Property Ratings at Lakeside at Coppell Apartments
A resident since 2019 everything was good until IRT acquired the property. Maintenance staff are excellent! Always punctual and polite. However management won’t let them fix issues properly. For the last several years, the roof has been leaking causing stains in the ceilings along with an abundance of black mold. Instead of fixing the roof and replacing moldy sheet rock, they just spray it with bleach and call it good. We also have a serious Rat problem in our garage. Management was notified. We were told they would send exterminators to deal with the issue. They instead sent maintenance to spray foam on the corners of the garage door. Never saw an exterminator or heard anything else from management. Considering the cost of rent you would think living without black mold and rats would be a reasonable expectation. Stay away from IRT properties.

Hi, thank you for sharing this feedback with us and we regret to hear that you had a poor experience with us. We would like to discuss these issues further, please give us a call at your earliest convenience. Thank you
This “community” or lack there of is complete TRASH. I have lived there for the past 5 years and have dealt with my sons floor breaking to the point I could see my car in the garage, the maintenance flooding my home and damaging everything in my garage, nearly losing my life due to my ex-husband in the apt and them charging me to move even WITH a protective order in place as well as charging ME for nearly 1k damages done by him(he was on the lease too). My ac going out nearly the whole month of July,my son and I could not live there for half the month due to the heat. Getting a phone call back did not happen through that whole experience, and I still have yet to see the bill paid for the electric bills that month. Roaches and ants infested, you pay for pest control but do not receive actual pest control, I had to call my own pest control to get the situation fixed. You move in to trash and broken things, then they charge YOU for things that you did not do. The property management is absolutely disfunctional, disorganized, unprofessional, condescending, and they treat their tenants like absolute trash. The apartments themselves are completely disgusting and poorly put together, it is not worth the price, the headache, and the frustration. Everything is falling apart. There is a lack of amenities and if you want a place with a pool don’t move here. They have one, it is just closed ALL OF THE TIME. This has been the worst experience in all my years of dealing with property management, and if it wasn’t for circumstances and my son’s school- I would have left a long time ago. Not to even begin to mention what all happened while trying to move out and the absurd unjust charges I was charged with that. If you are looking for a home, stay far away from here. I can assure you, you will be treated like you do not matter, you will be robbed by the property management left and right, you will never get a phone call back, and you will live in absolute trash.

Good morning, Thank you for your feedback, it is very important to us. I'm sorry that your stay here at Lakeside at Coppell was not the best experience. I would like to discuss your concerns you mentioned on the survey. My name is Idali Leon the community Manager when would you have a moment to discuss these concerns? Please feel free to reach out to me by phone 972-304-4930 or via email at ileon@IRTliving.com. Sincerely, Idali Leon Property Manager Lakeside at Coppell
First and foremost, the ongoing rent increases have become exorbitant and unreasonable. It is evident that the landlord prioritizes maximizing profits over the well-being and satisfaction of the tenants. This blatant disregard for the financial burden imposed on residents is deeply disheartening. However, the rent increase issue pales in comparison to the appalling neglect displayed towards essential amenities on the premises. One glaring example is the broken tennis court lights, which have remained non-functional for an astonishing two years. Numerous complaints from residents have been lodged, yet the landlord has conveniently chosen to ignore the problem, refusing to allocate the necessary funds for repairs.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience with us.We would like to hear more about how we can further improve. We would appreciate it if you could give us a call to discuss this in more detail. Thank you.
You will need to call management at least 15 times before they return your call. Rent price is so high now, it encouraged us to buy a house instead. They will charge you random fees and won’t explain why when you ask for an explanation. The gym is messy and dirty and barely big enough for 2 people. We lived without floors and without a wall between our neighbors garage and our living room for 6-7 months before they repaired it and then charged us $77 when the walls were damaged by the floor guys.
This is the fourth week with my garage issue. I have called and it's hard to get someone on the phone. I have sent emails with no response. I have input maintenance tickets for the leak in my garage and they've been closed without fixing. Now my garage looks worse, mold is growing and I still don't have a response. This is definitely far from "luxe living"
It has been 2 weeks that I've been ignored by management and the maintenance portal. Pools are closed on Mondays so feel free to come to my garage then. I can't use the luxury of having a garage due to this issue!!! Look elsewhere!!! We've had plumbing issues, on going leaks, wasp infestation and a snake all in 12 months!! But this new leak is the cherry on top!!!
With the exception of the lack of parking spaces and the newly enforced "can't park at the curb" policy, I would recommend.
It' too old to pay such high cost.
Great location and staff very involved with my needs and see ithem through to completion.
It was a great community, wonderful location and nice home. It just didn't fit my needs for what I was looking for but I would certainly recommend it to others.
Good school, good amenities. Building and appliances are way old.
Management does a good job keeping the property clean, but tends to get crossways with the tenants in doing so. There's probably a better way to reach the goal of a clean community. Feels like the pools are out of order often.
We have the space we need. Community is well kept up and quiet. It is great for a family.
Great location, staff and apartaments.
I've lived here 13 years and have loved it. I would highly recommend it.
I would recommend this community because it is safe and in a great neighborhood. The rates are kind of pricy. If I had to change anything about this location it would be the rates on 1-bed room apartments.
Everyone has been so kind and helpful with all our requests. We appreciate the promptness everyone has in helping our home be as comfortable and fitting to our needs as possible.
Rent is expensive, however, I think we do get a lot from what we pay in rent.
yes
Everyone is very helpful and welcoming. I have had 3 request and all have been completed in less than a few hours.

