Northwest Greensboro sits just 10 miles outside the downtown area, but it provides a vastly different view of the city than the streets and suburbs around the city center. With access to Lake Higgins and Lake Brandt, Northwest Greensboro is a scenic setting that’s perfect for anyone who wants to be near urban conveniences, but enjoys the thrill of outdoor adventures and afternoons on the water.
The area of Northwest Greensboro is made up of a number of fantastic, unique neighborhoods and engaging apartment communities. The area’s vibrant outdoor atmosphere is broken up in spots by conveniently located shopping centers, big-box stores, and a few restaurants along the main thoroughfares. Bur-Mil Park provides 250 acres of pristine land set between the lakes to the north, and there are plenty of bike trails along the shores as well. Commuting to the city takes just a few minutes thanks to the interstates that serve the area.

moved in sept. 11th 2024 A/C hasn't worked since I've been here, over a month but don't need it now it's October. Window screen bedroom busted took 2 weeks to fix! A lot of rain since I moved in... laundry room area off kitchen water seeps in thru floor must be foundation issues. Put in numerous work order request nothing done. Now there is a mold issue also reported. Nothing done??? taking care of it myself need, a place to live, can't afford to move again, just moved here from New Hampshire. I guess I should have realized because when trying to move here the lack of communication was horrible. property management team not very helpful... Changed my apartment # 3 times in a month the last one coming the day before I was to move in and was half way there. I had no other recourse but to move in and try to make things work which, I did but around every corner a new issue with no support from staff on the ground. Neighbor women moving out when I moved in told me that I'm like the 4th person in 4 years to have moved into this apartment... Wish I could start over I wouldn't have moved here, nor recommend it to anyone. DON'T MOVE HERE !!!

Love my apartment now that I’m FINALLY in it. The process was RIDICULOUS and it seemed the office staff had absolutely no idea what was going on the entire time. We moved out of state and were told our place would be ready Friday, when we drove over 8 hours here and got to the office they told us they recommend going to get breakfast because they weren’t ready. 4 hours later and we finally had keys to the apartment. Since moving in we’ve had no problems at all, biggest complaint is 80% of laundry machines are broken or don’t work properly. Move in process was terrible but now that we’re in it’s all good!

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying your apartment now. We sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced during the move-in process; that’s not the experience we aim for. Unfortunately, delays with our third-party vendor did not go as planned; but, we are grateful for your patience. Also, the laundry centers were serviced this past week by the vendor. If you're still experiencing issues, please contact our office directly. We value our residents and look forward to better serving you.
I just moved in March 1st and I have been without A/C since March 31st we are now at 3 weeks and counting as of today 4/18. There is no urgency nor an apologetic demeanor from the staff in the office. I’ve only been here for almost 2 months and it’s already a hassle just to get something working that should be working. The excuse is that they are waiting for approval for an a/c unit to be ordered meanwhile the days get hotter and keep piling up. When you ask to get an update they just pretty much downplay or act as if you are in the wrong for asking and being concerned. Also I’m not the only renter with this problem it’s 6 other tenants and possibly more. Please do not rent here I’m not the type of person to complain but I’ve never experienced anything like this when it comes to maintenance and staff at an apartment complex. Not to mention I had to send the same renters insurance information 3 times and they tried to charge me for it the first months rent but they fixed it once I notified them even though I sent it 3 times. Just stay away from here trust me.

We are truly sorry to hear that these maintenance concerns have been impacting your stay in our community. Please contact our office directly so we can check on the status of your maintenance request. We look forward to improving your time here.
Literally everything in my apartment was broke when I moved in. The place was wired wrong to where you could only have 1 thing plugged in the living room. The balcony door was broke. The bathroom floor was warped. Later on the only light cover shattered randomly. Lastly the dishwashers been broke for a month and no one will fix it. The only listed problem that was ever fixed in 8 months was the wiring. You also cant talk to maintenance, you have to talk to them through a middleman. And of course the model they showed me was nothing like what i got.

