Property Ratings at Lakeland East Apartment Homes
Great place to live and very good customer service. They help with your Wi-Fi set up and are flexible with everything.
I lived here 12 years ago after a messy divorce. My apartment was peaceful . 99 percent of the time i place a request for repairs the workers were at my door right after I was in the office
So glad I moved here!!! conveniently located. Jackie is so sweet. She helped us throughout the entire process and answered the many questions I had lol. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The apartment itself is spacious and Worth every penny and it’s super cozy. I definitely recommend Lakeland East.
We’ve been here for 7 months now but it is wonderful! The staff is so friendly. The property manager Jackie! Is absolutely wonderful and very professional and genuinely cares about her residence very helpful and responsive! The complex is quiet and the neighbors are friendly! There’s a sense of safety and community. I absolutely I love it here.
I was with Lakeland East Apartments for about 16 years and loved every year I was there. It was one of the best decision we could have made for our family. I started out in a 2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom. Then my family and I moved into a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom. From the first day to the last, the staff was always pleasant and courteous, and worked quickly and efficiently. Any time we needed anything, maintenance would respond promptly and always courteous. Office staff is always greeting you with a smile and are ready to help you. They make sure you are happy. Monthly, the office have different themed get-togethers (like meet and greet) for the residents to learn and know more about their neighbors and staff. The apartments are kept updated and the grounds are always nice and clean. We ALWAYS felt safe and secure there. We never had a problem with any of our neighbors, staff, nor crime. The police station is nearby, and officers would patrol the neighborhood to make sure everyone is safe. The prices are very reasonable. You get a lot for your money. Both units my family and I lived in were very spacious and comfortable. Units are updated with nice appliances, fixtures, and so much more. These apartments are also pet friendly. If you have school-aged children, they will attend Flowood Elementary, Northwest Rankin Middle School and/or Northwest Rankin High School. There is a school bus stop near the office for students. All of the schools listed are very good schools. Take it from me....someone with real and true experience with Lakeland East Apartments....this will be one of the best decisions you could ever make for yourself and/or your family. I'm sure glad we came!
I've lived here three years. In the past year they have gotten new management, which is a godsend because the previous manager was a nut job. You can tell they're still trying to fix several issues that she caused. Overall the place shows its age, but if you don't have luxury expectations this is a fine place to live. I would really like to start seeing some updates soon however. Small issues pop up all the time with our appliances due to age. I would happily pay a little more in rent if that meant having updates to key areas of the units. The parking lot has never been paved correctly, there's constant pot holes and the back end of the complex floods easily. The new management is enough to keep me here another year, but after then I might be burnt out if some cosmetic changes don't happen soon.
We lived there for 2 years. Location is good but staff is very rude. They are making money with dues. They recently changed their property manager. She is very rude and slow. She cant even do basic calculations. When we left last month they didn't check appartment and after almost 15 days they sent us letter asking for $ 250 saying bathroom cleaning charges. We called her and asked she said bathroom was clean but she found some hairs.. really!!! They are making money like this. They took our deposit too giving these kind of stupid reasons.. Dont go to this place!
These are apartments are poorly maintain and extremely old. We just moved in yesterday and the kitchen and bathroom baseboards are ripped up, the tub was just refinished, the bathrooms door keeps jamming, and the windows and front door is not seal properly. Everything is loud from neighbors playing loud music to the loud toilet flushes and shower in our apartment. I advise you do not waste your time here.
We have lived in this complex for a few months now. If you are the person that lived here before us that chain smoked layers of disgusting tar into the carpets, walls, windows, and INSIDE the kitchen cupboards, you are a new kind of nasty. Even after the carpets were cleaned twice and the apartment was painted...even after I have tried every product under the sun to get the death smell out, my CLOTHES still smell like smoke to this day (and I am a non smoker). The place was FILTHY when we moved in. The property owners are nice, but they are flaky and disorganized. It's a cheap, quiet place to live, but if you want clean, and functional, keep looking. This place is dirty and run down to its last leg.
