Just south of Barton Creek Habitat Preserves sits one Austin’s most family-friendly neighborhoods, West Oak Hill. Popular for its large lot sizes and relative tranquility when compared to the rest of the city that lies to the east, West Oak Hill is full of charming older houses, contemporary apartment homes, and plenty of amenities.
The nature preserve to the north is a notable feature, but there are also plenty of shopping centers on the neighborhood’s west side. Local restaurants of all types line Hwy 290 and TX-71, including popular spots like Jack Allen’s Kitchen Oak Hill. Take 290 to I-35 or up to the MoPac Expressway and you’ll be in Downtown Austin in just a few minutes. Commuters will appreciate the less intense traffic in West Oak Hills, and all the parks and green spaces that surround it.

Property Ratings at Landmark Conservancy
Fast response from the maintenance team and a quick and accurate diagnosis of the problem. Very professional and courteous and completion of work in a timely manner. Thanks Dallas, and thank you maintenance team.
I have lived here for the past two years and intend to extend my lease at my anniversary date. I like that I can access whatever I want /need, within 20 minutes of my apartment. And a feature which is very important to me, is that every building has an elevator. The leasing/office team are polite and professional and the maintenance team have been very responsive. I find it a nice place to live.
I love landmark! The management is super nice and helpful! They have quick maintenance guys, and beautiful and spacious apartments. Have rarely had any sort of problem and theyve always been able to help.
When I moved in, the complex was undergoing a management change. I have to say that now that they are in place, things are pretty good. The two specific issues that I have had were addressed immediately.
The newest management seems friendly and professional. The inside of the apartments are very nice.
Lived here for 2 years and can't wait for it to be my last. Management is the most disrespectful group that I have ever dealt with. Each interaction leaves me speechless because I can't believe they're allowed to speak to residents that way. Required trash service doesn't get picked up most of the week when it's scheduled, and asking questions or requesting management assistance with anything only results in yelling, sarcasm and being hung up on. Truly shocked that this is how communities are allowed to be run.
This place is trash. Management is useless. Changes employees often. Main gate hardly ever works. Insulation between apartments is non existent. Don't waste your time here. Looks good but pictures are deceiving.
Landmark Conservancy has been a great place to live. I have referred several of my friends to live here.
Emails are not always answered. I was bumped off the covered parking listed when management changed. The hallways are not kept clean and are showing stains and wear. The traffic noise is very intense if along the main road. Otherwise the apartment is wonderful.
Before I moved down to Austin, I came down for a weekend and frantically searched for apartments. In comparison to all the places I looked, Landmark Conservancy was a breath of fresh air. I felt I had finally found a home: in my price range, beautiful community and amenities, etc. After signing I read the reviews of the place - they were not good.. Undeterred, I moved in and have had nothing but problems: mold, moving units, termites, mold again, moving units, having additional charges and no compensation. When you read the reviews, please believe them, this place is a wolf hiding in sheeps wool.
Landmark is an excellent and convenient place to live, provided neighbors comply with the rules and regulations set for everyones benefit.
I spent countless hours searching for the right community to live in. While amenities may be comparable elsewhere, the staff, overall cleanliness, friendliness of neighbors, and maintenance responsiveness can not be beaten. The buildings are well spaced and you dont feel like you have been packed in like sardines. I could not be happier with my decision to move into Landmark Conservancy.
I needed a place to stay within a week and Landmark worked with me with professionalism, kindness and respect. They really care about their tents.
Landmark Conservancy is the most wonderful place I ever lived (including all of my houses I have had in my lifetime). It is a very quiet place to live. It is very close to downtown Austin, Bee Caves, Lake Travis, and Spicewood Springs for me and my family. Also, the scenery is beautiful! I have thoroughly enjoyed living here. I will most likely stay here when my lease is up in February 2021.
In and of itself. Landmarc has been a decent experience. Even with noise pollution from above. However, apartment living will never get a 10 from me, only a 7, until American contractors start caring about sound pollution and laying down proper sound dampening protocols.
Landmark Conservancy is the BEST place to live! It is very quiet and the staff is wonderful!!
Don’t be blinded by the nice pool, clubhouse, and helpful friendly staff. The apartments are extremely poorly constructed, so unless you enjoy the same music as all your neighbors, want to know what room the people above you are in at all times, and know when they’ve flushed a toilet or are doing dishes, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you choose an apartment on the conservancy side with a great view, be prepared for incessant road noise that makes your balcony and windows unusable, and even on a light traffic day, you’ll look down and see all the dog waste your inconsiderate neighbors will leave in their yards for weeks. The staff really are great and try to help, hence the 2 stars, but when all of the noise, sleepless nights, inconsiderate neighbors, and extra nickel-and-dime fees on every monthly rental bill finally get to you and you want to move out early, you’ll find the lease breakage of 105 days rent (60 notice plus 45 punitive) to be borderline abusive. Look elsewhere.
I have only been here for a little while, but my personal experience here has been phenomenal thus far! This complex is located far enough outside of the city to where you have a little peace and quiet, yet close enough to Austin and Bee Caves to where you can get any errands done quickly, or still meet up with friends on a weekend outing! Additionally, any issues I've had with my stay here has been answered and resolved quickly (and I mean minutes after I send an email) by the staff on duty here.
