Property Ratings at Lakeside Village Apartments
I wouldn’t recommend moving here. On top of having two floods from leaky pipes, I currently have upstairs neighbors from hell and after making an official noise complaint with examples all I got in response was that it is “normal noise”. Definitely plan on moving when my lease is up

Have had problems the entire stay here largely based on communication...and very much alive bees all throughout the apartment. So much passive aggressive behavior from the front office.
To start we were shown example of apartment. Not actual apartment. Then when moved in, we had issues that we document. Then when we move they make us pay still for the damage that we noted when moving in. The water is always off. They start to do parking lot, but clearly hired the cheapest people. It look bad. Our contract finally run out and we dip set. I want to give 0 star but it no let me. I had a better year in Macomb Jail than lakeside. At least the jail water work.
My family and I have been here for 3 years and we have zero issues. Both maintenance and office staff are friendly and property is beautiful.

Thanks for the review! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Please let us know if we can do something to make your experience even better!
Most of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. When I've needed help I've been taken care of swiftly
Seriously..don't do it. They charge way too much for rent, and they don't take care of the property like they should. It took them a year to get the sidewalk fixed..theyre lucky noone tripped and fell. They don't get back to tenants, they just ignore them. If I wasn't stuck here, I would leave asap. They up rent like 100 every year too. It's horrible. The apartments are from like the 80s. Everything is old and broken or breaking.
I was shown the models, not the actual apartments, so that makes me wonder, from what I've read in the reviews, if I made a mistake by putting my $100 down on the apartment I had to take, because someone else got one that I wanted that was available to move in for September. Now I have to wait for; I don't know, October, November? What sucks is that I can't get my money back!
Pictures don't match up with the actual apartment. So, request to see the physical apartment. Appliances are old, very outdated and need constant repair. Potholes are everywhere even during the warmer months. Trash litters the common areas of the apartments despite signs. Quick to charge a late fee if one day late on rent.
False advertising at its fines!!! The pictures are nothing like you will get! The pool has bee. Closed most of the year already—- both pools. The hot tub is still closed, going on three years as is the steam rooms and saunas. The fitness room is a joke. The roads at pitted with pot holes trash everywhere including INSIDE the buildings. Very poor maintenance. The office is STILL CLOSED due to safety concerns ????. They are more than have to take your money and raise the rent …… for what????? The hits keep on coming here.
They have a dog park but they don't know how to keep it clean or stocked with poop bags. The garbage is overflowing so now there's dog poop all over with flies all over the poop. So after the flies sit on the dog poop, they then come and land on you to carry the dog poop to you. It's a real health hazard. There is something very wrong with this place for them to let the dog park get so disgusting and hazardous. It's been days if not a week since anyone emptied the poop garbage cans or filled the container with bags. and it's hot and humid so the smell is so disgusting. So so nasty.
From day one, the staff at Lakeside has been a disappointment. The day before I was supposed to move in, I got a call informing me that the unit that I had already signed for was not available. I informed the staff that I would likely have a pet soon after moving in, and they assured me that it would not be an issue. All I'd need to do is let them know when I get a pet, and everything will be fine. Once I got my dog, I informed the resident manager, and they told me it's not okay, because I'm not in a pet friendly building. I guess it actually is an issue if I want a pet. Every last appliance in the place is old enough to drink legally. The refrigerator was broken when I moved in. Unfortunately, they don't have the parts to fix it, so my fridge is super-glued together. The dishwasher is about as loud as a jet engine and as reliable as a Boeing 737 Max. The kitchen faucet has been leaking ever since I moved in. They've "fixed it" twice, but it still leaks when in use. The dryer is in extremely poor shape. The start dial is not functional, so the dryer remains in the "on" position 100% of the time. There is always a natural gas smell coming from it. It squeaks so loudly that I feel bad for my neighbors, and the paint has chipped off in several places, but at least its all coated with rust. We've had maintenance out 5-6 times to fix it, so it's still broken. The only thing I do like about the place is the carpet. It's in such horrible condition, that I don't have to worry about taking my shoes off when I come inside, because that might actually clean it a little.

I recently signed my lease for a 2nd year. The office staff are always friendly and very helpful. Maintenance is not often needed, but when something does go wrong, it is handled asap by the friendly maintenance crew. I feel safe and secure in this gated community. A quiet atmosphere with a park being constructed just a short distance across the road. A nice trail is located behind the apartments. I have enjoyed seeing, from my kitchen window, deer feeding and strolling alongside this trail. I am looking forward to another great year.

Lakeside village will try to charge you after move out without contacting you. The first contact will be with a collection agency. There was no damage to the apartment other than what was caused by the (2) fires that occurred in another apartment and that LCV chose to not repair.

