There’s an unmistakable charm to Springfield, a city that exudes the allure of a small town while housing nearly 115,000 residents. Blending modern conveniences with a historic atmosphere, the capital city of Illinois — and birthplace of President Abraham Lincoln — is a compelling Midwest metropolis for renters of all types.
Aside from its presidential history, Springfield is full of culinary delights and entertainment destinations. Cozy Dog Drive-In alleges to have made the first corn dog in 1946, and it’s always a popular spot. Enjoy the shops at White Oaks Mall, fun at Knight’s Action Park, and plenty of breweries just north of the city center. There’s a number of parks and excellent educational opportunities, including the University of Illinois Springfield. The city comes together to enjoy annual events like the Illinois State Fair and more.

Property Ratings at Lake Pointe Apartments
I constantly seen maintenance guys going around being nothing but kind and proactive. Heard a lady dishwasher stopped working and two days later it was completely replaced. The neighborhood surrounding it is a lot of homes so feels very safe and the staff is literally incredible. Maddison and Abby have taken such great care of me.
Signed one year lease. I was placed in a unit near others with pets and wasn’t asked if I had a preference until AFTER I moved in. I lived in an upstairs unit, the bugs and spiders kind of take over the entry way. Neighbors with dogs do not clean up after their animals despite being provided bags and cans for poop. I just graduated college so the noise was not an issue for me. The rent is kind of high for he amenities to be old and not maintained. The two bedrooms are not worth any where near what they’re charging per month. Neither is the one bedroom. One beds are very small and the heating and cooling doesn’t even reach the bedroom. They mix up pet units and non pet units, so if you have allergies or fears of certain animals be sure to tell them repeatedly during your application/ leasing process.
Honestly it was great at first. But when I moved in, moving things up the stairs and trying to get in that small door and opening was absolutely horrible. The floor had some small rips in it when I first moved in I thought it was going to be fixed but no. Some small things I noticed, a lot was half fixed it felt like. The dish washer looked like it was gonna pull out and it would when I opened the door. Then in the bathroom I noticed they taped the bottom where a piece of the wood was coming off. The fire place remote was broke. The walls were dirty. Just many things you think a apartment complex would fix before you moved in. The thing that grossed me out the most was the carpet on the stairs always dirty. And bugs were constantly down the stairs and spiders making webs down there. One thing that sent me over the edge was management. Let’s just say they are very unprofessional. If you try to talk to the head guy of apartment mart. Apparently that’s the main managers father at lake point. I received very rude messages after that. I tried to go in the office and try to talk in person like a adult and didn’t even have a chance to sit down before they attacked me it felt like. They charged me extra for dog poop saying that it was all mine but yet I would take my dog way behind the apartment. But many people in that apartment complex does not pick up their dog poop. Also, the leasing agent up front can be a little to friendly....some things happened and when I said something finally is when management started to be rude. I had messaged and proof and they took her side. Finally I had enough and moved out. I gave the keys back and honesty best thing that I did. I would not move into these apartments. They do have security cameras everywhere so it feels safe but another thing that sucks is the parking. A lot of college kids do live there and it does get loud.
bug, tick and spider infested apartments. nice locality and the right kind of people but thanks to tardy and inefficient management's mixing pet and non pet units a lot of them now have bug infestation. HVAC Unit inside 2 bed units and a window unit on 1 bed units makes it them quite noisy and inefficient leading to high utility bills. management took most of my deposit for "cleaning" and other silly reasons like a few burnt bulbs, small mark on the linoleum. BTW everybody gets charged for cleaning in spite of your efforts. short term summer pool always had high chlorine. thanks that i got out of there quickly.
had to live in this hellhole for 2 years bcoz' i too avoided looking at the reviews.. and with kids wasn't easy to shift promptly. plz talk to the other tenants. know spider infested locality. lots of bugs in most apartments because non pet apartments have / are allowed to have pets. with more than half the apartments having pets there is poo everywhere. there is a very small gym that gets crowded most of the time. pool water has over chlorination issues in the summer to compensate for the heavy crowd. rude management, ask for one lindsey. she kept all of security deposit for entry vinyl gash that was there when we moved but failed to document / imaged for its triviality.. but beware your security deposit takes care for most of the apartment upkeep, including a mandatory carpet shampoo that comes off your deposit..
There are some issues with hearing my neighbors bedroom activity, but beyond that, my space is GREAT!
