Property Ratings at Landmark
My husband and I have lived here just short of five years, and we absolutely love it here! The apartments are clean and spacious, and the owners, staff, and maintenance crew are all professional and helpful. Anytime we have ever had a question or needed something repaired or replaced (which is very rare, by the way, because everything is extremely well-maintained), we are met with a helpful answer and quick, efficient service. Communication between management and tenants has been excellent during the time we have lived here. The development is set at the top of a hill, surrounded on three sides by woods, and the grounds are beautifully kept. We have a lovely view out our living room window during every season, and the location offers a scenic overlook into Newington. It is so quiet and serene, especially at night, that it is easy to forget you are just a mile from the busy Berlin Turnpike. There are assigned parking spots, in-building storage and laundry facilities, and a beautiful in-ground pool and community center. Between the peaceful, wooded living area, and the proximity to everything you could ever need on the Berlin Turnpike, it really is the best of both worlds! We have no complaints, and truly enjoy living here!
We've been here for almost 35 years, we enjoy the peaceful, quiet environment and love the walking trails. Hope to be here another 35.
I moved in summer of 2019 and I couldn't be happier. Peaceful, friendly atmosphere and the grounds are immaculate!! Apartments are all updated and well maintained. Management is wonderful and I couldn't be in a better location in Newington. Close to all the stores and main routes and yet it is quietly tucked away from all the traffic and noise.
Great staff, good location and clean apartments. This place a great long term rental choice.
The rent price is reasonable. The parking lot is clean and surroundings are well maintained. The pool is great but the gym area the machines are old and need more modern machines. Neighbors are quiet and nice except for my neighbor from the first floor! She has heavy feet day and night and inclusive at late in the night I hear noises! To noisy to pay rent with upstairs neighbor who doesn’t let you sleep so you can work to pay rent and bills!!!!!
Nice quite spot on the hill with scenic view great neighbors
I have lived here 4 years and just signed an extension for a 5th year. I have had nothing but a fine experience living here. The grounds are kept in immaculate condition. The property is at the top of a high ridge and is very scenic. Living here can feel like a rural setting but is actually just off of the Berlin Turnpike. The parking lot and walkways are kept clear during snowfalls in the winter and kept clean year round. The pool is in generally good shape and there are plenty of chairs and chaises and even a few tables with umbrellas. There is a "pool house" with public bathrooms. The management office is actually in a different apartment community about a mile away. The management staff is pleasant and attentive. The maintenance staff is responsive to calls from tenants and can always be seen around the property "keeping up the place." The apartments themselves are nice sized and have appliances purchased within the last decade (decent but not brand new or top of the line). Noise from neighbors is generally low unless you have an upstairs neighbor with "heavy feet." Now, some negatives. The buildings are all starting to show their age. It would be nice if they updated the carpets, lighting and paint in the hallways. Although there is a laundry room in every building, there is only two small washers and two dryers in each of those laundry rooms. And if my buildings laundry room is a typical example, the machines are getting old and break down often. The exercise machines in the "gym" area are also older and starting to look a little run down. All in all, from my experience since moving to CT, Landmark is one of the better apartment properties in central CT region.
The second you pull up to this complex, you know exactly what the general atmosphere is. The buildings are outdated but they have been renovating. It is (exterior-wise) quietly seated on a mountain top surrounded by nature that over looks down to Wethersfield and Hartford. The space is good. There is free heat and hot water which I honestly don't think they shut off like so many other complexes. They have a pool, reasonable amount of parking, and it is so tucked away that it can be a very nice escape to live at. Now saying all of that, like everywhere else there are downsides. The office staff is completely all over the place. Sometimes rude, sometimes just confused, not really organized. There are basically two people in the family that runs the complex that are functional and reasonable to work with. Also I truly believe that the rent is so decent for the spot that they get some annoying tenants there as well. Some tenants are incredibly silent so they might complain at any noise--others are incredibly loud and party until 2-3am. Its really a grab bag for where you will end up and who you are around. I will say if you don't mind noise and are likely to have people over a lot, the fronts tend to be louder; the backs near woods and mountain side or eerily (not necessarily bad) quiet. It's tricky. They have multiple complexes and buildings, all very different, and the people are the only real surprises. There were times when it was beyond gorgeous living there. Times where it was utterly quiet and felt like living tucked away from the world. Times where people were partying late, shooting fireworks over the parking lot, or yelling at each other/other tenants. Physically speaking, it is a really nice complex.