I have lived here 8 months and will be renewing my one year lease. Moving from a house on 3 acres, I was hesitant about apartment living, but the view from my balcony is of hills and trees so it has a country feeling, yet it is only a few miles from both Hill Country Galleria and from the Y at Oakhill with every possible convenience. The complex is gated so it feels very safe, with grounds that are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Virtually no sound carries from other apartments, other than occasional water running. The office staff here is so friendly and accommodating, they are one of the biggest pluses of the community. The same can be said for the maintenance staff who all are courteous and helpful, and any time I have requested a repair it has been taken care of the same day. There are so many amenities...fitness room, conference room, movie theater, business area with computers, dog park, a huge pool area with covered cabanas and outdoor grills, a pool table and shuffleboard table in the clubhouse. The manager, Heather, plans at least one community activity a month that gives residents a chance to socialize. These have included a Halloween party, potluck dinner, happy hours, Saturday breakfasts, etc., and now a yoga class by the pool is being offered on Saturday mornings. I have no hesitation in recommending Landmark Conservancy...it is simply a great place to live with great people who manage it!
There has been a surplus of units recently at L C. Perhaps this is due to high rents, competition, property not maintained to previous standards. Surplus brought lower prices and I jumped at the opportunity to get more space at a lower price. My excitement ended when I was told there was a transfer fee of 750 which is not in the lease. So new tenants are getting in with lower prices and other incentives but tenants that have lived here for years were price gauged. When my lease is up I will not renew and I am sure others will follow. This is wrong on so many levels!!!
Property Manager at Landmark Conservancy, Responded To This Review
I am so sorry you feel price gauged. That is not the intention at all. We offer different specials throughout the year based on the market trends and for a short period were offering discounted rents. We would be happy to discuss your renewal rate with you. Please reach out to the office team and let us know what we can do to help you feel happier in your apartment home.
Let's face it, when it comes to living in Austin there are options. Hands down, LC has been my most favorite place to call home. Here's why: 1. The community is small, gated, and provides an extremely safe feeling. When I first started my apartment search and comparing prices/amenities - LC won because you can't put a price tag on a safe community. 2. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Outside of the buildings are pink rose bushes, and wild grasses through out the community... in the spring time we home a dozen different kinds of butterflies. We also have the most beautiful of birds... finches, orioles, hummingbirds, painted buntings, cardinals..I'm lucky enough to live on the back side of the property that backs up to a cattle ranch. I wake up to huge Texas longhorns. At night, I listen to the coyotes howl at the moon. 3. The front office staff and maintenance team are BOMB.com. If I have ever had a concern or problem, or even a question, they have immediately addressed it. They are personal, they know me by name, they know my dogs, and always make a point and to say "hi, and have a great day" not because they have to, but because I feel they genuinely care. They are constantly walking the property and really go above and beyond to keep our community beautiful. They pay attention to details. 4. LC offers a business area with MAC desktops, theater room, conference room, coffee bar, a comfortable lounge like club house, and a gym- towel service, a convenient and ALWAYS clean bathroom. And the pool - WOW! Cabana like style, plenty of lounge chairs, grills, outdoor tvs, best part is it's spread out so you never feel crowded. The dog park is a large gated area with trees for the dogs to roam. There is even a dog bath station (we use it often, it's great)You can even opt for a yard! My only complaint is I have a small yard with 8 ac units in it - couldn't they be somewhere else? Sometimes I feel like I'm paying to store them. 5. LOCATION - 3 minutes from the hill country galleria, 5 minutes to hit 290 for a quick escape to wine country, 15 minutes to get downtown, 10 minutes to loop 1, easy access to I-35, two H-E-Bs within 5 mi, 10 min to green belt (unless you find the secret entrance) 6. Apartments come with a washer/dryer, dish washer, microwave, oven, and refrigerator/freezer -Appliances are black or silver, granite counter tops, a huge kitchen sink and my favorite -- the garden tub!! Rent at LC is not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
I would not even give this property 1 star. Ever since i lived there it was a terrible experience and mostly with the staff. The attitudes and lack of care for the the people living there was appalling. Response time to issues was extremely slow and every time we needed maintenance, we had requested for the phone call before entering our apartment and not once did they ever call us. Every time they helped themselves in our apartment without notice. Anytime I would go into the office you could bet on waiting for them to stop conversing in the back to even realize you are there. It was the biggest inconvenience for them to help, like sorry you have to do your job now. the apartment itself looks pretty but is extremely poor quality. The plastic on our kitchen cabinets started peeling away in our "brand new" apartment, we were the only people to live in that unit. This was just one of many interior problems. So it has been months now since i have lived there and couldn't be more relieved, but what bring me here now is that I find last night a bill from a collection agency for Landmark Conservancy because their incompetent staff did not process my check for my final bill. I never once got a notice saying i was going to be sent. I went in, paid, was assured everything was squared away and left. Never heard from them again and now i am in collections. If this effects me one bit they will see further action, building credit in your 20's is already difficult. Very displeased with this property. I never recognized any of the people working there because the turn around rate was that high.
The property is very nice. The staff is very nice, however nothing is going to fixed around here in a timely manner. A guest crashed thorough the gate a week ago, still not fixed. Management shorted the range on the entry gates so now everyone can hardly get in or out, annoying inconvenience. Lights in the hallways are burned out and have not been replaced. The hallways, elevator and swimming pool are never cleaned , mopped or swept. Stairways are getting spider webs. The apartment staff does respond efficiently on apartment concerns, exterminating ants and fixing ac/ washing machine those issues fixed in days. The common area with large TVs, pool table, shuffle board, computers are very nice. There is never a LC sponsored social , happy hour , which would be nice so you could meet some neighbors.
A great location for someone looking for a quiet place to live - and only a 15 minute drive into downtown. The entire property is well maintained with an entertaining clubhouse (movie room, 24hr gym, computer room, pool table) beautiful pool and my favorite - a ginormous dog park. Great quality for an affordable price.