My family lived in this beautiful community for nearly 8-years and we loved it!!. Say what you will about LSVA, but OUR experience was truly life changing! We owed a home in our beloved Detroit, where my children grew up and had great times. But then things begun to changed in 2009 for the worse in my neighborhood, and we HAD to move!! After looking for a few weeks we found LSVA, and decided we would call it home for a couple of years. The surrounding community had everything to offer; shopping, restaurants, theaters, 2-malls, large chain grocery stores and a host of entertainment, and all that with 1-2 miles, how could we resist! My granddaughter would attend Blue Ribbon Chippewa Valley School District. So, in March of 2011, we Moved in, so easy and with a 6- month special! My old home was only 750 sq ft, here, it was 1200. Very spacious for me, my husband and granddaughter (5). Baby we stretched out in that apartment! Mad room! Loved it! Every morning the grounds crew were out by 7:30-8am grooming the grounds. Great amenities, including: 2- heated pools, sauna, exercise and weight rooms , etc. The office staff was ALSOME!! LOVED me some Meagan G.!! She beautiful, professional and caring, had a great team behind her. The Maintenance Crew is alsome as well; never waited more then a day to get anything done. One day our AC went out and they had me another one in by 4pm, we were CHILLIN again!! Every year that I stayed they gave me up to 5- amenities to select as their way of saying thanks....loved it! I miss my favorites;Jenny (Jen- in housekeeping), David, and the one who fixed my furnace 5 in the morning! John, phil, and most of all Jason, that's my heart, so sweet and real! And that's why it was so hard to say goodbye!!

Thank you so much for your extremely kind review! It is absolutely heartwarming to read such an amazing review from our residents! I know the entire staff will appreciate this as soon as I share it when them. Thank you for calling Lakeside your home for so many years! Sincerely, Megan Gutierrez - Executive Manager
This is not a premier apartment community. Neighbors make false reports to both the leasing office and the local police department. The staff really only cares about what goes on instagram. It almost feels like that matters more than any issues that arise with tennants. The staff wont really want to talk to you when you have a problem. Their famous quote is "that's an unfortunate situation". You have a buzzer on your main door to your building to keep unwanted people out. Yet the door isn't even locked and anyone could walk in. I don't know how that's safe. You can honestly get a much better place for much cheaper. I know this because I did. Trust this review.

Current Resident. Way over priced for what you get. I live in a one bedroom one bath and it’s so dated. Nothing besides the carpet has been updated. Oldest appliances I’ve ever seen and they constantly go out. Maintenance is great (which is why it got more than one star) and comes out very quickly when needed, but unfortunately we need them far too often. Surprisingly quiet considering everyone on my floor has a loud barking dog or crying baby (which you can hear in the hallway, but not in the apartment). It’s probably a nice place if you’re looking for the most expensive 2 bed 2 bath units since those are the only ones that get updated.
I have been here for 2 years and it's been great. Excellent space and layout, utilities and service. Management has been very professional and always prompt with any questions I have had. Great location, everything you need within 1 mile. I would recommend Lakeside Village Aparments to anyone.

Hello, Thank you very much for your review and kind words about our community. We appreciate your feedback! Warm Regards, Megan Gutierrez Manager
Wish I could rate with zero stars. Terrible staff don't expect to get your security deposit back. When I moved out I was charged a smoking fee and I'm a non smoker and disputing the charge did nothing.
I've been living here for about a month now and I have nothing negative to say; the complex is well maintained, shopping is within walking distance, excellent staff, great community and friendly neighbors. It was intimidating to find a new place to call home but Paragon Properties made the choice easy; just take a tour and you'll be convinced on why you should call Lakeside Village home.
The apartments are in a safe and friendly area. Leasing agents are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Maintenance crews will fix and address any and all problems you have. Friendly neighbors and just an overall amazing vibe to this community. Definitely recommend Lakeside Village Apartments to anyone looking for an apartment to rent!

Hi Michelle, Thank you very much for this review! We really appreciate your kind words and LOVE having you here! Megan Gutierrez Resident Manager
the Weight room is a plus. they once had a game room, but removed it in middle of our lease in Spring 2015. Maintenance request was usually quick and efficient, The park is safe and clean. One down side residence with cars don't ride at speed limit though the apt complex at the main entrance. upside it's a quiet place to live. I wish they had 3 bedrooms for an upgrade for a growing family.
I lived in this apartment complex before , as well as several of my friends, never a problem, very friendly staff great gym with a sauna and hot tub! will definetly return here when I move back out that way
I could sit here and tell you how great lakeside village apartments are and how you will feel like home as soon as you sign that lease. But I don't believe I have to. All you have to do is come see for yourself. If u want a apartment where it feels private. That has two pools and a playground for your kids and a fitness center lakeside village is your new home that's waiting for you.
The floor plans are really open, which is really nice, because it makes the apartment feel SOOO much bigger! We are in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom and both the bedrooms and bathrooms are quite spacious. The complex has two pools, a gym, a few large grassy areas suitable for sports, and new playground in the center. There's also a conference room and clubhouse room that you can rent out--which are also large and nicely styled. Maintenance has always been extremely quick and courteous; thankfully we really haven't needed them! The only thing I wish I could change would be the kitchen. It's on the smaller side and has dated cabinetry and appliances, but it seems in general that's what is available in this area. Additionally, it is located within a couple of miles of everything. There are two malls and a hospital within walking distance, several restaurants, and shopping plazas galore. The main roadway is about a block away and connects to two major highways within a few miles in either direction. Lastly, of all the apartments we looked at in this area, Lakeside Village was BY FAR the best value for the money (dollars per square foot plus in great condition).
I thought the area was a good location and the apartment complex appear to be safe. I had no major problems, and I lived there for 2 years and 3 months. Staff was great.
First floor, 2 bed and one bath. Apartment stays cool even without a/c, helpful and friendly management, complex is family and pet friendly. Apartment itself is fairly nice for its rent, but finding a lot of bugs inside. Appliances and interior a little dated but still works fine. Overall a nice place to live.
