I had been researching this property through 1st Lake over the past few months before signing on here. The entire process from my first visit to signing on my lease was great. VERY helpful staff worked with me and followed up on any questions, concerns, EVERYTHING. Got a great deal during a special that helped with move in costs. Love the apartment I'm in so far. Quiet area and the neighbors are nice and NOT overly loud. The unit I'm in is very spacious with plenty of closets and storage. The grounds around the complex are clean and I enjoy the gym and walking track around the lake. The few maintenance requests I put in were completed in a timely manner. We needed a last minute apartment and that’s exactly what this is. Maintenance takes days to come and never really fixes the problem only the symptoms. We left our stroller and tricycle our front because we had no place to put them inside and they threw our property away. Smells like duck poop everywhere! Flies infested this apartment for about the first month! Creepy crawlers show up ALL the time. Appliances are so old and half functional. Find somewhere else to live!

I absolutely love how warm and welcoming the staff are here! The price range is expensive but for the price you pay it is definitely worth it to me. The apartments are huge, clean, and make you feel like you are already home! I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for room to grow their family or just starting out on their own. I believe it is extremely important that the staff are friendly and helpful because that is who you are going to be surrounded by when renting here. (:

So I recently relocated to the New Orleans area from out of state & I wanted somewhere peaceful to live, yet still 20 minutes away from downtown Nola and I’m so glad I found Lakes of Chateau North! It’s so nice here and provides a “homey” environment. AJ, My leasing representative is heaven sent! She is really sweet and patient. I probably spent about 4-6weeks on the phone with her PRIOR to me actually coming to take an in-person tour. Everytime I called, she was as nice as the first time. We finally met in person when I came to check the property out and I told her I feel like we are already friends! Joey is also extremely helpful and really sweet, she actually helped move me in on my Move in date! I walked in the office right before her break and she insisted on helping me get situated before she left. I say ALL that to say, the staff here are very professional, kind, and effective with getting your needs met in a timely matter. The property is in a great area of town, smooth roads, lots of restaurants and shopping minutes away. There’s even a Walmart so close by, one could walk it. Happy new resident!

Everything about this property, from the advertisement to the moving in experience was superb. When I first toured the property I found that everything was exactly as advertised. No bait and switch here. The grounds are impeccably maintained. On my move in date my unit was readily available and the minor issue on my walk through was address within a few hours. The office staff is pleasant and knowledgeable, as well as the maintenance staff. If I could give more stars I would.

Save yourself the frustration and just don't move here. The manager is very rude and does not care about the tenants if you report to the corporate office they make excuses for the staff at the property. After reading the same things over and over in reviews on multiple sites at some point you think that there would be an understanding that it's not everyone else and try to get to the root of the problem instead of acting like none exist or that these things are normal and happen everywhere. Maintenance is slow to nonexistent, there are numerous mold issues, the gates are always broken and the walls are very thin and the air conditioning unit does not cool the units properly during the summers and let's not forget the range of bugs that were found in my apartment including roaches. Please do your research, read multiple reviews on just about any website and it will valudate everything I have listed. Most of the positive reviews are years old and even back then there were issues. It's just a lot of money to pay for ongoing issues. As far as positives the grounds are very pretty and fairly well kept. Unless you live near the driveways or have bad neighbors overall the place is pretty quiet. Could be a good location just need new management or proper training in customer service of the current one instead of making excuses for them. Once they get you in and the lease signed you are no longer a priority as they have done their job and you have signed a lease and will either pay through the lease or pay to get bbm out of it either way they win.
should have taken heed when I came to view the complex and was told by the agent that she locked the clubhouse for the day and was with someone else but that I could wait outside in my car and she would come and get me when she was done (May in Louisiana)during business hours. My 1st night there my toilet kept overflowing when flushed, I reported it the next morning. The next day it was still not fixed I went back into the office and explained again as this is a 1 bedroom apartment. I should never pay rent and have to walk to the clubhouse at night for 2 days to use the restroom. Early July I started smelling a mildew smell in my bathroom. weeks later I see a wet spot at the top of my shower head on the sheetrock. I did an online maintenace request. Took 4 more weeks 2 calls and 2 office visits finally over a month later I got a call to ask me if I could come into the office and bring them a key as the one that they had was not working. left work early and was told that the person there did not know how to cut the key and asked if I could please go to Walmart or HomeDepot and get one made. (Really!) I got the key made and left it for the apartment complex. I call the next morning to find out if they got the key and the status on the leak, I asked to speak with the manager. I was told that according to the notes that someone had come out withing 48 hours of my initial report and fixed the leak. I responded that there's no way that it was fixed as each day the wall is wet not to mention how do you go in and fix something in an apartment and your key doesn't work. I asked the manager to get back with me after she figured out what was going on she agreed by lunch on the next day. The next day at 3 pm I called and asked about the status of the leak and what else would need to be done and I was told that the sheetrock people would be out to repair the sheetrock . I asked for the manager and When I arrived home that day the wall was still wet. Thursday the wall was physically flowing water...finally fixed found mold and and an 8 hr repair. The walls are so thin that I can hear my neighbor blow his nose and urinate that is not normal. The security gates rarely work. My bedroom never cools down regardless of the temperature I put the air on. When I inquired about lease termination I was told that they weren't sure that the things described above warranted lease termination. No ownership taken for their mistakes, we messed up now here's what you can do to fix it.

