Lansing is the capital city of Michigan, neighboring one of the state’s most notable universities, Michigan State University. This institution’s sprawling campus borders Lansing to the east, and a hefty portion of the student population calls Lansing home, giving this city a college town vibe. Though Lansing is the state capital, rentals in the area are surprisingly affordable, offering apartments, condos, and houses.
Downtown Lansing is a charming historic district along Grand River, featuring must-visit historic sites like the Michigan State Capitol and overlooking shops, cafes, bars, and more along South Washington Square. Local entertainment options appeal to residents and visitors alike, such as the Cooley Law School Stadium, the proud home of the MiLB’s Lansing Lugnuts and the Impression 5 Science Center. Small businesses keep Lansing’s charm alive, so be sure to check out the Lansing Brewing Company on Shiawassee Street after you find your affordable apartment.

Property Ratings at Lansing Tower
Amazing stay. Kristina and Jake are the easiest people to work with and are incredibly professional and will get you into a place you’ll love. I loved that the building has all the amenities all in one. Gym, Pool, Washer & Dryers . 10/10!

I loved living here because of the amazing view, nice apartment, fair prices, covered parking, location, and how management always treated me and my girlfriend really well.

Lansing Tower is an old and crumbling building and the company that owns it, Princeton Management, is not up to task of maintaining it. There are constant water shutoffs. Construction supplies are left out in common areas. The lobby ceiling leaks. Retaining walls are crumbling. There is a pothole in the parking garage. Individual units have significant ongoing problems. (I had a hole in the roof of my bathroom for the better part of a year.) There have been insect infestations in some of the stacks. Hallways reek of smoke while an ancient HVAC system that struggles to keep up. The parking garage is full of standing water whenever it rains and hard water - the kind that ruins the paint on your car - drips from the ceilings and joints. Trash and debris often fill the garage. Vehicles get broken into. There are a few things to these units that are nice. The views are spectacular from higher floors. It is close to downtown, state buildings, and LCC. Office and maintenance staff are friendly and try to help. That being said? There are better places convenient to downtown that have similar views at a similar price point. Princeton Management, the company that owns this building, seems to want to only do the minimum to maintain the property let alone make it into anything the community at-large or in the building can be proud of. It comes across as a palpable disdain for the residents.
I applied for this apartment, was accepted, sent my security deposit in the mail (as they required me to do) and then received an email three days later that the unit I had was being given to someone else, leaving me scrambling to find another place to live. This was incredibly frustrating for me and very unprofessional on their part. I would never rent from a company that treats potential tenants this way.
They are so fast at repairing any issues in the apartment and every time I am in the office they make me feel so welcome! I am so glad I found a home at Lansing Tower!
The staff members are friendly and maintenance always comes within 24 hours of a non-emergency. Great view!
The unit is very modern & updated with very luxurious amenities and new carpeting! The view is spectacular also! But most importantly is the friendly & welcoming staff who always are willing to answer questions and perform maintenance as needed. I'm a very satisfied tenant!
The apartments are large for the price, but you'll never be able to enjoy it due to mismanagement. I lived here for ~4 years and would NOT recommend it to anyone unless you want to live in a smoker's paradise with aggressive homeless people in the lobby/ common areas or constant flooding in apartments and the lobby. Can you expect basic amenities? No. For most of summer 2019 there was no A/C, and we went over a week without heat in February (there were local news articles about this). The pool is unusable most summers due to algae overgrowth, and somehow the laundry machines add scum to clothes. Is it safe? No. While living here, my car was broken into as was the apartment across the hall. There wasn't a single minute where all building doors where shut and locked. Did I mention that it's across the street from Club Rise, an addiction recovery house that constantly has ambulances outside due to heroine overdoses? Is it an honest management company? No. I caught them in multiple lies over the years, and honestly, I wouldn't trust any positive reviews because they have openly advertised paying residents to write reviews. Are the maintenance staff good? Actually yes! A lot of their maintenance folks are hard workers and really nice, but there's not much they can do with Princeton management in charge. Don't make my mistake. These apartments are not worth it.

Hi ive been living here at lansing towers now going on 3 years and I love it , it is very safe , that's the first thing I was looking for and its that for sure. I love my view I'm on the 14th floor so the view is out standing the staff, oh my kristna and jake are the best if I need anything there on it rite away I cant say anything bad about lansingtowers I tell all my friends and anyone looking for a place to come here they are a bit pricy but you pay for what you want .
After living in a few apartment complexes over the years, Lansing Tower has proven to be a class act. The location is ideal, as the building is right across the street from several State buildings and a quick 5 minute walk to restaurants, Cooley Law School or LCC downtown. I have felt extremely safe on the property and the residents are nothing short of friendly. The management is astounding: helpful, on top of things, and even give you rent-is-due reminders. I felt included/welcomed the day I signed my lease. The building is being renovated and offers several new upgrades. Each apartment has full-length windows, maximizing the already-amazing views (some of the best in Lansing, including the Capital). Any of the minor maintenance requests I have made have been taken care of within 24 hours by respectful individuals. I would recommend Lansing Tower to anyone who asked.
DO NOT RENT HERE! You will regret it. I will start out with the positives. Clean apartments, nice views, fairly quiet... Everything else is horrible. The pool was shut down by city for violating ordinance. There have been so many issues. Over the summer, my apartment was a sauna because of the sun beaming through the windows. I would call the 24 hour answering service, but nothing would happen. A few times maintenace would come to my apartment, but the issue never got resolved. The answering service would tell residents they are overwhelmed by the volume of calls. The only thing that helped was it got cold early. But my introduction to this place was horrible and it went downhill from there. The dryers in the basement go out randomly. Management does not handle this issue because they are using a vendor. The vendor comes out only to fix the same problem over again. And the washers have issues too. I have had to take wet clothes out of the washer because a washer stopped working. The water is shut off almost every other month. The water is off this week. Management has offered bottled water and hand sanitzer, but this is no help given the number of times the water has been shutt off. Just fix the water issues and stop shutting it off every other month. Management has not offered to deduct people's rent for the inconvenience. Managment had to redo the plumbing in the building so they ran pipes in the hallway. They had these plastic pipes exposed for months. Then when they finally covered them up they left the sheetrock unpainted so now you see pencil marks. It looks trashy. No one has stated when they are going to remove these marks or paint over it. There is nothing luxury about this place. The place is poorly maintained. The work out room looks nice, but the equipment sucks. Only one treadmill works. Managment has said nothing about when the other treadmills would be repaired. The entry way to go out to the parking structure looks horrible. The carpet is filthy and there was a mouse trap underneath the vending machine. They need to replace the carpet, but won't. The back door of the building does not lock. Managment knows, but has done nothing to secure this door. Downtown is not the safest area. If you read any good reviews about this place, then please know that it's managment. Most people are not renewing their leases. I saw a UHaul truck last month. Don't be fooled by the nice view and spacious and clean apartment.