I have lived here since June 2022. Overall my experience was good. There were some hiccups with my move in and some water and sewer issues in the beginning, but the issues were dealt with immediately EVERYTIME. I never once had a single bug in my ground floor apartment. The apartment complex as a whole is pretty decent. Many nice neighbors. If the one bedroom apartments had been priced better I would have stayed. I was just struggling with the two bedroom rates as a single income. I love utilizing the parks across the street. Great location. I was shocked at all the extra charges on top of rent but I have learned this is everywhere because in my search for a new home I found they all do that out here in North Carolina.

Over priced, lots of bugs, poor communication, worst living experience i had with a complex.
This is a terrible place to live. The upgrades on the complex are cheap and surface level to cover mold, water damage, filth from smoking neighbors, and age. Everything from paying your water bills to the complex, to direct depositing rent payments has an extra fee associated with it. The front office staff are rude and unhelpful. Do yourself a favor, there are ten other complexes in a quarter mile radius and I’m sure any of them would be better than here.
Do not come here unless you want to breath your neighbors’ weed and cigarette smoke. The stench and fumes from our neighbors’ smoke comes in through our shared vents. I bought two air purifiers, but it still reeks each time they light up. My wife and I told management about it a month ago and they have yet to do anything. Their response was that WE should call the police when we smell weed, and that nothing can really be done, since smoking is permitted in the complex. Our experience is not unique either. The AT&T guy who installed our internet told us that every time he comes here the apartments stink of weed. If you have the option, DO NOT RENT HERE. Do not trust the response to this review. Their supervision and attention to their online appearance far exceeds the care they have for their residents.
I honestly liked the apartment itself but there were a few times where I was mislead. When I first moved in I paid a "deposit" to hold the unit and then after I had paid this non refundable thing, I was then hit with the fact that I had to pay yet another "deposit" in order to move in, I had been lead to believe that the first deposit was it. I was annoyed but at least I would get it all back at the end of my lease. Fast forward a few months, and things get serious with my boyfriend and I am just wasting money on this apartment. I really did like the apartment, good locations, redone, neighbors are nice. But I tried to get out of my lease. They require a 60 days notice and a 2 months rent fee, which is fairly standard, but I found in my lease that with written permission, finding someone to take over the lease was an option. So, after getting said written permission, I spent almost a whole month trying to find someone to move in just for them to back out and decide that I can't have someone take over my lease. If I had known it wasn't going to be option, I would have given notice a month earlier and not wasted yet another month of rent. I essentially led their new tenant right to their front door just so they could turn around and charge me. -.- I don't know if its a matter of miscommunication or if it was intentional but I am annoyed that that is the way they think is acceptable to do business

I can’t say enough about the maintenance staff(Frank and Mike) at Lakes at Lincoln. They have gone above and beyond to rectify any concerns/needs I have had since moving in. As a result, my living experience here has been terrific. Both gentlemen have been most congenial and pleasant, and continue to go out of their way. Also, many thanks to Mary in the office for her ongoing helpfulness (and at times tolerance)since day one! Sincerely, Lisa M.

