Overpriced, overrated, the grounds and walkways are not being kept up satisfactorily, neighbor noise is excessive especially after "quiet hours," despite a request for speed limit signs over 9 mos. ago there are still no signs and management just says that they are on backorder (?!), the pet excrement problem remains a problem! The maintenance crew continues to do a very good/excellent job. Their response time has been incredible and solutions are timely if not immediate. The crew is courteous, polite, knowledgeable and gets the repair done! The office staff is good and helpful in most cases. Most of my interactions with any of the staff of three go very well.

Overall, my living experience (for the past 11 years) has been good. I live in the C building and could only live there or in the B building. B and C were built more recently, after a fire took out the originals. They have a much more open layout and higher ceilings and reflect more recent decor. The other units over the complex were built in '75/'76. The current management is new and an improvement over the former management. The location is good with easy access to highway 385 and Haywood Rd along with shopping. The rent is over priced yet still lower than most of the competition. Lakecrest Apartments is currently "retrofitting" apartments as they become empty so the interior is completely new, however, in the same/original 1976 structure: framing, insulation, sheetrock, insulation, plumbing, wiring, electrical outlets, fuse boxes, small size rooms, small closets, 8 foot ceilings. No matter which unit you may select, noise carries!! I can literally hear my next door neighbor's phone calls, both sides as she uses the speaker phone. Lately, I have noticed an overall "dirty' look to my apartment building (C). The steps are very, very dirty from traffic and garbage bag drippings as are the landings. The outside siding needs to be pressure washed along with the breezeways, the landings and the steps. Cigarette buts are found around the buildings and entry ways. The grounds are mowed and "blown" weekly. You will be "pushed" into a 13 month lease with plenty of penalties.

LakeCrest is a stepping stone place to live as it is a bit less expensive than other surrounding properties. The grounds are nicely spread out and it has a pond with a walk path around it. The property is dated as it was completed and opened in 1976. Management allows pets but there is a definite problem with residents not picking up their pet's excrement. A recent spate of car thefts and car break ins plagued many of us (one of my windows was smashed in and total cost to repair was $965 plus an additional $40 to have the window tinted to match). LakeCrest is now a far cry from what it used to be when I first moved in over 10 years ago. Rents have skyrocketed, as in other properties, and general help and services provided have plummeted. Enter at your own risk...

My time at Lakecrest has been lovely. It is a family focused complex when I feel very safe. The amenities are wonderful and the staff are often present and great people in general. They wave hi to me in passing each day. When my dog and I pop in to the office, they are excited to see him and give him treats. When they see me carrying trash to the dumpster, they offer to help. Maintenance is easy to communicate with when an issue arises and they have responded to my issues within 48 hours. I love living here ??

For my very first apartment with my boyfriend, this was a good choice. What made it better was the help. We didn’t know what we were doing, what the requirements were all of it. We were sat down and talked to about every little step of the process and most apartments don’t do that. Especially for first timers. They want to just take your money! But not here at Lakecrest! I am very happy with my first apartment and I was very blessed to have such nice people walk us through the process!

I moved into Lakecrest during the beginning of the covid pandemic though it was a contactless tour of the residence, it was very professional and courteous and very well to my liking, I am now going on my 3rd year here at Lakecrest it has been nothing but greatness from the staff and neighbors.

Will be Missed
I have been living here for two years and my experience has been wonderful. The staff and numerous residents are kind. I definitely would recommend this apartment complex to family and friends. The only complications I've experienced were notices posted on all apartments for loud music, smoking, and vandalism of club house amenities. Besides that it is a peaceful and fun place to live. Thank you Lakecrest for the best "first time renter" experience.

I was so looking forward to living here with my 3 children. The pictures online and the manager (Marybeth) were wonderful! Unfortunately, the first night we were there, there was a huge infestations of bugs and cockroaches in the 100's! By 2 am the first night I had to pack up my kids as they had bugs all over them in their sleep, and take them to a hotel. After that, when the management got back to me after 2 days from the incident, they were extremely rude to me and offerd no sympathies for the situation. My apartment was horrible and in horrible condition.

MaryBeth has been the best through this whole experience. The neighborhood is lively though you can never hear any noise from your apartment which is fantastic. There have been a few maintenance reports I had had to send in but maintenance comes within 24 hours if not 1 hour depending on the urgency of the situation. Overall, great experience so far and very welcoming.

I have lived at Lakecrest for a number of years now, and I honestly don't have any complaints. I would have to try really hard, in order to find something to complain about! No place is going to be perfect in every single instance, but I definitely have the feeling that management is striving to be the best! And that means a lot to me, because this is my home.

find a reason to keep $200 you pay for application
I put in application, gave them 4 check stubs. I told them my supervisor was on vacation. But denied me for failing to proof of income. Gave me that excuse just from returning my $150. When u put in application and pay $200, you will not get any of it back!!!

Management was easy to contact, quick, and helpful from day one. The lease documents were easy to read and fill out, their expectations are very clear. Move in day went flawlessly and management sent maintenance out to change the lock on the balcony to fit our key very quickly. The community itself is beautifully maintained, its very common to see geese, ducks, turtles etc when on a walk around the lake. The location of the community is very convenient. The apartment is clean and well maintained (theres excellent water pressure). So far its been a wonderful experience.