Read the fine print on your lease! 1st lake will sneak in like automatic renewals and weird renewal dates like the 6th of the month. When you give 30 days notice and move out at the end of a month, they will charge you for the 6 days plus a late fee. The people in the office are incompetent and dishonest. The security gates are often left wide open.
I am a non-smoker but everyday for the last 4 months I lived there, it reeked of cigarette smoke from my neighbor's apartment. My car literally reeked of smoke. It was worse than a casino. I had 2 children both with a hx of asthma and other respiratory issues. The walls stayed damp and where there's dampness... mold followed. The roof leaked and the carpet was wet due to the catch basin not being properly maintained. Their solution was to suction the wet carpet and allow the sheet rock to dry out. Once dried they would simply paint over the wet distressed areas. I asked to move and was told that I would probably just be near another smoker. Mary Ellen... you suck as a manager. Move somewhere else. Not worth the hassels.
MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD!! OFFICE MANAGER is RUDE and doesn't care about tenants. I have been dealing with MOLD in my apartment for 6 months. My children keep getting sinus infections and they just keep painting over the mold, it keeps coming back. They want me to buy out my lease to move, but they won't get rid of the MOLD!!
The Lakes of Chateau North was a sub-par experience. First, I would like to state that the grounds are beautiful and the maintenance is like a 5 star maintenance team. Now, unfortunately the STAFF is absolutely a NIGHTMARE. Nightmare enough to make me move out. The assistant manager has the worst attitude that I have ever seen in a business environment. I do not understand how such a large company would hire such incapable people to work the front office. I was told multiple times different information and the solution was always to call corporate to find out the answer. I would assume that they would hire friendly people to make prospective residents WANT to move in. If you would like to move to the lakes, I would recommend only speaking with the manager, as she is most knowledgeable about the premises and the rules and regulations that govern the property. I wish the staff was friendlier and the asst. manager was not so nasty to work with. Now, lets talk about the premises, neighbors, maintenance, etc. Overall, the premises is nice, although they have had an ongoing problem with the lakes being lower than normal. The maintenance team and staff are absolutely a pleasure to deal with. The noise is relatively low, except that you can hear people walking above you. The neighbors in my area were friendly and respectful. Overall, the lakes itself is a nice property that is relatively inexpensive. The only problem I ever had was the staff in the office and their sub-par attitudes and low knowledge about the leases, contracts, deposits, etc. As they say, one rotten apple ruins the bunch!
I do not recommend this property for one reason: the office staff. They were not friendly once we had moved in. There was a lot of turnaround in the office and the staff, as of now, is very difficult to deal with. The attitudes are less than favorable. Overall, the maintenance was wonderful and the grounds were beautiful. The apartments were a little small, but livable. The noise was minimal. I absolutely loved the maintenance staff, the ducks, and the pond, but what spoiled my experience was the front office and their negative attitudes. On many occasions, they messed up or provided wrong information. I know that many of my neighbors were determined to move because of dealing with the same issues with the front office. It is ashame how the staff can ruin a good complex and turn it into a bad experience
The maintenance at these apartments has been declining over the last couple of years and with the recent problem in the two lakes has reached a new low. It appears whoever is in charge has no clue as to how to fix the of keeping the level of the two lakes where it needs to be. For the past month they have been draining the lakes, creating a mess and jeopardizing the health of the fish. All of this has resulted in nothing but a very ugly couple of lakes instead of the pretty landscape that used to exist. Someone in upper management should take the initiative to follow up on the work being done and finally hire knowledgable people to fix the problem. Once the fish on these dwindling lakes start dying this place will have an unbearable smell. What a sad statement for a once lovely area.
NICE COMFERTABLE A LITTLE PRICEY THOE BEAUTIFAL AND ROOMY PLUS 2 POOLS
No issues what so ever. Every issue met and beautiful landscape. Employees are always nice and generous. Apartment is comfortable and beautiful.
