Situated in the Tularosa Basin of the Chihuahuan Desert, Alamogordo sits between the Sacramento Mountains and White Sands National Monument. Alamogordo is also convenient to Holloman Air Force Base, making it a desirable location for military families in particular.

The city holds regular events, including the White Sands Balloon Invitational, Cottonwood Arts and Crafts Festival, a Cinco de Mayo celebration, summertime concerts at the International Space Hall of Fame, Oktoberfest, and an annual Christmas Parade. Alamogordo offers diverse attractions such as the New Mexico Museum of Space History and Alameda Park Zoo as well. Larger cities like Las Cruces and El Paso are about an hour’s drive from Alamogordo, should you want to enjoy more metropolitan delights.

Utter disappointment
Unfortunately I am here to share my frustrating and almost incomprehensible experience. In short they failed to meet the agreed upon move in date 3 times. Then the apartment was not cleaned, prepared, or even completely moved out of on the day they gave me the keys. When I pointed out dozens of issues only a few were corrected and with zero quality or attention to details. It goes on and on. Also some neighbors are quite unpleasant and make up lies to report to the management.

Especially if you're military, please don't rent here
Horrible management team, and from what I hear the last one was even worse. Ever since moving here 6 months ago I've been plagued by issues that should've been taken care of years ago like leaky ceilings, being assigned a covered parking space, updating of appliances without being told when(all of my food went bad). What really gets me is the lack of care and help from management! When my food went bad, it wasn't their fault for barging in and switching the fridge without proper notice, when the ceiling leaked it was maintenances fault, when my covered spot was SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE it wasnt management's fault they never recorded where I've been parking (I DID make a verbal arrangement with management...they failed to write it)... even when I compromised and took another spot THE SPOT WAS TAKEN!! They definitely don't even work with you if you're military. By far the greatest injustice if ever felt in my life and at this point I don't think anything can rectify that. Please, I beg you to stay elsewhere and stop empowering such a horrible establishment.

Great Place to Live
Highly recommend Las Ventanas. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The pool area is nice to relax at during the summer. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and professionally.