My wife and I have lived at Lakeland East for almost a year and we have been very happy with our apartment. I would highly recommend this place to residents wanting to live in a safe, tucked away area that is reasonably close to the necessities. This is going to be one of the longer reviews, but it should hopefully give you more information about the complex and the area. Pros: Reasonable price for the Flowood area, we also received a small discount on our rent as employees of the U of M Med Center which is pretty great. Very safe area, it's tucked away a bit behind the Blue Cross building and no one but residents seem to come out here. Noise proofing between apartments is great. We lived above a family of 5 and almost never heard them. The manager Jennifer is great, she's been very supportive of us and has helped us out with a few situations. The previous leasing agent (Lindsey) was pretty awesome as well and although I don't know the current leasing agent, she has been very friendly when I've stopped by. Traffic isn't too bad around this part of Lakeland, although it can get pretty bad west of here due to never-ending construction. Cons: Noise proofing for the outside area needs some work. We live right next to the pool and it can get rather loud during the summer. There is also an incredibly annoying woman who constantly wakes us up around 730am screaming the names of her two small children while she's getting them out to her car. She lives just a bit west of the pool, so be aware if you choose a place near there. The other neighbors are much more respectful. We've had mixed luck with maintenance issues. The maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful, but we kept having repeated issues with minor things and eventually just gave up on them. At least they have great about taking care of the bigger stuff. In summary, this is a great location that is reasonably close to the freeway and to the Dogwood shopping area, it's a nice small community and I would continue to live here if I didn't have to move out of state.
I'd like to start out by saying this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with property management or any business at that. Also, over the 2 weeks time we worked with them on getting into a place they only called us back 1 time, we had to call them multiple times a day after they tell us "I'll call you back later this afternoon." We recently tried to sign a 12 month lease with them as we are moving here for work 6 hours away. We already know we don't have the best of credit so we had no problem doing what they needed to be approved. We filled out our application and was given the list of accounts we need to fix in order to be approved. We fixed those accounts "same day" and acquired email proof as well. She told us "great, I just need to send this in and wait for a response. I'll call you later this evening or in the morning." We waited, It was now the next day after 2pm and no call so we called back. We we're told there was an issue with the network or system and shes still waiting, she'll call them and see whats going on. She ended up not calling them back and we had to call the next morning again to tell us they still have no answer. This went on for 4 days until that Thursday evening my fiancee called and was finally given great news! She told us, "I already got your name on the apartment and we got you in there. Just waiting on papers to come back so we can finish the process." At this point we were relieved because we were moving next week which we could not stress enough to them. We continued to call each day as we went back to our hometown to pack the uhaul and start the move. Each day was told the same thing, "waiting on papers to come back" and they never communicate with us at all! It was now a week later on the next Thursday after being told we got the place that we started to drive up with the uhaul to move in. Driving all day, and we call around 3pm to ask whats going on, were driving up now and are 3 hours away. It's then they tell us that we were not approved! We were floored, They tell us we were approved a week ago and waiting on lease papers to sign. Now that were in the moving process they tell us we were not actually approved?! We did everything they asked, even gave them extra information about our past leases and they tell us we get in and turn it around on us last second?!
When I was looking for a place to call home in the Jackson metro area it seemed there was no place that felt homey. I called, drove, and visited. I felt like they all had what I needed but not what I wanted. I then found this apartment called "Lakeland east". After just an 10 mins on the phone I had to see this place. I drove up to the apartments and it felt homey and secluded from crime, traffic, and wild animals. I then found myself in the apartment imagining a life with kids and my fiancé. I was sold. The manager was so accommodating and got me in before move in day and has answered all my problems with the best solutions for me. A apartment should be a home not a charger for your batteries so you can continue the weekly work grind. I hope you all find that homey apartment aswell.
I recently moved her and it is nice and quiet. The neighbors are pleasant and office personnel are great. Management really go over and beyond what she is ask to do. And maintenance is really fast at getting job orders done.
