Property Ratings at Lake of the Woods
Lake of the Woods allows a short period for renters to get their wrecked/fender bender repairs then they fine them and the renters are forced to park on my deadend Street (Maple Ave) Currently 7/2/2020 I am blocked in by a car that pulled up where I entered in from the street to my back yard to drop off a load of mulch, not a driveway I just pulled up on the grass in between my house and my neighbor's house before I could unload the mulch this black Hyundai from Lake of the Woods who has been parking on Maple (probably not even on the lease)is blocking me in for who knows how long. This has been an issue for Maple Ave a crowded dead end street not meant to provide parking for residents of LOW.
I've just moved back after being gone for one year. I could not believe all the changes that have been made in the complex! New windows! They have redecorated the community room that is available for tenants to come and chill during the day (also rent for parties), and it is beautiful. Plus, they now have an AWESOME weight room! This complex is in the best location...on the bus line, right down the street from Kroger, Burger King and Walgreens and Ronald Reagan Highway. I especially like that tenants are responsible for their pets. They keep them on leashes and the complex provides bags for those that need them on posts located throughout the property. I highly recommend Lake of the Woods apartments!
I've lived in lots of apartments, and Lake of the Woods is the nicest one of all. They are currently installing new windows in all of the apartments. The crew is very good. They are on time every morning, clean up after themselves, and are courteous to their customers. And they work fast!. This is just one of the things that the management is doing to make living here really comfortable. We are getting new appliances. We have a new fitness room with additional machines coming next year. The landscaping is beautifully done and is kept up. We have large patios and a great swimming pool as well. The management for this property is very nice. They are always ready to hear what you have to say, and whatever you need they take care of it in reasonable time.. I cannot find anything that I do not like here, this is my second year.and I am never moving anywhere else.
I lived at this apartment complex for over a year so therefore am qualified to give a thorough review. Pros: 1. Quiet community 2. Assigned Parking Cons: 1. Passive aggressive notes left on your door 2. Unorganized staff 3. Lets the older residents run the complex and harass others and break the "rules" 4. Lack of amenities compared to amount payed and other options available in surrounding area 5. Crime in apartment complex 6. No value for amount paid 1st offense. It took over a month for the staff to empty the storage unit that was assigned to me. (previous resident had left belongings). 2nd offense: I was never given a pass to the pool. My son and I went to visit the pool not only was I immediately harassed by the maintenance personnel to present a pass I never received, they also demanded that my son take off his shirt, stating that "street wear" was not allowed in the pool. My son complied and removed his shirt. I kid you not, five minutes later an older man came into the pool area with a t shirt on and began to swim(mind you the exact same type of clothing my son had on). The maintenance person not only did not ask ANYONE else to present their "pool pass" he also did not demand THIS man to remove his "STREET CLOTHING" . Offense #3 They will send you passive aggressive letters threatening to not accept your rent next month if you do not turn in your "expired" rental insurance info, when they never asked for it to begin with. How do you threaten someone when you never asked for the information?. They also will leave notes demanding to not keep your grill on the front patio, even though its cooling off. Offense #4 It was a great pleasure to see on the news that the apartment across from mine was raided for drug trafficking. "Love the place you live". Offense #5 there is a older lady in the back of the complex that harasses everyone. I have seen her on several occasions going around the parking lot and examining people's cars to see that they meet the "Fath Car Standards". I believe she is solely the reason why everyone keeps moving out of the back of the complex. She definitely had a major role in the reason why I decided to vacate. Offense #6 the market "value" placed on these apartments is over priced. There are no: dishwashers, w/d hookup (have to go outside to do laundry), central air. You can go over to Colerain Ave and find several apartments that offer these missing amenities at a similar price.
Living in Lake of the Woods has been one of my best experience of apartment living. The grounds are always clean and well manicured. Maintenance are always responding less then 12 or less hours. If there is any problems they all are always willing to do whatever they can to set matters straight. I would recommend Lake of the Woods to anyone who wants a friendly and professional staff and a very safe and convenient place to live. Its like living in the center of the city with easy access in all directions. Current 5.5 Year Tenant AC
Really loved everything about the place very neat clean which is a big plus in my book too bad you are still up in the air about work vehicles when you decide on that we would love to be a part of this very lovely community