I moved into this apartment complex 6 months ago, excited because it was referred to me by some friends. Since the moment that I moved in though there has been endless issues. In the short time I have lived here I've had an unmentionable number of issues.... 1. Ants getting in (took weeks for them to help fix the issue) 2. Crown molding was falling off when I moved in 3. Mold was found in the vents 4. Oven stopped working suddenly (in the middle of cooking a nice meal, I might add) 5. Island counter top was unsecured when I moved in (unknown to me, causing me to break some of my favorite things) 6. Two leaks from the roof in the kitchen and the living room and after over 4 times of telling maintenance about it, it still has not been fixed 7. Sink was leaking when I moved in 8. The carpet has been disgusting since I moved 9. Window screens are disgusting and ripped Other general issues with the buildings as a whole: -Appliances need to be updated -Heat and air are through the roof because the insulation is horrible. -Porch is cracked on the bottom and leaning forward -All sorts of insects get in all the time because of the old structure -I can smell whatever my neighbor is doing (cigarettes, weed, dinner, etc.) - it is so strong that I get a headache and have to retreat to my bedroom and light as many candles as possible Not to mention that they want to increase my rent even after all of these issues. Needless to say, I am moving as soon as my lease is up. Too bad too, because this location is amazing. It definitely is not worth the pain and frustration at all though. The only plus side is that the staff is relatively friendly and the maintenance people have been quite quick/good (except for the leaks and the ants) My suggestion - whatever you do, do not move in here!
9 months ago my lease was up and the best rate was for a 9 month lease and now my lease is up again and the best lease is for 15 months. That makes my increase for less than a year over 60.00 for an apartment with 70's appliances.
The only problems I've had is with insects. Almost every day, I would come home to another insect or spider in my apartment. I finally just took it upon myself to spray an insecticide to eliminate the problem and it did. Secondly, my air condition would run a lot and I think it could be because the insulation within the walls is old and has become in effective.
Very old buildings.(mold, bugs, appliances). Very noisy because of the very thin walls, ceiling. Any door shut being a neighbor leaving or coming home along with a downstairs or upstairs neighbor you WILL here it as with a neighbors dishwasher or the washer/dryer. Office staff did not care to accommodate anyone with noise complaints or strong odors(outdoor dog poop/marijuana). Parties seemed to be an every night thing from at least one building surrounding you or yours your own and you always here them. The security staff they have hired never shows up and just allows it to go on if they do show up, even on weekday nights. Dogs barking through walls and if you live on bottom floor, there are non stop footstep sounds even if its a small poodle that lived above me(not the dogs fault). Kids just playing after school can be herd so easily as if you were having the conversation with them. If you do decide to move here DO NOT pay the pet deposit because there are neighbors of buildings that have pitbulls, Rottweiler's, and baby bulldogs. The price for how horribly maintained these apartments are is not worth it. Unless you enjoy old appliances, rude non caring staff, and constant noise distractions. Limited to AT&T for cable and internet just so they make even more money. The power in buildings will go out random times each month and the power bill is twice of a house from the super thin walls. Just look elsewhere!
I was honestly surprised at how fast the fixes were completed. I talked to a work mate about it he is still waiting on his work order at his apartment, which has been pending for 3 weeks! His partner and him are so impressed with The Fields, they are now looking to relocate here.
It has everything that one could need for amenities and location in GSO. Also a great price!
Nice locality . Nice office staffs. But Too many smokers.
I would recommend this apartment to my friends & my family
Great value for the price. Honestly expected my apartment to be a dump but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is.
much better response time! I was not home when the work order was completed but it was done in less than 5 minutes according to the tickets!
People want to live in a community that has reliable management I walked away knowing That when I do my part, I will be able to depend on the complex to do their part.
Because it is a great place to live; office staff is excellent, and so is maintenance.
I was extremely impressed with the leasing office. I feel like other apartments were talking down to me because I am younger and have never gotten an apartment before. The staff here explained everything to me, even the obvious things like how to get wifi and electricity set up. I'm extremely satisfied with my experience thus far!
I would recommend this apartment community. It is peaceful and well maintained. The service is excellent, the amenities are great, and the people are very nice.
I don't have any real problems with the apt. or the office staff..my problem is with AT&T..which YOU MUST USE for you internet provider..no choice..no options..and they suck..BIG TIME..you think Time Warner Cable stunk..lol...get ready........
