Property Ratings at Pallas Townhomes and Apartments
We have been living here for almost 4 years and absolutely love it! The only thing that was difficult is during the pandemic the amenities were closed down, but they have opened everything except the clubhouse area for free access. You can still rent it out though. We love our neighbors and the leasing office and maintenance people are amazing. I would definitely recommend this as a place to live! I feel bad for the people that have bad experiences here because we have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Property Manager at Pallas Townhomes and Apartments, Responded To This Review
Wow, it's experiences like yours that really keep us motivated! We do hope we can be of assistance in the future. Take care!
I've been in the Pallas apartments for 2 weeks through SuiteAmerica (relocation company) and it has been a terrible experience. The entire complex and the units are a dump. There was an ant infestation in my unit and the neighbors smoke throughout the day making your living space smell like smoke. I've had my car towed once after I was told by the relo company I could park in the parallel spots which cost $430 to retrieve. This is close to the Nike campus but not worth the headaches I've had already. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Cons: Parking is a disaster. I have been here for almost a year and still haven't gotten off of the waitlist for a covered spot. Except for the one time 6 months ago when they told me I got a spot, gave me a new sticker and showed me the spot to park. Wake up the next morning to find out they told me the wrong spot and my car got towed. And instead of giving me the right spot, they gave it to someone else and put me back on the waitlist, where I still am. Or so I thought...since I checked in with them a few weeks ago and they informed me they never even had me on the waitlist to begin with... Good luck if you get home after 7pm because the lot will be full and you can either drive around aimlessly or risk it in the Trimet lot where you will most likely get a ticket. Why is the lot so full you might ask? Well, 1. they hand out WAY to many visitor passes, I alone have 6 of them, meaning if I wanted to I could park 7 cars here alone. 2. People who have assigned spots (shown with green stickers) frequently dont park in the assigned spots and park in the general parking taking up space. 3. Half of the parking stalls are for compact vehicles, which not everyone has and thus people will often take up two spots for one large truck. 4. And lastly, some people who live in the townhouses dont use there garages for there vehicles and instead park in the general lot and use the garages for storage. None of these should or would be issues if the complex did a proper job of enforcing their own rules. Bonus Cons: My water heater broke in my unit, it took them about a week to replace it. On top of that, they had to run a dehumidifier in my unit, which charged me about $300 of electricity, and they agreed to only refund me half of that. They also have a "dog park" here which is a joke because for some reason they decided to fill it with small sharp stones. My dogs refuse to run around in it because their feet get cut up. Not to mention, despite having dog pickup stations everywhere it seems like half the residents dont care to pick up their dogs droppings. Pros: Location.
Look elsewhere; if you take nothing else from this review just know that you can do better than Pallas. Pallas use to be called LaSalle, but because its poor reputation and reviews they have tried re-branding. Renting at Pallas has been the worse experience I have ever had with an apartment complex in 22 years of renting. I will first start with the issue of security or more like the lack thereof. The leasing staff loves to tell people how they benefit from Nike Security which is just BS and a lie. Never in my life have I lived somewhere were the police have come to my door looking for my neighbors which happened twice, plus the undercover police operation that happened in the area of my unit. The security company that they have contracted with to patrol the complex also patrols other apartment complexes. So when you call it is a 50/50 shot if they answer the phone and the average response is about 21 minutes. Lastly you can watch transience go through the dumpster in the complex daily. The units themselves are old and the complexes idea of upgrading is some new floors and counter tops and that is it. The walls are paper-thin, and the electrical is dated. The lights flicker when you are using newer electronics as the wiring can’t handle the strain. Then on any maintenance issues the maintenance workers told me directly that they are not supposed to spend any money tiring to fix anything, so repair work is of poor standard. Also a warning for anyone moving from out of state there is no A/C in the units, and the outside noise makes it unbearable most days to have the windows open. If you think it is worth moving there to be close to max don’t. It is free to park and ride with is between the complex and the station. Move somewhere else and just park if that is an option. Lastly if you experience any real issues the office staff is like dealing with used cars salesman. They will tell you anything they think you will want to hear just to get you out the door, but don’t do anything about anything. There is so much more but I hope this is enough to make you think twice.
