Living in Old Southwest Reno takes residents back to the early days of the Nevada city, back when pioneers roamed the streets and built homes any way they desired. Locals love the Old Southwest area for its status as one of the oldest neighborhoods in Reno. Close to downtown Reno and to restaurants, bars and schools, many Reno residents consider the area one of the most desirable parts of town.
Unlike the newer developments, Old Southwest homes resemble homes from the past, in many different styles. People can walk down the block and see both a mansion and a cottage on the same street. The uniqueness and old-fashioned nature of Old Southwest and its outer streets pique the interest of those who travel to Reno looking for a family neighborhood close to all of Reno’s attractions.

Property Ratings at Lakeridge
In short property old and not maintained. Moved here during covid and previous tenant had damaged apt and unit was not properly repaired. After 3 years repairs still not completed as they would have had to put me in another unit. After leaving they stuck me with a bill to repair damage from the previous tenant. Do not trust the management and if you do decide to live here, document everything because if they can wring extra money from you, they will.
We put our required you deposit down an when we told them we decided not to lease, we didn't get out money back. We have tried numerous times contacting them, we were told it had to go through Human Resources. We have not received our money to this day, over 6 months later. We reported them to BBB and they don't care. Dishonest business!!
IN my lease it states that i am supposed to have quartz counter tops but instead i get these weird wooden fake ones. The windows and doors are very leaky it takes on average over 30 days for maintenance.
It's very hard to get a hold of anyone in the leasing office and when you do they end up giving you false information or make you a promise to have the manager call you back which ends up never happening. Paperwork is disorganized and filled out incorrectly. The assistant manager was very friendly and accommodating with helping us switch over from a 6 month lease to a month to month (verbally agreed) since they "could not locate" our renewal paperwork. Now it has been 3 almost 4 months from vacating the unit and she has found the paperwork and is demanding payment after herself and her staff has stated on more than one occasion that nothing more was due. Get it all in writing and keep a record or just choose a more honest place to live.
I have been here for 5 months and have loved every minute. The new office staff is so kind and always willing to help. Today they put on a resident event with FREE taco's and desserts!! I hope they keep this up, it makes it feel like home and appreciated.
These apartments are very nice, but management is awful. The girls that work there have no idea of what they're doing. I'm writing this on behalf of my mom, because shes not completely fluent in English. These girls will try to be the nicest people as soon as you walk into the office to ask for information. They will show you a complete brand new apartment with everything completely new and tell you that your new apartment will look exactly the same and at the end it will look completely different. Let me just start by saying that the apartment was not even ready when it was supposed to. My mom gave her 30 day notice at her old place, packed her stuff and the very same day that she was supposed to move in to her new apartment they told her it was not ready and she could not move in. My mom was super pissed and very disappointed that none of the girls where even considerate enough to at least give her a call and let her know that the apartment would not be ready that day. It took them an extra 5 days to get the apartment ready and even then the apartment was not completely ready when she moved in. Because of that whole bad situation the manager did end up taking $500 dollars off of my mom's fist rent payment, but honestly that's about the only good/nice thing these people have done in the time my mom has been there. After she moved in the carpet was still not completely clean, the walls still needed to be touched up and painted, the chimney was absolutely disgusting and old. It was all just a bad experience since the beginning. Oh and don't even mention work orders to these people. They take for ever to even fix one little thing as changing the battery of a smoke alarm. They get so bothered and mad every time you call to put in a work order. After two months of my mom letting them know everything that was wrong in the apartment only two things have been done and that is only because we constantly keep calling and calling otherwise I'm sure nothing would have been done yet. Also be very careful with how much your rent actually is, because they are also charging my mom more than what her actual rent is supposed to be. It is just very disappointing to know that you are paying so much rent money to these people and they don't even care to take care of what needs to be done. Worst management team I have ever met. I don't know where they found these girls to be honest.
This place a a disgrace. They gave us a smoke filled apartment that was unlivable after promising a smoke free apartment. We were eventually able to transferred out of that apartment. The staff sprayed down my first apartment when I initially did my walk through with a deodorizer to mask the smell and lied directly to us. Most people here smoke indoors so most of the apartments have a disgusting stench. My spouse has asthma and was having asthma attacks from the second hand smoke. This place is not safe for children or those with health issues. The staff here are deceitful and lazy. The office staff will tell you whatever you want to here, and will often give conflicting information. They don't give a crap and are incompetent. I have continually requested maintenance for the many issues in my apartment. The fire place is always broken, the shower was broken, and other drawers in the kitchen were broken, it took the bathroom flooding before someone finally came to fix a leak. The maintenance staff would routinely cancel our request or mark them as fixed. I have had many maintenance issues within my unit that have made the place difficult to deal with and the staff have ignored them for over two months. These apartments were built by the lowest bidder and it's obvious. Appliances are cheap and constantly breaking. I'm in the process of getting this place blacklisted for military members at my base so none of them will be able to rent here. The only plus sides are that the neighbors are all nice and get along well, the pet policy is nice, and the location isn't bad. I've lived in many apartments across the US, but this is the worst place I've stayed. They WILL lie straight to your face and tell you what you want to here... do not rent here!!!
