avenues.
Davenport also touts a slew of commercial offerings along U.S. Route 92, including convenience stores, markets, and government offices. Despite its growth, Davenport maintains a small-town feel with a close-knit community and vast stretches of green space strewn throughout the city. Residents tend to choose Davenport for its laid-back vibe along with its close proximity to sprawling outdoor destinations and many of Greater Orlando’s theme parks.

Property Ratings at Lake House
We lived here for two years, and at first we were so happy to have found this place. The leasing manager was great and the assistants were so helpful. But management changed, and things got worse. There is almost no communication with the office, and if you get a chance to talk with them, they don't help. The apartment itself is cheap and things aren't built to last. You can hear every word your neighbors are saying through the walls, and it's a pretty noisy complex. We only went to the pool twice because of how tiny it is, it barely can fit two families. The dog park is a joke with how tiny it is, and it's filled with gravel from when they tore the other half of the basketball court out. The lake view is truly the only thing that kept us there, and even that's not worth it.

This property is excellent, with great people and great service!
This place is so bad. All the bad reviews are so true. Very poor communication- won’t call you back even in the beginning stages of application, nevermind once you’re actually a resident. Property is very dirty. Dog poop everywhere, so many bugs including cockroaches.
BAIT & SWITCH***Be very careful if you’re considering moving here. Get every single thing in writing the moment it is told to you. They offer promotions to reel you in and then they don’t honor the promotion and/ or they continuously switch your unit and cause you unnecessary stress prior to move in. Also, they barely answer their phones, or call you back when they tell you they will. I decided to live else where because of all of this which I am glad that i did because if it’s this bad prior to move in, I can’t imagine what it is like once you’re actually residents. ****
Went on a tour last month and was told by management to lie about my dog being an emotional support animal so I didn't have to pay for dog fees. That crossed them immediately off my list before the tour was even over.
Steve at Lake House was wonderful help over the weekend. He brought me to view many apartments that were vacant and showed me the amenities. I get to move in on Sunday and cannot wait!
Place looks beautiful inside when touring. Signed my lease moved in to realize how awful the cockraoch infestation is, it’s unbelievable. I called and they came, sprayed one drawer in kitchen turned around and left. My patio is covered in green algae, front door area is molding. It seriously is a trap! I wish I listened to my friends who have lived there last few years. This place is junk.
An absolutely AWFUL place to live! I came home tonight after being gone at work for over 14 hours to find my locks had been changed without my consent. I received no text, no phone call, no email to let me know that the locks had been changed. I went to the office and spoke to a woman named Wandy (per the work order) to ask to get WD-40 sprayed on my locks and to get a new key cut since I have been having issues with the locks for over a year now and it gets worse when it gets hot, and instead I came home to the apartment I live alone in with new locks and no way to get in. After 2 calls to emergency maintenance, I was finally contacted by someone who had spoken to management and asked where my keys were since he had no idea that a new lock had been installed. After being let in, I found my work order sitting on my counter top with my new key sitting on the counter (and a copy of my key sitting in the office which closes at 6 and I was at work until 11 PM) and a note that said resident having trouble getting in, leaving new key on the counter.....how else was I supposed to get in? On top of this issue, I have had an ongoing battle to get my water meter fixed. Since I moved in December 2016 my water meter has been reading improper water usage resulting in outrageously high water bills for a resident who lives alone with no running water anywhere in the apartment. The office refuses to get the water company out here to fix it which in turn is going to result in me having a battle with the water company when I finally move out of this dump. Finally, the office administrators refuse to do anything about the parking situation at this complex. Each resident is supposed to have at least 1 spot and if I get home anytime after 11:30 on any day of the week I can 95% guarantee I will not be getting a spot. Instead I have to park in front of garages to park somewhat near the apartment I reside in. They have threatened to tow my car if I park illegally even though there are physically no other spots to park in except for very small unlit corners of the parking lot that are pretty decent distances away from my own apartment. As a small female, I feel uncomfortable parking so far back in an unlit area where anyone can jump the fence. If you have a choice in housing, avoid this complex. They are useless and couldn't care less about the residents living there, even the ones who have been there for a year and a half.
We've been here for about a yeah and a half. While the new management has done great things with the property itself, we have been without a dryer in our unit for over a month and a half now and have had to spend our own time and money to take our laundry to a laundromat. We have been over to the office MULTIPLE times and it has still not been fixed. This is the second time we've had this issue with our dryer. A wrong part was ordered and we are still waiting for a new part, supposedly. They have given us no timeline as to when it will be fixed and haven't offered any money off our rent for the month and a half we've been without laundry. One of the reasons we renewed our lease and agreed to pay the new higher rent was because of the in-unit laundry. We also loved the extra security of having gates added about 8 months ago, but they're always open and there really is no benefit to having them. One of the treadmills in the gym doesn't even work, leaving only one usable treadmill and one elliptical. Since the new management has taken over, we have issues with the wifi connection in the gym and clubhouse areas. The blinds over our glass sliding doors are terrible quality and fall off and the screen door is bent and doesn't fully and properly close. We've had to have the lock on the sliding glass door replaced once because it's so fragile. Overall, its a nice property with friendly neighbors, but we will not renew here and are looking forward to moving out when our lease is up.
My fiance and I have been living here for two years and love it. We were worried with new owners coming in last year, but they have exceeded any and all of our expectations. Everything from the grass, the buildings, the doors, the office, EVERYTHING has been upgraded and looks AMAZING. We're looking forward to many more years here!
To try and be honest as much as possible. They are doing the best they can with what they got. When I moved in I was informed that the property was newly acquired and undergoing management changes. I got a refurbished apartment, meaning all new everything throughout the apartment. Everything was wicked nice. Sadly their maintenance team is overworked and understaffed it almost feels like. They do the best they can but keeping up an apartment complex that is aging is no easy task, especially just after an acquisition. The refurbished units are really nice over all, great appliances, nice flooring. Of course this is an apartment building complex, people need to realize what comes with that.
Unfortunately they do not treat you with courtesy. They told me they would give me a new stove I've been waiting for 3 months and wait 2 months for the washing machine. We report the water heater Friday noon Monday no one has gone to check !! Horrible service ...
So I just moved my family into this community and we LOVE it here! We have lived in Davenport for most of our lives and had no idea this place was here. It is so quiet here! The bus picks up my kids for school inside the community which we love and the people in the office were super friendly and helpful. Beyond that our apartment is spectacular! Granite and stainless with beautiful flooring and the rent is affordable! We literally looked for a month before finding this little gem and we are so glad that we did! Highly recommend checking this place out!
My husband and I looked at an apartment here a year ago and wow, the new owners have made, and will continue to make, a lot of really nice changes!! Just moved in and we are thrilled to be here!
This apartment complex is great. Super affordable, convenient location, great management staff. It's amazing!! Can't wait to move in
