Landmark at Abilene

Downtown Abilene still retains some of its frontier town appeal. This may not be the "Wild West" any longer, but you'll still find traces here and there -- especially at the Frontier Texas! Museum, which explores Abilene's history as part of the Old West. The Grace Museum, located in a historic hotel, celebrates art in Texas with both permanent and traveling exhibits. The 1930s Paramount Theatre provides a beautiful setting in which to enjoy a variety of performances. Fort Phantom Hill, home to the remains of an 1851 army post, provides a more haunting experience.

Living in Downtown Abilene, you'll enjoy a variety of festivals and events, from the West Texas Fair and Rodeo to Big Day Downtown, an event that includes live music, craft vendors, and an after-dark pub crawl. Other nearby destinations include Play Faire Park, the Stevenson Splash Pad, and the Adventure Cove Aquatic Center.