When I moved out they didn't have anyone available to do a walk thru although I gave plenty of notice and visited the office a couple of times to find the time.... (I left two weeks before my lease ended) 6 weeks later a collection company contacted me for close out fees that I had not paid. The leasing office had my forwarding address and never sent me a final itemized bill, they had my email and never sent me an email. They had my information and could contact me through their apartment portal but sent nothing there either. They did discontinue access to that account. This is predatory and poor business practice. Shame on you Lakeridge East!
The previous reviews are an accurate description of lakeridge east before Pinnacle management took over. As residents we had free access to a wonderful gym, plenty of parking, private patios and a quiet living community (for a great price!). Pinnacle management came in and decided to cancel the access to the gym, even going so far as to build an ugly fence between the apartments and the gym. This was the first in a series actions that show that pinnacle management does not care about its residents or their living experience. Since then they have turned the apartment complex into a literal construction zone, there are nails on the ground and tools and broken pieces of wood laying around. All of the parking spaces are occupied by porta-potties and giant trash cans. They cut down the tall patio fences that provided security and privacy for downstairs residents. (The reason we chose these apartments was for the high fences that would keep our dog On the patio). They are repairing the roofs which means that construction starts around 7/8 each morning and is very loud with things falling from the roof. The final blow was their most recent effort to replace the parking lot. They gave the residents less than a weeks notice to move all of their cars from their assigned covered parking spots(paid for in our rent) and stated that any unmoved cars would be towed for a fee of 250$. We did not receive advanced notice and anyone not signed up for their email service found out less than 24 hours in advance by the notes taped to our mail boxes. I understand that they are trying to improve the community, but so far all they have done is inconvenience their residents. I would not pay to live here until all construction is completed because you will be living in a construction zone. Apart from the horrible management this is a very nice complex. There is an elementary school and a nice park within walking distance and anything you could need is no more than a 10 minute drive. The people who live here are all very nice. The maintence workers are all incredibly kind and fix problems quickly once management can figure out how to file an maintence request properly. The only downside to living here is the management, if they have left by the time you read this review I highly reccomend living here.
Please do your homework and read as many reviews as you can prior to renting here. The newer ones (late 2015 until now) are more accurate, in my opinion of course. The grounds have deteriorated greatly since the new management company has taken over. All mistakes and issues are blamed on previous employees. Access to the tennis club that was once included in the rent has been revoked. Construction has been going on for a while, and it is obvious by the trash and discarded materials everywhere. There is a sense of apathy in the office. Hopefully they can get their groove back and take pride in the apartments, they have great potential. If the 4 and 5 Star reviews seem to be at odds with all other reviews there is probably a reason. Lower your expectations and it is a great place to live.
Before you sign that lease, make sure your ready to pay high price for a small, noisy, drafty, mold infested, ceiling leaking...junk of an apartment AND extremely rude management and staff. Good luck getting your stove fixed or the mold growing in the bathroom fixed. I lived there for 4 months and constantly had to call management to fix the problems. The staff at lake ridge apartments are rude and lazy. I broke my lease just to get out of there. Horrible customer service. Billing errors and constant noise from construction. My neighbors were very loud on all sides, all throughout the day and night. Their new designed apartments still stink of water damage and mold. Stay away from this apartment complex.
Lakeridge Apartments afford a resort atmosphere with condo style, 1,000 sq ft, two bedroom/bath accommodations with full kitchen appliances, plus washer and dryer in the half bath. The reasonable rent ($950 to $1,050/month) affords membership in the on-site Lakeridge Tennis Club where residents have access to two pools, one Olympic size outdoor and seasonal, full gym with racquet ball courts, outdoor basketball courts as well as child care during your workout session; yoga, rhumba, jazzercise and water aerobics at the indoor pool. Pool times are adults for lap swimming early morning, open to families and children thereafter. Trees provide ample shade throughout as you walk along the multitude of pathways, beautiful lawns and garden areas, with residents encompassing seniors to young families where safety for all is topmost on the list of amenities. Pets are welcome with some restrictions as to size and breed of dogs (no deposit or monthly fee for service dogs). Also a Four-star restaurant located on the grounds. Within three blocks of shopping, restaurants and medical/dental services. Ann VanNostrand, Reno NV
From the first phone call I was happy, the girls in the office were very friendly and helpful. Our entire experience was great, the setting is beautiful and the amenities are excellent.