Residents continue to break the rules in regard to putting out their trash, picking up after their animals and keeping children under control. The kids are often wild and unruly and ride their bikes/skateboards etc. right down the middle of the road with no regard to traffic. Adults do this as well.
Thank you Loretta.I appreciate you resolving my request so promptly. Robert Bailey
Still have a problem with constant noise. I hear in the evening and all night long a constant "thump, thump" of someone's bass playing. Need help from office personnel in determining origin of noise.
the community is great and it is tucked off in a great location.
The Rent is in upward trend, Some of my basic drawbacks when i took over the apartment was reflected as penalty in my final checklist. The kitchen floor when i took over had a crack and misaligment , tub had discolourisation etc. Now i am telling others to take picture of each and every corner to avoid being penalised!
The gym needs to be improved. It is very cramped. Also, it needs regular cleaning. There is a lot of dirt. Parking: rules need to be enforced. Many people park wherever they like.
Well maintained grounds, attached garages, wood burning fireplaces! Just clean up the unsightly balconies and patios and you are top notch!
Every time I've needed assistance, the staff and maintenance team have ALWAYS been prompt and courteous! By FAR the BEST apartment connive ever been a part of!
I would not recommend to rent with out looking at the unit first so many different configurations.
This is a very expensive community and that's the reason tenant comes temporarily and go very quickly in months. You can not make neighbor or friends here. Water bill is very high and more then $150 a month for family of 3-4. This much bill you will not get outside in single family house 6-8 person and 4000 square feet house watering with big back yard. The A/C broke down in very cold or in very hot season and only fan keep running, which result in 3-400 dollar extra electric bill. AC looks too much old and noisy. Outside community ponds are very dirty. I am stuck here due to my kids school and outside near HWY 121 location.

Communication was a big issue. If my service requests were not completed, let me know why. Don't just mark it completed and not let me know why it was not completed. The phone was rarely answered by anyone at the complex and my phone calls were never returned. I tried emailing but my emails were never returned until I sent several. This got very frustrating when I was not able to go in and talk to someone with my work schedule.

Seems very nice and in a good area. We know people there and got a good impression.
The community looks very safe, clean and well-maintained. The service professionals are friendly and welcoming.
The fobs weren't working due to some issues. I had to pursue that with the office a couple of times. I would have preferred quick action or better communication. I had to live without using the fitness center for 14 days.

Thank you for the excellent review. It is very much appreciated! We are so happy to see you love the community as much as we do. Please be sure to let us know if there is ever anything you need.
I have toured multiple rental communities before renting lakeside. My choosed this community based on my instincts bec being new to texas.. i had not enough time or references.. but end of the day i was totally satisfied and was proven that my instincts are right. Though there were several negativity in the online reviews i trusted the management associates honesty.. and thankful for that. Will totally recommend my friends.
It is very expensive - especially for the way we received the apartment - and still dealing with issues. I think that a lot of it comes from the tenants before us - that trashed the place.
The community is nice. I believe if the front office team had better communication skills/management and addressed issues immediately then it would be even better. It seems they jot down issues and forget to input them into the system or relay the message to whoever needs to work on the problem.
It is located in a very convenient location. It does give the appeal of neat, clean, and safe.....But I dont really recommend it because of the rent rate, always someone new in the office, and sometimes the maintance.
Certain areas of the complex are more desirable than others (parking).
It depends on whether they are single, married, with or without children. Too many people that are transient live here and use their garages as storage sheds. Some of the garages are nightmares. They are filled to the top with junk. I would think this would be a fire hazard.
The community is nice but the specs of the apartments just don't fit my particular needs at this time
Rent is high would be the only reason I would have NO trouble recommending Lakeside at Coppell.
I liked it overall. The rent was little too high and I was not happy the way the tennis court was maintained (It was one of the reasons why I rented an apartment there).
I enjoy living in this community. I feel safe and am comfortable. I love the maintenance crew and leasing agent.
I would not because of jump in rent. $100 is extream for 2018 should I expect another $100 increase in rent for 2019? I need to know because if that is the case, I need to make plans to move.
I love living at Lakeside at Coppell. Destini, Ashley, and Tiffany all do a great job as well. It's a great team and they are quick to listen to our ideas. They handle matters quickly too.
I would if they have the money and I would tell them they need to know that their rent could go up tremendously and they will not help you out or work with you with that. But other than that the community is amazing.
Overall a great and fulfilling experience although, it would help if someone picked up the phone when we call for service requests. Had to make multiple calls to get something serviced.
