Property Ratings at Lake Village West Apartments
DO NOT...I repeat, DO NOT MOVE HERE! Absolutely worst complex and management staff! Jan, the manager, is the worst and will not address resident issues nor will she provide you with corporates number. She will offer to let you out of your lease due to said issues then try and stick outrageous charges on you after giving her word. Michael has a better attitude towards tenants but will tell you what you want to hear in that moment, then never rectify the situation, only bandaid it. After residing here for over a year and hitting the second summer mark, our upstairs unit will not go below 89 degrees! We have 4 children ranging in ages from 9 months to 10 years residing here and they are constantly sweating and complaining of heat exhaustion. We have complained numerous times to management and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! The unit beneath us has a brand new air conditioning unit and there is one man living there. You would think that given the state that these dilapidated apartments are in that they would try and retain their residents but NO! They are more interested in their profit margins than actually doing what’s RIGHT AND HEALTHY FOR TENANTS! STAY AWAY! RUN!!! Also, the photos shown online are NOT an accurate depiction of what you get! Here are just a few of the unit we inhabit AFTER being shown the “show” apartment initially. Notice the 1980’s two-tone style cabinets, the awful laminate floor that is splattered with paint and poorly installed, the rust in the tub from the leaking pan above... the carpet was full of dog hair when we moved in (which they did offer to re-clean once we made a big deal of it). The cabinets still had stuff spilled on them and the baseboards are warped and mostly non-existent. This place is the WORST! Also, the pool is ALWAYS closed for “repair”!
Front office is courteous, maintenance is as well. They are quite quick to fix things an adress any issues. Affordable rent for a spacious two bedroom, for a single mom. Landscaping is always maintained. The Olympic pool is very large and very nice. Sometimes the neighbors can be quite loud outside late in the night, and there are always people who do not live in the complex overtaking the pool and leaving beer and cigarettes all over the place. Other than that it is quite a nice place to live, and would recommend to anyone.
the maintenance dept never fixes anything. the apartment was not move in ready when we had to move it, the walls only have kilz on them, no paint. nothing ever gets fixed without me complaining to code compliance first then it only gets temporarily fixed never fixed correctly
I've been at this apartment for about a month now. It's just alright. First of all, when I looked at the apartments they only had one floor plan available to show, and of course it was all upgraded, with pretty cabinets and black appliances. When I got into my apartment, I was definitely not dazzled. My cabinets looked like they were from the 80's put in kind of lop sided, they were ugly. I was a little upset, but I got over it. The apartment is a pretty decent size. Then came the problem with the cracks in the wall that I saw, and they were covered up with just white paint.........yeah. A couple of weeks go by, and I find that my water was turned off, the reason, I found out from a neighbor later, was that in the building that I'm in, on the far side of the building the foundation had cracked and in that particular apartment, the floors were wavy, cracks all over the walls, and they had to repair it and my neighbor said it had to do with plumbing. Therefor my water was turned off to be fixed. My problem was I was not notified. This happened twice...... The tennis court they had, the net has been taken down. The swimming pool by me was closed (have no idea why) Quite frankly I am paying waaaay too much each month for my apartment to be having this many issues....by the way is $860 2 bd rm and 2 bath. There are two ladies in the front however who are pleasant and have down well to overt my anger, I wish I knew there name. Not a horrible apartment, but definitely not the best! Do your research and ask to try and view which apartment your getting before agreeing, unlike me. I know next time!
