Property Ratings at Lakefield Mews Apartments and Townhomes
Nice, but small, renovated units, no washer/dryer but connections for a stackable in the 1bd 1ba I toured. Liked it but the lack of amenities and blasé attitude of the office staff led me to look elsewhere for that price point. The “gym” seems to have been converted into a bingo hall with folding card tables and the pool is on the small side. Loved the fishing pond, grill station, and large field area to look out on and walk the dog on. Small walking trails in the woods were nice too and I liked the natural atmosphere of much of the property. Also in a safe area without too much road noise or disruptive construction sounds. Not bad but just not really what I’m looking for at that price point!
Just moved here in Summer 2018 because it appeared to be a nice peaceful neighborhood but now deal with a brigade of semi/tow trucks that just started parking and congesting the entrance. As a result the road is extremely narrow and unsafe especially during inclement weather. Trash has begun to accumulate on the road from them littering, makes the walk to the bus stop unsafe for kids, you can hear them parking and backing up at all hours of the night, some of them idle/sleep overnight here. Ive talked to the office and although they are aware of the issue-the urgency to resolve the issue for their residents was not apparent. Definitely will be moving because of this.
Just moved here and recently there has been an industrial park developing at the entrance for the community for semi trucks to park and store. Had this been going on when I was viewing there area would've definitely turned me off from living here as it is a major inconvenience because it makes the road narrow and unsafe during inclement weather.
Moved here early 2018 and I have been very happy. I have some physical issues and the apartment they found me is perfect. Ground floor with a handicapped parking spot as close as it gets. Nice clean apartment and a fair price for the size. I have had no serious problems but what I have had maintenance has fixed quickly without issue. Very nice folks to deal with. Looking forward to being here for awhile!!!
We have been living at Lakefield Mews Apts for 18 months now and have enjoyed every minute of it. Our daughter recommended them because she used to live here and she knows how I am about cleanliness. There are "no" pest issues whatsoever! Our neighbors are friendly and quiet. The maintenance team is prompt, polite and ready to do the best job they can. Office staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to help. I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a "clean" place to stay. It also helps to be 1/2 mile away from the mall!
Lakefield Mews Apartments is a wonderful and nice place to live with your family. I will encourage all my friends to come and live here.
I just moved here a couple of days ago since I have applied everything has been done Right! The staff very helpful and polite (Wendell) was the one who I sign up with , on my 3rd day in my new home I had an unexpected flood due to the ppl not plugging my washer machine up and when I tell you I called Debbie I believe that’s her name she sent maintenance over right away and the carpet contractor to clean up everything was right away priority so far I’m loving my new community
Clean apartment when we moved in. Neighbors is terrible though. And the neighbors are jerks. Constantly blaring their music at all hours of the night, total disregard for those walking through the complex as they race though, big parties at the club house which causes parking nightmares. The trash is only collected twice a week so usually all the dumpsters are overflowing and there's no area for recycling. There's no soundproofing between apartments so expect to hear every conversation your neighbors have. You have to rent your washer and dryer and be prepared for them not to fit (we were told we could get full sized but we only had room for stckable ones). Otherwise it's okay. Close to everything. Staff are nice and maintenance are always prompt to fix things (albeit, not very cleanly-we have paint on the floor from a patch they had to do in our bathroom). Not the safest of areas outside of the complex but decent if you only go out during the day. Oh and the fights between neighbors are fantastic entertainment! Theres usually a fight a week, so make sure you grab some popcorn when you live here!
Do not live here. They will raise your rent by more than $100 in a year. They don't collect packages. You put in a service request and it takes days before they take care of it, even if it's an emergency. If you pay your rent by check, instead of online, they charge you an additional fee. They don't plow the driveway when it snows so be prepared to slide across the parking lot. I've lived here 10 years and in the last 2 years the place has gone to hell. I can't wait until my lease expires in May and it's only October but I've already started looking for a new place to live. You can find someplace cheaper to live and get more amenities for your money than Lakefield offers.
Too pricey for what you get. Maintenance entered apt without permission. Upgrades look cheap. Would not recommend
This is not a luxury apartment and the price tag reflects it. I moved here because it was one of the nicer places and had many perks - close to the interstate but you didn't hear too much of the noise. The shopping center was really close if you were looking for something to do and the grocery stores were in walking/biking distance if you had to do it. I loved that everything I need was in the area. The staff were always wonderful to work with and any time I had a concern they worked with on it. The biggest gripe I had were my neighbors but generally that's not an issue if you're not a light sleeper. There is a mini-coffee bar in the front office. I'm very picky with carpet cleanliness and before I moved in, the carpets were cleaned and they did not leave a that stiff, rough feeling below your toes when you'd walk on it. The cabinets were not modern but for the price, that was perfectly fine with me. No strange smells. The laundry facility was well kept as were the landscaping grounds. Renting the clubhouse is a steal if you're looking to host a party. The only other concern I have is that no recycling is available. Other than that if you're looking for a safe place close to many things to Richmond, this is a great spot.
I needed to find a place fast once I found a job in RVA; this place has been great to me! The office staff is very helpful and welcoming, and maintenance does a great job taking care of any issues quickly.
It's a good starter apartment. The amenities need to be upgraded and needs more cabinet space in the kitchenette. It also needs a larger laundry room for a regular size washer and dryer. It also could use more storage space and more outlets.
I've been here for 2yrs I currently live in a town home and I'm pretty pleased with u apartment. No big concerns nicely updated well maintained grounds never had an issue with the office staff and my neighbors are pleasant. My only con is that the quality of the work for some of the upgrades are poorly done. It was as if they got lazy and didn't properly finish some of the finishes.
