Hollywood is the epicenter of the movie business, home to celebrities and dreamers alike. Convenient to Los Angeles, Hollywood draws many in with its iconic landmarks and historic theatres.
Take a step back in time when you visit remnants of Old Hollywood Glam at historic theatres such as TCL Chinese Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, and the Egyptian Theatre. Amoeba Music may seem like a time capsule but the largest independent record store in the U.S. stocks an impressive variety of CDs and DVDs as well as a knowledgeable staff. See where the Academy Awards are hosted at Dolby Theatre, the star-studded Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard, and the best views of the city from the overlook at Hollywood Bowl. Catch movie productions in action around Hollywood and stop by the Hollywood Wax Museum to see replicates of the more reclusive celebrities.
Accessible to the Hollywood Freeway and Griffith Park, major attractions and employers are only a short drive from Hollywood.

Property Ratings at Lanewood Pines
There are cockroaches that they wont tell you about and management is horrible. DO NOT MOVE HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT. We have lived here for a while and have our apartment constantly sprayed and STILL have cockraoches.

Thank you for your review! We have just introduced a new review management system, and we would like to extend our sincere apologies for any delay in our response. Your feedback holds immense significance to us, and we truly value the time you invested in sharing your thoughts about our community. We appreciate your understanding and the feedback you've provided.
The worst management and the building manager is not at all kind and helpful. They allowed Airbnb during The Pandemic and random people stayed in the apartment next to mine. It’s infested with roaches and it’s extremely unhealthy to live there. Don’t! Look for other properties. These people suck and increase the rent every year!
Unless you want a 13% increase in your rent every year, look elsewhere. There has been no major improvements made to this building to justify that percentage increase. They cannot even get the roach infestation under control (you'll never be alone in the elevator). I've lived here with my wife for three years with no complaints and always paying on time. We are expecting our first child mid April and our lease ends May 1st. We plan to move back home in June. We asked management for a ONE MONTH extension on the lease to help us out with the timing of my daughters birth and moving back home and they simply said NO. The options given are to either sign for another year at a 13% increase, which is definitely not an option for us, or to go on a month-to-month basis for an additional $500 per month. So we are stuck paying the additional $500 a month, which is also the first month of my child being born and my wife not working. So once our daughter is born we will have to come home from the hospital and pack. I explained all of this to management in a letter and received a one sentence response back of "I am so sorry but this was declined." They clearly don't care about the residents here.

LOOK ELSEWHERE! This place used to be an awesome place to live, but recently the corporate office has taken over and only cares about money and not it’s residents. They recently fired the property manager Alex, who was literally the only reason I stayed here as long as I have. Well that and the maintenance staff Jose and Antonio are awesome, and all the tenants are super cool. Unfortunately Lanewood Pines is jacking up our rent, anywhere between an 8% to a 13% increase and it’s all geared towards making us pay for upcoming “renovations.” This place is not rent controlled and they will literally raise the rent on you to simply line their pockets. Lanewood Pines if you’re reading this how about you offer us tenants the chance to break our lease early so we can leave and you can start these renovations without us? You clearly want us gone so why not just let us leave? Also none of the new management has said anything to its tenants or even made an attempt to say hello. You would think with such a drastic change in our living environment upper management would like to make this a smooth transition for its residents, but they couldn’t care less. Such a bummer. We no longer have a live in building manager who was available to help us at any given time, or maybe we do, again i wouldn’t know. If not, this will make this even worse! I locked myself out once and Alex got up and left his apartment at 1am to let me in and had no issues about it, but that’s who Alex was. Now we have an office worker(s?) who doesn’t say hello and seems bothered to deal with us. So sad we used to have such a welcoming and friendly manager and they decided to get rid of him on some BS about “resident complaints.” Literally EVERYONE HERE LOVED ALEX! They jacked up our rent by $400 dollars and said they were gonna start renovating apartments and nothing has been done in 5 months. They were too busy trying to fire Alex cause he actually cared about his tenants. The only reason I even renewed my lease was cause of Alex; he made it worth it to pay more to live here. Now that they got rid of him I will not be renewing my lease and I strongly suggest you don’t live here either. They also bought the building next door, Infinity West and I hear it’s awful over there too. Don’t give these people your money! You can live in Hollywood for way cheaper! Coming home everyday shouldn’t be stressful, it should be warm and welcoming. You won’t find that at Lanewood Pines anymore that’s for sure.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT LIVE HERE!! We have lived here for 3 years and upper management/corporate has been on a steady decline over the past year or so and they have recently fired the building manager, Alex. In all honesty, he was the only reason we renewed our lease this past November after an 8% rent increase (that’s after a 3% increase the year before). We are in shock that Alex was let go. He was the best thing about this building, along with his maintenance staff Jose and Antonio. This place is consistently raising rent, from 3% to 13% and we have seen absolutely no renovations or improvements. That is ridiculous! They are having the current residents front the money for remodels we will never see. We definitely get the vibe that they are trying to get all of us out. It really seems this company only cares about money and not it’s tenants, and it was made abundantly clear when they let go of the only person that actually cared about the people. We will definitely not be renewing our lease when the time comes. The building is not nice for what they charge – old kitchens, crappy gym, outdated décor, elevator constantly breaks down, lots of homeless people nearby, frequent street closures because of events or police activity (man hunts, murders, robberies, etc. – but we stayed because of Alex who is an amazing person and was great at his job, the maintenance guys (who are on top of it – always fix things right away, very nice and helpful), and the wonderful community of people. It seems like all of those positives are on the way out, so we will be too. Side note: this management company also just purchased the Infinity West apartment building on this street, I’d avoid that place too.