Would recommend: Affordable, variety of units, on-site amenities, proximity to park. Would not recommend: Units are not energy efficient so power bills are quite high, some units not very visually appealing inside, mixed experiences with appliances (ex: quality of dishwasher), poor experiences with neighbors re: noise, often smell marijuana on property, lots of dog poop
I would recommend this community because it is a great area, there are nice amenities, and the price is affordable.
The response to the service was fast and excellent. Maintenance and office staff were professional and courteous. The reason for the 6 is I just moved in and found many problems that should have been repaired before occupancy.
I would highly recommend Lincoln green. The pools, work out area, and other amenities are a great bonus to the community.
It expensive. I live here currently and I've had trouble getting things fixed.
It'??s a good community, but the apartments are aging and the prices are high for older apartments.
My husband and I moved to this complex in August 2017 and it has been a nightmare. We have a dog and had a dispute with our downstairs neighbor because he would let his 3 dogs run wild in the parking lot and snarl very aggressively. When I told Sonja (the property manager) this in August 2018 after being chased to my car by these aggressive dogs and having an incident where one of his dogs nipped at my dog, she told me that she didn’t believe me because he had been a resident for many years, was elderly, and she had never personally seen the dogs running loose. Sonja never leaves the office though, so obviously she would’ve never seen this. Basically, if you live in this dump for long enough, you get some sort of immunity to do whatever you want. The walls here are paper thin, I can promise you that you’ll hear everything your neighbors are doing and they will hear you. This week, (June 3, 2019) my and my husband’s kitchen became infested with cockroaches. Our downstairs neighbor (the same one with the 3 dogs) is a hoarder. He has junk all over his patio and sitting outside by his front door. The roaches likely started in his apartment because he lives among his trash. I went in to the office and was told that this WASN’T an emergency and that an exterminator will come in a week! I asked what constitutes as an emergency and I was told RATS! It is completely unacceptable. I now can’t even use the kitchen because it is disgusting and the office is completely incompetent. Anyone moving into the area needs to steer clear and go to another apartment complex. There are so many better options in Greensboro. Our lease ends in 2 months and we can’t get out of here fast enough!
I have recommended this apartment complex to all of my graduate student friends and will continue to do so based on the competitive rates, apartment cleanliness and layouts, amenities, and overall pleasant manner from the staff. I really have enjoyed my time here thus far.
The apartments look a bit dated and could use some upgrades.
I feel this complex is a great place to live. Never had any issues or problems with the complex.
The amenities and area are great, I have no problems with that. The apartment itself and the rent cost are my only issues. The buildings are old with bad paint jobs covering up imperfections, dust, and hair. You can hear the people above you everywhere they walk in their apartment, the kitchen is really tiny and we pay extra for updated appliances that we don't have, I can't shower more than about 8 minutes before the water is ice cold and there is barely any natural light in the apartment, it feels like a dungeon.
The staff personnel is amazing, Especially Shelby really nice person, handle my paperwork really well.
I already have recommended LG to a friend who will be moving to NC next year.
This has nothing to do with the visit to my home, I love everything EXCEPT for all of the Bees! Has no one complained about the bees? I suppose we should expect bees because it's Spring but my God, I cant even sit on the patio with out getting head butted by five bees and praying they don't sting me. Is there anything that can be done? Some sort of repellant. I'll try anything at this point. (Still love it here tho) Please just help me get rid of the bees.
It?s quiet, with two pools, a gym, tennis, nearby parks/ paths, and close to Battleground so easily accessible. The people that work there are great.
The apartments themselves are old and need to be updated. They are also very dark and small. The gym is pretty okay, the laundry facilities seem pretty nice. The pools are full of cigarette butts and are too small and crowded to be very enjoyable, but it’s nice that they’re there. The natural atmosphere with the trees and the park nearby are the best selling points to me. There is zero handicapped access.
All my requests even when short staffed were taken care of in a timely and professional manner
I would recommend this community for pet friendly people on a budget. I would not recommend this community to people who want a well maintained & updated community.
The office is always ready and willing to help resolve any issues that you have. The community is in a really good area of Greensboro and the apartment is updated. Maintenance always stays on top of work orders not to mention I haven't had a problem with the residents!
If the outside look and elevation can be enhanced then it would be much better and gives a good feel to the residents
I have had my expectations met and exceeded. I feel like I am truly at "home"
