What began as a resort getaway for the Low Country elite in the 19th century has blossomed into a thriving community on the outer edge of the Charleston area. Countless buildings in town have been added to the National Register of Historic Places, so the local architecture definitely contributes to the charming atmosphere.
The town has experienced massive growth since the 1980s, meaning many of the apartments and homes are fairly new, and the cost of living is very affordable compared to many places closer to the city. Only about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston via I-26, it’s a great place for commuters to call home. Parents will appreciate the terrific local schools and family-friendly events like the annual Flowertown Festival.

Property Ratings at Latitude at Wescott
When I was getting ready to move in the office kept dodging my phone call. When they finally decided to call me back they said my unit wasn't ready and wouldn't be ready for another 2 months but there is a higher rate unit available. I was about to get them to come down on the price but when I went to see the unit, the dishwasher was broken, things were falling apart it was very clear they didn't fix anything before I moved in. The dishwasher was broke for about 6 months before they brought me a whole new one. The pool was closed most of the time, the fob system that they wanted to implement never got off the ground; because of that you couldn't use any of the amenities after the office closed. One time the office lost my check and never give me a late rent notice, they just put the 15 day notice on my door. I had to go to my bank. Get a copy of the certified check that I gave them. And they still denied it, and then finally, they decided that I had paid them and took a notice out of the system.. I live there for 2 years and they had some much turn over in the office it was a giant red flag. Don't move here.
There are tons of hidden and high fees. I'm being charged over $400 extra for the month of February to include: Sewer- $160.91 Water- $70.00 Trash- $34.55 Trash Valet- $30 Cam Charge- $64.23 Service Fee- $4.00 Pest Control- $3.00 Insurance- $14.00 On top of that they still haven't fixed issues from when I moved in 4 months ago like missing bathroom drawers, unpainted patched walls, missing closet doors, ripped screens and more.
I moved into here only a few months ago and I’ve regretted it ever since. The office is a complete joke. You can call them 40 times and no one will ever answer. If you go in with problems, they will look you in the eye and tell you they’ll do something and then do nothing. I’ve had the wrong mail key for months and nothing has been done about it, I’ve had a broken toilet since I moved in and nothing has been done about it. They’re trying to charge me $140 late fee for rent because I had charges that shouldn’t have been on there I was trying dispute but couldn’t talk to them because of they phone issue. There are like no rule for the tenets apparently because there are people firing fireworks near cars, gunfights breaking out, and garbage all over the place. If I could give this place no stars I would. Avoid at all costs.
Jahar, I am probably spelt her name wrong, I apologize. She was so extremely helpful. We had an issue with the end of lease, she went above and beyond to assist me and my daughter. I would recommend renting at Lattitude. Beautiful ammenities and a great staff.
Falling apart, it's hard to believe how much this complex has declined just in the 6 months I've been here. Gates are broken and not going to be repaired, pool is constantly closed, maintenance is nonexistent. They will tell you what ever they have to to get you out the door. Bugs, inside and out, grounds are not kept at all. No accountability for residents who trash the place, and my car has been broken into twice and packages disappear from your doorstep. Run.
Latitude at westscott is a very beautiful place to live it's very quiet community
I have been here for ten years and am retired. This place is great for being close to all you need for shopping, banking and entertainment. The staff is so helpful and enough could not be said for how great the facilities are.
Highly recommend living here if your previous living arrangement were south side Chicago or Flint, Michigan. It is an upgrade from those two spots.

Latitude at Wescott has been an excellent place to live. We have been living here for over 5 years and expect to continue our residency here. As my son in law said "this is a beautiful, legitimate community, which is hard to find in today's market" and we agree!
At first glance this seems like a great apartment complex. Until you notice that management does nothing to help you. The pest control you pay for isn’t done. Everyone let’s their dog poop everywhere and isn’t cleaned. The gates haven’t worked in years. The pool has no closed gate. Oh and some just walked up and shot up the pool. Rent is high apartments are horrible. Do better!
Located in prime location. Easy access to most of well renowned manufacturing companies to commute to work. Schools and Grocery stores closeby to the community at a walkable distance. Well maintained surroundings.

Parking continues to be an issue, the gates will probably never be fixed, and living in building 7 is gross between the trash and the stray cats leaving dead animals in the breezeways because people feed them.

