Situated about 12 miles southwest of Springfield and about 22 miles northwest of Hartford, Connecticut, Southwick is a beautiful, wooded community directly south of Westfield and Westfield State University. Parks in Southwick include Granville Gorge and Whalley Park. Six Flags New England is directly east of Southwick, and several golf and country clubs are located in or near Southwick.
Settlers moved to the Southwick area around 1690. Originally a village in the southern part of Westfield, Southwick broke free of the town and incorporated in 1770. They did so because church attendance was required in colonial times, and the church in Westfield was too far of a walk, especially in winter, and they wanted to build their own. Southwick is the southernmost community in Massachusetts. There’s a small area that dips below the otherwise straight border with Connecticut known as the jog.

Property Ratings at Lakewood Village
My husband and I lived in a two bedroom townhouse for 3 years before purchasing our first house, and it was a great experience. The location is close to the center of Southwick and only 20 minutes away from Hazard Ave in Enfield. There is protected land next door, which allows for some great nature views. Walking distance to Congamond Lake and great restaurants. Walls are thick so we rarely could hear our neighbors. Love the patios. And the staff communicates well and Yanni will fix anything within a day or so. I would highly recommend living here if you can snag a spot!
I rented a Townhouse apartment in August 2011 expecting to be there for a year or two. I just moved to a condo in CT. The apartment manager is very friendly and responsive to the few calls I needed for service. The grounds are well maintained and snow is promptly removed from the sidewalks and driveway. Rental prices are very competitive. The area has great energy. The only negative is that the apartments are all electric and the monthly electric bills can be high during the winter months.
If your looking for a nice, quiet, country setting...then you will love these apartments. There are several styles to choose from...efficiency, 1 BR, 2 BR. I live in a 2 BR townhouse. It has a nice little private patio that you can have your own mini garden in. With sliding doors in LR that my cat loves to sit out and stare at all the birds, rabbits and chipmunks. The staff is very friendly, and quick to respond to your needs. I would highly recommend these apartments.