Lanewood Pines should be on the Top 100 apartments to live in America as far as I'm concerned. The place is safe, great location, amazing amenities(including a soda machine) because the little things matter, Great staff who genuinely care about you and want you to enjoy coming home. Alex, the property manager will become part of your family if you stay to long. Jose and Antonio do a great job of making sure your needs are met in a timely efficient manner. You'll love Hollywood when you move here but you'll love you apartment complex a bit more. This place is great. I did 3 1/2 years myself!
Actually, I didn't get serviced. I got starred at through the glass. Had to ask through the glass if I could look at a unit and even then they didn't open the door. Just looked around STUPID. Very annoying as I am very eager to move into an apartment.
I was a little nervous about moving into an apartment and being new to LA. I have to say it has been rough at first because other tenants left before lease I hung in there because I valued this place they take good care of the tenants here and keep the place so clean and fast when requesting maintenance of any kind. I will have to say it was hard leaving family and friends but has been a great experience I visit them they visit me . I came out here to peruse my music and talents with show production it's been tough but I am strong and know I can do it . I am loyal and have looked around but only have found a,few like this one to get this reward would be a,answer to all the disappointed times I have had I have a,great Mom you has always been positive but have had people disappoint me and that is hard . Would love to get ahead and how this would help me complete my desire in photography to win this award . I would even do something special for the complex. Please grant me this as I want to give back to someone else and grow as a person through the hard times I've had . What a great way to fulfill my desire and get this reward. Humans have feelings they have fault I'm here to say we also know that positive ways are the best .

Hello and thank you for your awesome review! I'm happy to hear that our staff is doing a great job. I will make sure to pass a long the review. Brenda Torres customer Service Rep btorres@gkind.com 310-280-5031
I have lived here for 5 years. PROS Alex the manager is nice and lives in the building Pool and BBQ area are nice. The gym is ok. The apartments are a good size and have balconies. Newly updated laundry room. Unbeatable location if you work on Hollywood Blvd. CONS Terrible location if you don't want to deal with Hollywood Blvd. (premieres, Jimmy Kimmel, Hollywood Bowl and In & Out Burger will cause serious traffic issues) The prices get jacked up every year you live here. In 5 years my rent has gone up over $300. Tenants are mostly young. They party and they're loud.
Upon deciding to move out to Hollywood, my roommate and I started the scout for the apartment that would suit our needs, financially wise, security wise, and of course, location wise! Having spent about 3 weeks hovering around the Hollywood area, we finally found Lanewood Pines. Talked to the manager Alex, and by the next day we signed the lease. Living here for about 3 years now, I have yet to find an apartment that offers the same size, comfort, location and price that Lanewood Pines provides. I have dozens of friends and acquaintances asking about our apartment complex and wanting to speak with Alex! It's like the perfect and healthiest cake! Everyone wants a piece! I'll gladly refer anyone to Lanewood Pines, the manager is most helpful, and the maintenance crew is always there to help! Good luck on your search and hope to see you all here!!
When looking for an apartment I look at three things. Price, location and cleanliness. Lanewood Pine's prices are comparable to other apartment building standing in the Hollywood area. I'm living here on a tight budget so I can tell you most prices are same as what you'll find here. The building is minutes away from anywhere you want to go. Restaurants/fast food chains, bars, clubs, shopping centers, gym, metro and schools. You can find all of that in the 1 mile range. It is located in between Hollywood blvd and Sunset Blvd, But even those are the noisiest streets in LA, in between, on lanewood ave. you hear nothing absolutely nothing, you think you're living in the valley. Lastly, cleanliness, the manager and the maintenance crew in the building are the great, friendlier than other buildings. Whether you're sitting at the bbq area or at the pool it's clean all the time. This is the third apartment building I live in in a 5 year span. This is my 3rd year at Lanewood Pines cause it's comfortable.. Easy as that.