RUUUUUNNN!!!!! Living here is a nightmare. if you love overpriced units, no parking, paying for towing and shitty attitudes from the staff then you found the right place. been here for 2 years so far and what a horrible place. started at a unit then moved to a town home thinking it was gonna be better but nope still horrible. cant cook without playing russian roullette with my stove every time I cook. I work graveyard so parking is impossible here when I get off work. Only when I have issues I get the shitty attitude from the staff but if i'm there to pick up packages I get the heart warming hospitality what a joke. all in all this place sucks I would try the place across the street maybe they have better units and a better system.
Within an hour of arriving to visit family who just moved in, my vehicle was towed by Titan Towing. It is not readily apparent that they have ABSOLUTELY NO GUEST PARKING. If you live here, any guests who visit will have their vehicle stolen with a $300 ransom.
My husband and I have lived here for almost a year. During that time, our car has been hit in the parking lot, and has been broken in to. The parking (in general) is horrendous. If you come home after 6pm, typically there are no spots. There is a MAX station next door, but apartment parking is prohibited, so it seems like there is plenty of parking, but there isn't. This past week, our car was broken in to, despite being in a carport that we pay extra for, because we got tired of dealing with the limited parking. Needless to say, we don't feel safe here and will be finding another place to live.
Do you like to have a parking spot? Too bad, you better rent a covered spot-oh wait! Your on the wait list! Yes, we know there are empty covered spots, but those individuals are paying for it aren't they? You say there is construction going on and you weren't notified? Like everyone else in the complex? And the construction has displaced families, couples and individuals? Welcome to LaSalle Apartments where we don't do anything about it! You might not be able to get to work in the morning, and you had to pay for your car after it got towed, but hey, that's LaSalle apartment style. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Parking is terrible for months now.. I had to help my dad who can’t walk from the train station to our apartment in the front! We are lucky we weren’t towed! I don’t understand all the construction either, we had no clue it was going on and each week more parking spots are taken by them with tow signs. We tried to get a covered spot but there is a wait list. I work nights and you can’t imagine coming home from a tough night to no parking and then trying to sleep with fear of getting towed.. I am so tired.
We just moved out and while we were there it was a good experience. The parking sucks otherwise ok until you move out. Our apartment was clean when we moved out. They charged us $150 for cleaning the apartment and another 150 for cleaning carpet. They told us there was a broken blind and charged us 45 for that. Don't make any effort to clean your apartment when you move out because it is a waste of time. The rent was way over priced and if they tell you there is a lot of parking they are lying to you. If you plan on moving out don't expect a security deposit back.
Seriously the best rental experience I have ever had. After having multiple negative experiences in the past at other places, the crew at LaSalle raises the bar. Even when an unexpected issue arose with our move in, they were on it! They made sure my family was comfortable and well taken care of. From the ladies in the front office to the maintenance team, we have had a great experience here. Every time we walk in the office we are greeted with a warm welcome and they know our whole family by name. Thanks for all you guys do! Angela you have a great team!
I am in love with my apartment. It is spacious, feels luxurious and is in a great and convenient location. The ladies in the office are so nice and helpful whenever I call. Maintenance gets done pretty quickly and one of the maintenance guys is my favorite, although I forget his name. He is just always consistently friendly. I normally wouldn't pay this much for an apartment and was kind of risking it with La Salle, but I'm so glad I did. I didn't honestly think I could love an apartment as much as I do, ha!
Great place, located right on max linen two pools, two gyms. Beautiful apartments that are more like homes... Great appliances and amenities. The staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful. Maintenance team has been fantastic with very timely service. I'm very satisfied with my apartment and services.