I have been here almost ten years and the neighborhood has changed. We have a shopping mall area now just across the street. An elementary school is at the end of the street and everything else I need is within five miles. Location is PRIME!

Expensive place! poor maintenance. Management does not replace old things in the apartment and they force tenants to keep using the old stuffs like carpet, washer, dryer, refrigerator etc. Beware of this place!

My daughter and I have been living at Latitude of Wescott for a little over a month and we are settling in nicely. We love it here. The staff is great and very helpful. Any problems we have had, has been addressed immediately.

Ive been here for 5 years management has been up and down. I have experience a very rude and unprofessional maanger and once I contacted the district manager and explain my problem it was resolved by transferring to another apartment. Everything has been great. Brittany is an awesome leasing agent. Always there to help.

Location means everything and Latitude is very good. Everything is near by.
Latitude at Wescott has declined over the last 4 years that I have lived here. My rent keeps going up and quality of living here keeps going down. I will not be re-upping my lease if improvements are not made. Parking is terrible by building 7, the grounds are unkept back there as well, it is apparent you are not background checking people anymore, appliances are old, and office response time during the beginning of COVID was terrible.

Muy buen lugar, tranquilo y agradable
I do not recommend this apartment complex due to the fact that none of the amenities are available or operating, the front gates have not been working for about 8 months now. Car wash is useless because the vacuum does not work. Very bad mold smell in apartment since moved in.

I have lived here 8 1/2 years and seen five different owners. This place is home and I love my neighbors and friends. It is a beautiful place year round and the management does everything to make it happen.

I have been a resident here more than 8 years and seen many changes in management. I love my home and all of the neighborhood. It takes time for new people to get up to speed for what I have been use to, but it is happening. Looking forward to summer around the pool.
The whole place is a complete joke. There are newer, more trustworthy, apartments that just recently went up only a mile or two down the road-definitely check those out. Will continue to encourage people to stay far away from this garbage hole of a place.
We are terminating our lease early because we’re buying a home. I went into the office and spoke with Linda and asked for the total cost for terminating early for budgeting purposes. I was quoted one amount and received the acknowledgment to vacate with a different amount, $450 higher! No one, not even management, seems to care that we were quoted something different. I understand people make mistakes but when you’re supposed to be the expert in your field I expect to be quoted correctly when you’re looking at my lease agreement. The gates are always broken and there doesn’t seem to be anything happening to fix the constant issues (put cameras up and fine those that hit them since that’s always the excuse used). Parking is usually a nightmare from evening time on.
The apartments are nice. Favorite staff member is Mr. Ron on the Maint. Team. Parking is terrible. The absolute best thing this property has to offer is the Cares Team. They have truly created a community within the community. The events provide opportunities to meet and get to know your neighbors in a relax setting. The location is ideal, with shopping just across the street.
I moved in here 2 years ago, and have loved every minute! The staff are courteous and helpful. The grounds are kept clean and manicured. And the amenities are wonderful. The pool is nice, and open year round; there is a hot tub, and a pool house. Inside the clubhouse there is a gym, a yoga studio, a tanning bed, and computer room. It is a nice gathering place. Two to three times a month, the Cares Team hosts events in the clubhouse, where we can socialize with other tenants.
We moved south after retiring. We were looking for a house to rent until we knew the area well enough to buy a home. Because of the limited rental availability our real estate agent brought us here. We love it. The management and people are very friendly and helpful. The Cares team are great and we feel we are home. We may never move again.
I have lived here for three years. At first, I was against the idea of living in apartments when we came to SC, but I'm so thankful we found this neighborhood. We picked it for the amazing elementary school right next door. This is the first time I've ever felt comfortable letting my child play outside. This is the first time I actually felt a part of a community and knew my neighbors. The management is so kind and bends over backward for residents. There is also a Cares Team that does a really great job at this property.
The valet trash u pay for limits u to how much and what kind of trash u can have, so u have to take everything else but what they say, a complete waste of money and can't opt out of it a total rip off they should get rid of and would make everyone happier and the rent $30 cheaper not a convience more of a pain and haste to pay someone for something and then they limit it to how much, how heavy, and what kind of trash u have ! It's ridiculous and completely useless because people are to lazy to walk the short distance to throw there trash away
The apartment is very spacious and comfy but they have a bug problem in the summer months. It's not too bad, but it's enough to make you want to call the exterminator yourself. I love the valet trash pickup as well and the fact that we're across the street from a grocery store.
