Property Ratings at Lakeshore Village Apartments
I lived in this apartment for 15 months. It was overall good, except that I frequently heard crazy neighbors arguing. A couple living below me would fight in the middle of the night and that would wake me up; this happened a lot. A good thing is that I think Village Apartments take good care of each building and laundry facility. The staffs are polite and friendly. I think you will live comfortably if you have quiet neighbors.
Management is rude and condescending. If they answer the phone they hang up on you. They do not fix stuff that is broken and damaged. Terrible place to.live.
I've lived at Lakeshore Village for about 3 years without any major complaints. But recently a lot of construction improvements have been taking place. The inside of my apartment was really fixed up--brand new cabinets and countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, new carpet and flooring throughout. The outsides of the building are being spruced up now too--pretty new flowers and landscaping, repaved parking lot, new roof and power washed siding. When all this happened, I thought rent might go up, but so far it hasn't. I feel blessed to live in such a nice place.
The only good thing about our stay here was that we had a couple good neighbors. Other than that this place sucks. Management is absolutely awful. They are probably the most rude and inconsiderate management staff I have ever seen. There are a couple women in the office that are always passive aggressive and rude over phone. The walls are paper thin. Parking is very poor. They didn't have enough spaces near my apartment to accommodate all of the residents. The parking lots are riddled with pot holes. The maintenance staff was good, I will give them that. Always prompt. If I could give them 0 stars then I would.
The grounds are well kept and the buildings are decent. Our one bedroom was spacious and the layout makes sense. I loved the washer and dryer in the unit and the a.c. works great. The gas stove was a plus but the appliances are outdated. Our fridge needed repaired more then once and when the main maintence man was on vacation his replacements were intrusive and awkward. Their parking lot needs repainted because tenants and guests park wherever, limiting the spaces. The main complaint I would have is the disorganization of the office and lack of communication of office staff. We filled out renewals months before they were due and we had to wait on the staff to finish filing their part of the paperwork. After calling multiple times to see how everything was going we were told everything was set, only to have us re-fill out paperwork we had turned in months previous. To avoid a hassle we turned in the paperwork again to which they responded that they did not need it because they "found" our originals. Keep in mind that these documents have personal information on them and could be a liability if someone were to gain access to that information that are not authorized to do so. When we took it to ourselves to obtain paperwork that they told us would be taken care of on their end and finally going in to finalize and resign the lease they had threatened to evict us because we were signing a day late then when everything needed to be signed. Mind you that the date due was on a Sunday when the office was closed and we came in Monday morning with paperwork that they were supposed to retrieve which we took upon ourselves to retrieve because they had not, and we were ensured multiple times months earlier that we would not have to do anything else but sign the lease renewal when it was ready. Their office was disorganized and many employees seemed to have no idea about what was going on, and their attitudes towards good responsible tennants were rude and disrespectful. Threatening a tenant to evict them through no fault of their own is uncalled for and completely unprofessional. If they can manage to get their staff properly trained and organized this is a very nice place to live.
We currently live in a 3 bedroom apartment at Lake Shore Village. We love how spacious the whole apartment is but beware the neighborhood! We have had problems with loud neighbors, a slashed tire (and stolen tags off the plate) and stolen packages. Kids also run around everywhere unsupervised. The apartments themselves are decent but when we moved in a lot of stuff was broken.
I rent a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath. The master bedroom is huge and has a big walk in closet. Also has washer/dryer in the apartment which is nice. Clubhouse has, pool, workout room, etc. very nice and easy to work with here.
I WOULD NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO LIVE HERE! 1. there's nowhere for anyone to park, if you have babies or groceries have fun walking sometimes three buildings over in the cold or the blasting heat! unless you want to spend another $10. a month. 2. The staff has no care in the world what your issues are if you're in a bind and need help. I had my baby three months early, I wasn't even sure if she was going to live and they charged me the late $25.00 daily fee for one day! because I was in the hospital. one time I paid late due to a holiday and had to argue that the day didn't count do to the holiday. 3. maintenance men are the only ones that seem to be polite, they are the one star. however sometimes if you need work done it takes them a while. 4. I got a notice in my door saying that if I don't pick up my cat waist outside that I will be charged a $25.00 fee for each pile. Joke is 1. I have no cat, 2. cats don't go in the middle of the yard like dogs 3. there's stray cats in the area that could have been at fault. 5. THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERY LITTLE THING THEY CAN. It's cold and you want to wait till morning to take your garbage out, NOPE $25.00 fee to keep it by your door. Patio, you can't keep bikes out...it looks bad. 6. every year you stay plan on your bill going up $20.00 a year. just because they can!
