Property Ratings at Laurel Oaks Senior
I love living here even though it's only been a month.
We have at times been left with no limits for access to anyone in the evenings. As a result there have been thefts, know drug dealing and usage in the building. Repairs to the overall building and surrounding area have been either left undone or not well done. I have lived here since 2011 and things have gotten worse over time. I have spent my own time and money in the garden area, not just on my alloted plot but over much of the gardens with the help of a few others, and the sprinkler system went down several years ago, making it nearly impossible to keep things growing well. Even the water spigot is now locked. There have been some abuses by people living here, washing their vehicles but not from the spigot near out non-functional back entrance which has been unusable for over a year now. All of the parking lot lights were out for a long time, finally repaired and now are going out one by one again. All and all I have enjoyed living here, but it not the same as it used to be. Those apartment managers we have had since I have been here, have all been caring, hard working people who put up with a lot from some bad tenants at times, and they have all done their best to see that things are run well, and I realize that some of our problems are beyond their control without those above them agreeing to do what should be done to meet our needs for comfort and protection.
In spite of my difficulties here, and most have been resolved, I would definitely recommend this apartment community to any of my friends or family. Overall, the property is beautiful, now well kept and clean, office personnel are nice and helpful, and residents are, for the most part, friendly and helpful. No matter where you live there are always difficult people and/or building problems to overcome, just a fact of life. I would not hesitate to recommend this community to anyone.
I probably would once I have really settled in and get "in the swing of things". So far everyone has been extremely nice and helpful. The apartment is safe, most important to me, and central to my needs, as I am sure it would be to most all residents regarding doctors, hospital, drug stores and grocery stores. I feel very lucky to have been accepted here.
