Property Ratings at Lakehill Apartments
I have been very satisfied with my experience at Lakehill! The apartments are located on a dead end, which isolates the apartments almost entirely from traffic. There's also a small lake (as implied in the name) which provides a great view, and a relaxing atmosphere. After a rough day at work, all I need to do is go back to my apartment to feel relaxed. I don't feel like I'm ten minutes from downtown Minneapolis at all. Groceries and a number of restaurants are within reasonable walking distance, and beautiful Silverwood Park is conveniently available. Central Avenue affords a huge selection of dining opportunities just a few minutes' drive away. The apartments themselves are neither better or worse than what you'd expect for the price range. There's nothing special about the floorplans. Countertops, appliances and fixtures are basic, but not ugly. The cabinets are nothing to get excited about. Aside from a few garden-level units, every apartment has a patio or balcony. The balconies are inviting, but not particularly spacious. Common areas are minimal, and aside from the beautiful grounds, there are no amenities to speak of. No pool, no gym, no picnic tables even. This is pretty forgivable for a building of this size. For me, the great location makes up for all of that, but I can see how it may be a problem for some. Management is very understanding, and if you forget to move your car for snow removal or lot maintenance, they'll call you rather than immediately towing your car. If you want to have a few friends over, parking is no sweat. Garages are available, but very narrow. I had one for a few months, and it was difficult for me to park a midsize sedan in there so that the doors could be opened on both sides. Maintenance will answer urgent complaints very promptly, but can be very sluggish about low-priority tickets like clogged drains. All in all, I can see how Lakehill might not be the ideal apartment for absolutely everyone, but it's perfect for my needs.
